Paul's handsome face darkened. "What do you mean?"

Eva glared at him, turned around, and ran away without saying anything.

When Paul came to his senses, she had already run away.

Paul was so angry that his face turned livid. He kicked the luxury car.

He wanted to vent his anger but kicked an iron plate, and his toes cracked!

Paul was carried into the emergency room with the doctor's and assistant's help.

When she heard from the nurse that Amelia had woken up, Stella immediately came to the VIP ward with the stethoscope.

Stella went forward to check on Amelia's condition. When she found no sign of infection on the back of her head, Stella breathed a sigh of relief.

"Ms. Garcia, the back of your head has been operated on. We need to observe if it's infected. There won't be any big problems, but..."

Stella paused for a moment and looked at Amelia with some regret. "Your heart is getting worse. I'm afraid you won't be able to hold on for much longer."

Amelia had long known about her physical condition, so she didn't care. "How long... can I hold on?"

Stella put her hands into her pockets and stared at her pale face. "A week or so."

If Amelia hadn't suffered such a severe injury, she could live another two months.

But the back of her head was pierced by a nail, causing her heart to accelerate. It was already a medical miracle that she could hold on for another week.

Stella couldn't help but gasp when she thought of the scene of the nail on the back of her head.

"Ms. Garcia, who nailed the back of your head to the nail?"

James only sent a message to Stella, telling her that Sherry, Emily, and he had taken action against Amelia and asked Stella to save Amelia as soon as possible.

But he didn't tell Stella who caused Amelia's injuries.

Stella guessed it might have been caused by a group fight, but she didn't believe James would participate.

Stella didn't know what was happening then, so she could only ask Amelia.

There was a trace of loneliness in Amelia's eyes. Soon, she lowered her long eyelashes to hide them.

Amelia was silent and seemed unwilling to speak, so Stella did not mention it again. She turned around, picked up a paper bag, and handed it to Amelia.

"This is what you left in the mall. A nurse brought it back for you. I put it here for you."

Stella put the paper bag on the bedside table and said softly to Amelia, "Have a good rest. If you feel uncomfortable, ring the bell."

After saying that, she turned around and was about to leave, but Amelia stopped her. "Stella..."

Stella turned around to look at her. "Hm? Are you feeling unwell anywhere?"

Frowning, Amelia looked at the paper bag on the bedside table and said, "There's a bottle of perfume... for you."

Stella was taken aback. She followed Amelia's line of sight and looked at the paper bag. Then, she looked back at her and asked, "You.... went to the mall to buy me perfume?"

Amelia nodded, looking gentle and kind. "You gave me so much medicine. I want to thank you..."

The shock in Stella's eyes gradually turned into gratitude. Tears welled up in her eyes, making her at a loss.

Stella stood rooted to the spot for a few minutes before walking up to Amelia again. Stella touched Amelia's pale face.

"Ms. Garcia, I'm sorry. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have met Sherry. It's all my fault."

Amelia couldn't see Stella's expression clearly but could feel her apology. She smiled. "It has nothing to do with you."

She had overestimated herself and wanted to give Sherry the same punishment as her.

However, she had forgotten that she was too insignificant and could not afford to offend these powers.

In exchange for this, she deserved it.

She deserved to offend someone and fall in love with someone she shouldn't have.

Seeing the despair on her face, Stella's heart ached. Stella could not help but bend down and hug her.

"Ms. Garcia, thank you."

Stella hugged her gently and pulled Amelia back from her thoughts. It took Amelia a lot of effort to raise her hand and pat Stella on the back.

"Thank you for saving me. If it weren't for you, I'm afraid I wouldn't have had the chance to say goodbye to my sister."

After Eva ran away, a nurse checked on Amelia and told her that Ms. Cobb had rushed over to save her in time.

Although she didn't know why Stella had rushed over to save her, she would never forget her kindness. There was no need to ask any more questions.

"Actually, Mr. Evans...."

Stella wanted to tell her that Mr. Evans had asked her to save her. Still, before Stella could finish her words, Amelia interrupted her. "Stella, where is my sister, Eva?"

Two hours had passed, but Eva had not come back yet. Amelia was worried that something would happen to Eva.

Stella had only been paying attention to Amelia and did not notice that Eva was not in the ward.

Stella looked around and said to Amelia, "I'll send someone to look for her."

Amelia thanked her and looked at the paper bag on the bedside table. "Stella, take that bottle of perfume."

Stella wanted to refuse, but Amelia used her life to exchange it. It would be unreasonable if she didn't accept it.

After taking away the perfume, Stella told Amelia to rest well. Then Stella turned around, walked out of the ward, and called several security guards to check the surveillance footage.

Eva ran out of the hospital in the surveillance video and accidentally bumped into Paul. There seemed to be some quarrel between them.

But there was no significant conflict. After a few words, Eva ran out of the hospital without her in the surveillance video.

Stella pointed to Eva on the monitor and said to the security guards, "Send a few people to get her back."

The security guards immediately took the order and went to find Eva.

After dealing with these things, Stella returned to Amelia's ward.

Seeing that Amelia had fallen asleep and the nurse was taking care of her carefully, Stella was relieved and returned to her office.

Eva didn't know where she had gone. After running for a long time, she found the corridor and sat in it all night.

When the security guard came over and asked if she was Eva Miller, she came to her senses. She looked at the security guard and nodded blankly.

The security guard breathed a sigh of relief and said to her anxiously, "Ms. Miller, go back to the hospital quickly. Ms. Cobb is looking for you everywhere."

