Eva
"Thanks again Pharah" I said as she walked out my office. It has actually been a few weeks since I have seen Kavon. I have no idea why it is bothering me, but it is badly.
I got a knock on my office. "Come in" I said politely as I checked my work e-mail. My head looked on the side of the computer and the last person I thought I would see came in.
In came my boss "Hello Mr. Epson" I said with a smile. A pure fake one.
"Hey Eva.." He said as he sat down. This was the kind of white man that would be all up under me. He will do anything for anyone to have my position. Racist self. He hasn't because no one can top my effort, love for the job and plus I am a perfectionist.
"I have looked around the office and everything I mean everything exceeds Vogue standards!" I began to smile. "I mean I really love what you are doing" He said.
By now I was cheesing "Thank you so much Mr. Epson, it mean a lot!"
I can't believe he was actually complimenting me. I feel as if I have achieved something in this company.
He smiled then he walked out. Thank God. I sighed of relief them sipped on my lemonade.
Cedric has dropped all communication with me. I could care less and let his ass slip up he won't have a job! Trust me.
I continued my work. I actually began to get tired. It was now five and I am ready to go!
"Hey Eva need anything else before I go?" Pharah asked.
"Nah girl, you good!" I said with a smile.
She smiled then waved. I attended back to my work bummed out. I haven't seen Kavon in weeks. I kind of wanted to see him. To take my mind off things I decided to splurge on myself a bit.
After going to the mall. I placed the Prada,Coach, Versace and Burberry bags in my backseat. I got into the driver's seat and started my Infiniti. Now, I gave my car life, finally zooming out the lot. My phone began to ring, letting me know I have an incoming call.
"Hello"
"Evaaaa" Hazel voiced through the phone.
"Whats up love?"
"So I wondering if you would like to come with RJ and I to Typhoon Lagoon at Disney" I don't remember the last time I have been to Disney. One time daddy had a meeting and Evan and I got a chance then but that was only for a few hours.
I nodded my head "Okay when?"
"This weekend"
"Hazel that is in two days, do you have the way of transportation?"
"Riley already paid for the plane tickets and the tickets for the water park"
Riley is a really good dad and husband.He has always been though. I am not sure what he does but whatever does it pays very well. Hazel and Riley have been married for five years and it looks wonderful.
"Well how could I not say no" I said and we both laughed.
The call was soon ended and I was now home. I sighed as I threw the keys on the couch. I got comfortable and laid down in bed.
Kavon
"Hey King" Lisa said with a smile as I entered the warehouse. I smiled then continued walking till I got in my office. I looked through some shit and more shit.
Riley came into my office "Riley my nigga! Whats up?" I said as we dapped and he sat down.
"Not shit not shit, working, being a daddy and husband same shit" He said. I swear he is such a cool nigga. We met about five years ago. Been cool ever since.
"How is lil dude?" I asked referring to his son RJ.
"He good! Matter fact I am sending him and Hazel to this water park up in Orlando!"
I could tell he cared a lot about his family. Must feel great, but all that can wait for me. I am not exactly ready.
"Sounds nice they going to have hella fun!" I replied.
"Oh yeah maybe I could hook you up with her cousin, Eva"
"Eva... Marks? I met her I don't know yet though, she fine as hell. What if she is expecting too much of me?" I stated honestly.
"I feel you but look if it happens if happens, Imma tell you this you can be in love and still shoot niggas!" He said and got up. I couldn't help but laugh my ass of that is why he my nigga.
My mind suddenly went back to Eva, again. I haven't seen her in a couple of weeks, I wonder how she is doing. I don't even have her number. I sighed then lit a blunt. I have to get my mind off this girl.
Eva
After checking into the hotel our suite Hazel and I just wanted to rest but of course RJ wanted to go everywhere else but the bed.
"Mama are we going to go see dolphins" Riley asked as we sat down and the Rain Forest Cafe and ate.
"No baby, mommy will be swimming so see her" She said and continued eating. Watching them interact urged me to want a child. Something of my own. A little mini me.
"So Eva who you been eyeing lately.. I can answer that Kavon" She said and smirked. I started to blush and smile while looking down.
"Okay, Hazel we are not little kids" I said with a light laugh. "I haven't seen him in like three weeks so I doubt I ever will... again"
"Awh don't act so sad, you two will see each other again if I have something to deal with it because" She covered RJ's ears then whispered "We need to get the real thing instead of just using dildos"
"Hazel!" I said surprisingly, then laughed "That mouth of yours!"
We both laugh "And for your information I don't use those" I smiled. Just then Hazel's phone rung and she had no hesitation in answering it.
"Hey baby"
"Yeah, we are eating now"
I watched as she gave the phone to RJ and he spoke "Hey daddy, no mommy and Auntie E"
He handed the phone back to Hazel and the call was ended.
Hazel and I were now up watching Life Time. Little Riley had to go to sleep, not only because Hazel told him to but also because he was so excited about the water park tomorrow. I go a text from an unknown number.
Unknown "Eva?"
Me "Yes, This is?"
Unknown "Kavon, how are you sweetheart?"
I smiled so damn hard "What you smiling for?" Hazel asked as she turned her head away from the tv.
"Nothing.." I said and she turned around and continued watching the movie.
Me "I am good what about yourself?"
Kavon "I am good, but I would be better if you would open the door"
Open the door? I looked at Hazel who was into the movie. I slowly got up. I crept to the door. What if he is just fucking with me and he is not here. I looked through the peephole and there he stood. KD's, Adidas sweats and a KD hoodie. I quietly opened the door. I smiled and he did also.
"Hey, how you know I was in Orlando" I asked as we hugged.
"Riley and I" Hazel said which made me turn around. I couldn't help but laugh. Then I smiled when I looked at Kavon.
"Well I will leave you two here and I will be sleep in the other room with my baby, night yall" She said and left.
Kavon and I sat on the couch. "So what you been up to?"
I tucked one of my legs up under the other and said "Nothing working, I am actually glad that I got this little mini vacation what about yourself"
"I work all day and make sure Pharah is good" I love the way he is about his sister. It is just absolutely cute to me. I wish I had an older brother.
"What about your parents" I asked. He looked at me like he didn't want to really talk about it "Never mind, don't tell me" I didn't want him to feel uncomfortable.
"I will tell you anyways,which is weird cause Pharah doesn't even know" As he began to tell me the story, I could already tell this was going to be a sad one because he talked slowly and with fear. At the end of the story I wanted to cry no child should witness such trauma. We began to share more and more about each other.
It was now two in the morning and we were still talking. By now we were talking about funny things that has happened to us. There was some space between us on the couch but my legs were in his lap. After talking for two long hours I began to fall asleep. And when I did feel sleepy, I was in his arms.
