Seven Months and Twenty - Three Days
"Come on Rosalynna." I hear Ricardo say, I had been waiting in my room for over two hours because he wanted to have this so called surprise ready for me. As I got closer to the stairs Ricardo came closer to me putting a blindfold over my eyes.
"This is not Fifty Shades of Grey, Ricardo take this off of my eyes." I say trying to lift the blindfold off of my eyes before saying one of the similar threats my parents would give when I'd act out, "If I fall down these stairs I will kill you as soon as I recover, then revive you and kill you all over again."
"You sound like my mom now be quiet, I got you." He says placing my hand into his as he helped me from falling down the steps. With each step my heart jumped thinking I'd fall, and no it was not because of the blindfold either but because even when I walk down these stairs by myself there is a fear of just tumbling down like a bowling ball. Finally we reached the bottom of the steps as Ricardo guided me through the house, he sat me down on what seemed to be a chair in the dining room, soft and comfortable I adjusted to the seat and began to relax, "You can take off the blind fold." Ricardo tells me.
I slowly take off the blind fold trying not to completely make my curls stick up from everywhere like I had rubbed a balloon against my head. Opening my eyes the table in front of me was lit up, a cake with candles, balloons and presents sat on the table. The cake in the shape of a large heart, blue whipped icing outlined the cake, and little hearts were also placed on the cake, "This is so cute, thank you, you didn't have to. Do I just blow them out so we can eat it?" I question as I eye down the cake, my mouth began to water.
"Yeah you can."
Just as I was leaning to blow out the multiple candles song started to erupt in my ears, "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, " the familiar voices stopped me before I blew out the candles, looking up I almost cried seeing the faces of my mother, brother, sister, my nephew, Raven, and Logan.
"Make a wish." My mother, Allison says to me with a smile attached to her lips. Blowing out the candles I just wished for happiness, that no matter what happens after this pregnancy I would be happy that everyone would be happy. I got out of my seat when I finished, giving my mother a hug, holding her close as tears began to fall down my face. I missed my mother more than anything in this world, and this surrogacy helped me pay for her surgeries to keep her in this world.
"I missed you," I whisper to her as she lets go of me.
My mother's hand traveled to my round stomach causing kicks to flutter in my stomach, "Woah they must like me." She comments when she stops rubbing my stomach I turn to my sister Rosalía who opens her arms to me, I hug her tightly as my nephew Daniel hugs my leg. Letting go of her I lean down giving Daniel a kiss on his forehead.
"I missed you sis." My brother Julian says coming over giving me a quick hug also.
"Cut the cake." My mother says handing me a knife, cutting into the cake, a red velvet filling was displayed after getting my piece I couldn't even take a bite before my face was shoved into the slice of cake I had cut for myself. A tradition mainly my father's side of the family enjoyed and my brother decided to continue. I groaned as Julian laughed while I wiped the cake from my eyes. Ricardo handed me a towel but before he could walk away his face was covered in my piece of cake, I shoved the piece on his face while I snatched the towel from him with my other hand, "That's enough, " my mother says, "Just a waste of good cake."
I let Ricardo deal with the cake mushed on his face while I decide to talk to my sister, "So how have you been?" I ask as I sit next to her at the table.
"I've been good." She responds, "But I am mad at you."
"For what?"
"You didn't tell me that you two were together." She says eyeing down Ricardo who was looking over at us as he wiped his face free of icing and cake.
"We aren't though, you heard about what happened with Lucy right? That's why I have to stay here."
"Girl you are getting paid more than I could get in half a year, if you wanted to get out of here you could." She comments as she squints her eyes at me as if that would help her get point across.
I shrug, "So, maybe I am saving money up."
She shook her head, "Save up for what? It is literally only you, you have no one to take care of. You are literally going to give the babies straight to him after birth."
"I get what you are saying but actually he wants my help --"
"So you're going to help him? You don't owe him anything, you're already giving him the offspring he wants." I could tell she was frustrated, "And he likes you, that's why he wants you to stay, if he truly needed help he would have nannies or take them to daycare or even better, utilize his family."