Eva was stunned. At the urging of the security guards, she got up and followed them into the car.

After returning to the hospital, Eva met Daniel, who was going through the discharge formalities at the hospital branch on the first floor.

Daniel was surprised when he saw Eva and asked why she was here. Eva did not reply to him.

Being stared at by Eva's big eyes that could see through everything, Daniel felt a little scared and subconsciously looked away.

"Honey..."

Daniel called out uneasily and then asked with a guilty conscience. "The doctor said my sister's fetal condition is unstable, so she'd better stay near the hospital before the child is born. I think our house is quite close to the hospital. Why don't you let her stay there for a while?"

She was pregnant, but they still had to do it crazily. How could the fetus be stable?

Eva wanted to spit on him, but she held back for some reason.

There was something wrong with Eva, which was that she lacked love since she was a child and could be easily moved.

At the same time, one good thing about her was that she could quickly scoff at those who had betrayed her.

Eva glanced at Daniel indifferently. There was no love in her eyes at all, only disgust.

"Suit yourself."

After saying that, Eva passed by Daniel expressionlessly as if she didn't care about it at all.

Seeing Eva in a daze, Daniel wanted to catch up with her and ask her why she was in the hospital, but his arm was held by Lina.

"Did she agree to let me stay at your house?"

Daniel nodded, his eyes still fixed on the departing figure of Eva.

Lina's face darkened, and he shook Daniel's arm hard.

"Don't tell me you're interested in her. We agreed that you would only use her as a tool to make money and get a high-end house for our child and me in the city."

Daniel came back to his senses and patted Lina to comfort her. "Don't worry, I won't fall in love with a nightclub girl."

Eva returned to the ward and stood at the door but dared not go in.

It wasn't that she didn't dare to face Amelia, but that she couldn't face her departure.

Eva hugged her arms tightly and slowly squatted against the wall as if the world had abandoned her. She looked extremely helpless.

When Stella took a group of doctors for inspection, she saw Eva. She quickly asked other doctors to do their work while she went forward to help Eva up.

"Ms. Miller, are you all right?"

Eva shook her head stiffly.
Stella looked at Eva's swollen eyes and took a deep breath.

"Ms. Miller, life and death are up to fate. No one can change it. What you can do now is to spend more time with her so as not to have any regrets in the future."

Stella's words woke Eva, and a trace of vitality returned to her dull eyes.

"How long... can she live?"

After thinking for a long time, Eva asked in a hoarse voice.

Stella did not hide it from her and answered honestly, "About a week..."

Eva's body swayed, and she almost fainted.

Stella helped her and said, "You have to hold on now. Don't fall down. Otherwise, what should Ms. Garcia do?"

Eva was a little absent-minded and nodded. "Yes, I have to hold on. I can't let Amelia worry about me..."

Eva muttered to herself as she struggled to walk into the ward, exhausted.

Through the glass window, Stella saw Eva sitting in front of Amelia's bed and cared her cheek.

The sunlight shone on the two poor people, shining with a gentle golden light, which seemed to warm them.

Only then did Stella understand why Amelia had saved money for Eva, After all, they depended on each other for survival.

When she thought of how she had been alone all these years and had never had anyone to rely on to keep her company, Stella suddenly felt sad.

Stella looked down and turned to leave, leaving the two with little time left.

Amelia hadn't woken up yet and was still in a coma. Eva took the towel from the nurse and wiped her body.

Eva seemed to have calmed down. When Amelia woke up, there was a gentle smile on Eva's face.

"Amelia, is there anything you want to eat? I'll buy it for you."

Hearing Eva's hoarse voice, Amelia was relieved.

Frustrated, Amelia touched Eva's clothes and clenched them tightly.

"Eva, are Daniel and his sister alright?"

Eva didn't expect that when Amelia woke up, the first person Amelia cared about was her.

It took Eva a lot of effort to calm down, and she almost collapsed again.

Eva resisted the urge to cry and comforted Amelia. "It's okay. They... have a good relationship with each other."

This must be why Amelia hadn't told her since she found out she was in the late stage of heart failure. Amelia was afraid that she would be worried.

Just like now, she didn't want Amelia to worry about her at the last moment, so she lied out of kindness.

Frowning, Amelia couldn't see the expression on Eva's face clearly, so she believed her. "That's good..."

After saying that, she touched her hand along Eva's clothes and frowned slightly when she found her hand cold.

"Eva, why are your hands so cold? Did you catch a cold outside?"

Amelia grabbed Eva's hand tightly and put it under her blanket without waiting for Eva's reply.

"Let me warm you up."

Eva couldn't help but feel a lump in her throat. Tears rolled down her cheeks and fell on the back of Amelia's hand, freezing Amelia.

Amelia wanted to wipe away Eva's tears, but before she could do so, her wrist was grabbed by Eva.

"Amelia, can't you... see it?"

Eva held Amelia's hand and stared into her eyes in shock.

This time, Amelia didn't hide anything from Eva. She nodded in relief and said, "It's probably because of the heart failure..."

Some time ago, when she was dizzy, her vision would be blurred, but she didn't expect that when she woke up this time, she couldn't see anything.

Seeing Amelia like this, Eva instantly burst into tears again. Eva threw herself on the bed, hugged Amelia, and cried.

Amelia didn't try to persuade Eva to stop crying. Instead, she hugged Eva back. While patting Eva on the back, she comforted Eva in a low voice, "I'm fine..."

It didn't matter if she couldn't see it or not. Anyway, she could sleep forever after death. She would get used to it in advance.
