Idea: Simon and Josh's relationship was nowhere near healthy. Josh was very controlling of Simon and it was deteriorating his mental health. And so, not for the first time, Simon decides he's finally going to leave him. Will he actually though? Or, rather, could Simon ever leave?

Sometimes I feel I've got to Run away.
Simon just couldn't take it all the time. Josh was just too much sometimes. It wasn't ever necessarily his fault, it was just how he was.
I've got to Get away From the pain that you drive into the heart of me.
Simon usually just convinced himself he was being childish. Josh hadn't actually meant to come off as rude or as if he didn't love him. He must just be overreacting. Josh loved him.
The love we share Seems to go nowhere.
Right? Josh had to love him, he'd said so many times before. Although he never said it in front of the others. He'd often laugh at Simon when he'd say he loved Josh in front of the others.
I've lost my lights.
But he still loved him, right? If he didn't, he would tell him. Right?
I toss and turn: I can't sleep at night.
It was nights like these that Simon couldn't get any sleep. He spent hours on end tossing and turning, thinking these same thoughts. This time, Josh was out drinking with his mates. Again.

It happened often with nights like these that Josh wouldn't come home until the morning. When he'd arrive the next morning, looking like a mess, Simon would just run to his arms and tell him how lonely he was without him the night before.
Now I'll run from you.
But not tonight. Not again. Simon always said this, but this time it would be serious. He'd leave finally. He needed to leave.
This tainted love you've given.
This relationship wasn't healthy. Josh's love was tainted. It wasn't okay for Simon to keep himself here, to keep himself tied to Josh's lies.
I give you all a boy could give you.
Simon had given up way too much for this relationship. So much sleep, so much time, so much money, so much self-respect. He was done giving Josh everything.
Take my tears and that's not nearly all.
He was done letting Josh feed off his pain. His tears would be his own. His time would be his own. His heart would be his own. His body would be his own once again.

Simon was sick and tired of this tainted love.

Simon wouldn't let this tainted love poison him anymore.

Simon quickly sat up in his bed, looking around "their" bedroom. Very few of things were left in the room. Josh would always complain about how he had too much stuff.
I've got to Get away.
"This is all useless junk! Just get rid of it already!" Josh had screamed that at him once, throwing the glass of water in his hands towards Simon. The blond was lucky that the older was too drunk to aim right.
You don't really want any more from me To make things right.
Josh really didn't need anything else from Simon. So Simon should just take everything back. He grabbed a black suitcase- it had originally been his anyway- and began to fill it with what was left of his belongings. It sadly wasn't much, just enough to fill the large suitcase. And this was throughout their whole shared house.
You need someone to hold you tight.
All the while, Simon couldn't help but ponder what he had done wrong. Why wasn't he enough? He would give Josh anything he asked for, he often gave him way more than he should have. But to him, if it pleased Josh, it was worth the mortification.
You think love is to pray.
Josh always had weird guidelines for what their relationship should be. He believed he should control everything, with Simon only being able to agree. Simon hadn't seen any faults with the idea at first, but that was before Josh took charge.
I'm sorry I don't pray that way.
Simon hated every moment of Josh's ruling over his everything. What he wore, how he acted, what he said, how he moved, and exactly how much of his body he had to relinquish to Josh's needs every day.

Simon hated how dependent on Josh he had become because of this. Every little thing he did: Where is Josh? Would Josh approve? What would Josh think? When is Josh going to get home? He hated that it had gotten to this point.
Now I'll run from you.
But no more. He had finally finished packing. As he began his way down the steps, he heard the front door fling open. Josh was home.

Simon quickly ducked into the kitchen, holding his suitcase in front of him. He did his best to listen to Josh's movements over his panicked breaths. He couldn't let the older near him, he knew he'd give in.

What he could hear however confused him. There were way too many footsteps for it to only be Josh, even in his drunk state. That's when he heard the feminine giggle, which was quickly shushed afterwards.

A girl. Josh had brought a girl home. Simon couldn't understand it. Josh brought a girl to their home.
Tainted love.
Or, perhaps not. Tobi, one of Josh's mates, spoke up after the girl had giggled. Simon couldn't tell what it was, but it seems to have irritated Josh.

"The hell if I know where he is. I've been out with you two all night." Josh's stumbles came towards the kitchen and Simon stood up. He had to do this.
Don't touch me please.
Josh's hands went to wrap around Simon's waist when he saw the taller blond but Simon pushed him off. "What's wrong babe? I'm home now."
I cannot stand the way you tease.
"I can't keep doing this Josh. It's not healthy, I'm sorry." Josh's face set hard as he processed Simon's words.
I love you though you hurt me so.
"No. You love me, and so you're staying here. You don't have that choice." Josh's hands roughly grabbed Simon's waist, bruising the area for sure. Simon struggled in the grip, but Josh was always a little stronger.
Now I'm going to pack my things and go.
"Josh, just let me go. Please, I need to go." Simon's words were staggered by pain that was shooting through his body. Josh's hands had a vice grip on his waist, too tight for his comfort.
Touch me baby, tainted love.
"What's going on in here?" Tobi to the rescue, walking into the kitchen with the couple. He first noticed the black suitcase, packed up. Then he noticed the duo's position. "Josh, mate, let go of him. Hurting him won't help keep him here."

"Not true, if I hurt him enough he'll be too scared to go. It's worked so far, it'll work now." Josh's angry expression broke into a demented smirk as he suddenly pushed Simon tight against the counter behind him. "Why would you leave anyway, baby? You belong to me."

Tobi's drunken attempts to break away the adamant Josh weren't working, Josh pushing Simon back further and further into the counter. Simon's face was contorted, he didn't want to lose when he was so close.

"So baby, are you gonna keep trying to leave me? Because I can do this all night. I can do this until your skinny little back snaps. I know you're not healthy either, and that'll make it so much easier." Josh's words were a deterrent to Simon's confidence. It was true, he was doomed.

But could he really give up? When he was so close? When he just needed to make it to a door? "Joshy, please."

"Now, that's not what you're meant to call me, is it?"

"Simon, please don't give in to him. Just push him a little bit, then I can get him off."