I made a scoffing noise, "He's just my friend, there is no reason for you to believe he likes me."
"He literally last minute went out, bought you presents -- cause we sure as hell didn't -- then he came and got us and brought us over here, got a customized cake, and he decorated all for you. I couldn't even get my ex to buy me flowers."
"Yeah but you did get your ex to knock you up huh?"
"If you weren't pregnant I would hurt you," she jokes, "but you know I'm right." She says as she looks towards Ricardo who now is throwing Daniel into the air as he laughs as he catches him. The small get together went on with Logan, Julian, and Ricardo doing drinking games, my mother even participated in one or two, I opened presents that apparently were all from Ricardo, and we all played different games that were meant for baby showers. We played pin the tail on the donkey, they tried to guess how many tissue tiles could fit around my stomach, and guess the genders because Ricardo and I hadn't told anyone.
"I love you, take care of her for me Ricky." My mother says placing a kiss onto my forehead before exiting Ricardo's home, Raven was taking them home so no one would have to grab a taxi and Ricardo was too intoxicated to drive. The door closed behind my family and Ricardo engulfed me in his embrace.
"Did you like your party?" He questioned, the alcohol aroma swept my senses are he hugged me tighter, my stomach halted him from coming any closer, "I tried so hard to make it the best ever."
"Yes I liked the party. You did really good Ricky." I said with him still holding onto me, "Come on, let's get you to bed."
"Someone wants to get in my b.e.d." His voice came out as if he was trying to sing. I got out of his hold and grabbed his hand leading him towards the stairs, "You don't have to rush Rosa." His arm went around my shoulders weighing me down as we got closer to the stairs.
"Ricky you have to stop leaning on me, I'm still pregnant."
"Aww I'm sorry my little babies," he says as he put his hands onto my stomach, "Daddy is so sorry."
I laughed a little as he then went behind me trying to hold me up as we went up the steps. If I had fallen he definitely would have tumbled to the bottom with me especially with the weight I had gained. Making it up the stairs took even longer, with Ricardo stopping on the stairs acting sleep, crawling up the stairs, and even attempting to slide down the railing. I wish someone would have told me Ricardo is the type of person to be jumping off the walls when drinking.
"Ricardo no get in the bed." I say as Ricardo runs into his bathroom trying to take a shower fully clothed.
"I'm going to take a shower."
"Fully clothed? Ricardo come on just go to sleep."
"You want me naked? Strip tease?" He questioned as he slowly caressed his body. He did a twirl as he reached for his belt, taking it off and whirling it around before throwing it to the ground, "I should've been in Magic Mike."
"Ricardo you need some sleep it's been a long night."
"You haven't seen long yet." He says as he in one swift move takes off his shirt and starts to come closer.
"Ricardo I'm not joking."
"Neither am I." He says evoking laughter to travel out of my throat, "You know what you don't deserve my lusciousness anyways." He yanks his shirt back off the ground making a pouting face like a sad five year old. I went closer to him grabbing his hand trying to pull him towards his bed but he resisted, "If you're gonna make me sleep then you have to sleep with me."
"No Ricky."
He pouted even more, "Why not? You're already having my babies."
I shook my head, "I'm big and pregnant I don't want to be in a bed with anyone."
"But I won't bother you I promise." He says. I shake my head at him trying to pull him again but he just stood there. Not even a flinch. I kept trying to move him until he moved and took me with him. My body fell onto the bed, he laid down towards the back, he grabbed me by my waist placing me next to him, my heart began to race. My stomach weighted me down even as I tried to get up I couldn't, and snores errupted in my ears.

Hello readers I just started my Junior year I'm high school, and I just started my first job so I apologize for the late updates but I'm trying my best. This book used to be really badly written so I'm trying to make it better also so if you have any ideas comment, and you just may see your ideas in the story.
