Alexa's POV
I felt bad for taking up Cole's whole weekend, so I decided for us to go to the beach. It's been a long time since I went to the beach.
"Sooooooo you and Ariana huh?" I say
"What about us?" He asks
"Are you two dating?" I ask him
"No. She's just..." he trails off
"A fuck buddy?" I finish for him
"Yeah" he chuckles
"Well Ariana thinks differently. She boasts how you two are dating and are in love." I say trying to hide my jealousy
"All the girls who've been in her place do that. They should know that when it comes to dating, girls like them aren't my type. I only stick with them cause they're an easy lay" He shrugs
"Such a boy" I roll my eyes
"What about you?" He asks. I frown in confusion.
"Me?" I say confused
"Yeah. You. I've seen you all buddy buddy with the twins, especially Jackson." He says
"Huh?"
"Lex. He's constantly flirting with you and you keep blushing and giggling when you're with him." He points out
"Well I mean who wouldn't blush when a hot guy with a hot British accent flirts with you. Plus he's funny, hence the giggling." I say
"Soooo? Do you like him??" He asks
"I...don't know." I say
"You don't know?"
"I don't know." I say
"What do you mean?" He asks
"I mean I don't know...he's a great guy and all but there's this other guy who's really got my heart going crazy." I say smiling lightly. I took a glance at him and my smile grew wider. If only he knew I was talking about him...
I will admit that my crush on Cole hasn't gotten any smaller. It refuses to leave. I mean come on give me a break, it's Cole Reynolds for fucks sake. If you were in my shoes, wouldn't you fall in love with him? Especially when he's been nothing but kind, helpful and caring to you.
"Okay. So who is this guy?" He questions
"That's for me to know and you to find out." I laugh. A part of me wanted him to find out but another part of me didn't.
"Awww come on!!" He whines
"Nope! Sorry not sorry" I chuckle
"Okay fineeee." He pouts
The curiosity in me was scratching my insides and pleading me to ask him. I know he'll say that he doesn't like anybody. I don't think relationships are his thing. I mentally sighed as I lost the battle with my curiosity and asked him
"What about you? Any girl who caught your eye?" I ask him. I watch as a huge smile spreads across his face. My heart aches when I find out that there is. I had a 0 chance with him...now I have -100.
"She didn't just catch my eye. She caught my mind and is in the process of catching my heart." He says
"What do you mean 'caught your mind'" I ask
"She's all I ever think about. She caught my mind and now I keep thinking about her." He smiles
"Poor girl though. You and Ariana are always together. She must feel heartbroken." I say
"I doubt she likes me back." His smile became sad looking
"Well then that girl's crazy. Who wouldn't like you?"
"Have you even tried to make a move on her? So far the only girls I see you with is Ariana" I say. He smiles sheepishly.
"You haven't?!?!" I exclaim. He shakes his head, no.
"I think she likes someone else." He says
"Cole. If you really truly like this girl, then go after her. Don't let her slip away." I advise him
Even though it pains me to know Cole likes someone else, I want him to be happy. Just thinking about this girl put a smile on his face. Cole deserves happiness. If he's happy, then I'm happy. I think...
"I wanna meet this girl." I say
He chuckles and mumbles to himself. I look at him confused but he just smiles at me
"Maybe one day, Lex. Maybe one day."
I hope my feelings go away when this day comes.
We arrived at the beach and placed our stuff where not much people were. I told Cole that I would go buy a drink but in all honesty,I wasn't. I was gonna buy a bathing suit. I don't have any because,like I said, it's been a long time since I went to the beach. I also didn't need a bathing suit since I didn't think I'd be swimming again in the future.
After a while, I was able to buy a dark blue one piece. The problem was that the back was really low and the suit is really fitting. I forgot swimsuits clung to you so tightly...Well I guess it's better than those bikini's. I put on my shorts and shirt on top of the swimsuit.
I went back to where Cole was and found him with two girls in bikinis that barely covered what was needed to be covered. I rolled my eyes at the girls and made my way over to them. Cole noticed me coming and relief flooded his face. He put his arm around my waist and grinned widely.
"Well girls, it was lovely chatting but I'd like to spend some quality time with my GIRLFRIEND." He emphasizes "girlfriend"
The girls looked at me and scowled. Their eyes roamed over my body. Their face turned to a disgusted one when they finished looking at me.
"This...thing...is your girlfriend? Is that some sort of joke?" One of them said
"A hottie like you with a slob like her? Yeah right. Like we'd believe that." The other said
"You can do sooo much better babe" Slut 1 says. She touches Cole's arms and rubs it up and down. Cole pulls his arm back and glares at her. His grip on my waist tightens a bit and his whole body is tense.
"Who the hell are you calling slobs? Yourselves?" He says
"Because as far as I know,my girlfriend here is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She doesn't need fancy clothes or skimpy clothes. She's naturally beautiful. A beauty you two will never have." He scowls at them
"Now leave us." He says coldly
The girls roll their eyes and walk away from us, swaying their hips in the process. Cole rolls his eyes and looks at me. Throughout this whole situation, I just stood there in complete and utter shock. First, Cole says I'm his girlfriend. Now he gets mad and defends me when those girls called me a slob. How can I not be shocked?
"Are you okay?" He asks
"Don't listen to those girls. They're just jealous." His jaw clenches. I knew he was mad. I needed to change the topic and fast.
"...what the fuck is a slob." I say. He looks at me confused and then amused. He didn't look so mad anymore. He even had a grin on his face.
"I've been called many many things in the past but never a slob. Like isn't that the dog saliva?" I say
"That's all you got from the conversation?" He asks with amusement in his voice
"I heard what you said but we both know that's a lie." I say
"It wasn't." He argues
"Cole, we've had this conversation many times before. Let's focus on the important thing right now. What. In the fuck. Is a slob." I say. He laughs loudly and hugs me.
"I don't know what it is but I'm pretty damn sure you're not one." He says
"Now let's continue our day at the beach...girlfriend" he smirks
My face immediately goes red and I hit him in the shoulder. He laughs at my reaction
How I wish it were true though...
