An hour later and more than a few drinks in my system is enough to have me stumbling all over the place. Newt had tried to stop me about three drinks in, but I pushed him away. I need this. Just one night of carefree fun. No rules. No fighting.
"Frypannn!" I shout, stumbling over to the cook. He grins and laughs when he sees me, waving me over.
"Hey, Venus! Little tipsy, I see?"
"Aw, no man! I'm perfect! Completely sober!" I say loudly. Frypan places a hand on my shoulder to steady me.
"You need some water, dude."
"No, I need another drink!" I reply, looking around frantically. "Where the hell are they?"
"Girl, you do not need another drink! I think you've had enough!"
"No." I insist. "I'm fine." Frypan rolls his eyes.
"You're gonna regret it tomorrow." He says, raising an eyebrow. "Don't say I didn't warn you."
I flip him off, walking away. I suddenly feel the urge to talk to everyone. I grab another drink, making my way from group to group, a social butterfly ready to spread her wings.
Chatter rings out around me as I make my way around the Glade. Playful smacks on the shoulder and laughter becomes normal. Hands occasionally brushing up against one another becomes regular. Having the liquor coursing through my body is making me more social than I've ever been, and I'm growing to love it.
I spot Gally out of the corner of my eye, his arms strained, even as he easily shoves Doug out of the fight circle. My face heats up, my eyes locked on him. God, he's so beautiful. His chest heaves up and down, sweat coating his body as he raises his arms in the air, his fists pumping up and down. Cheers and hollers are ringing out around him, every Glader celebrating his victory.
My feet are suddenly moving towards him, my mind cloudy due to the many drinks I ingested. I stumble over to him, a grin on my face.
Gally's POV~
I can feel the adrenaline still coursing through my veins as I celebrate my victory. Boys come up to me and high five me, some clapping me on the back or dapping me up. A grin is plastered on my face.
That's when my eyes lock with hers. She's making her way towards me, a lopsided smile on her face and a drink clutched in her hand. I frown slightly at the odd behavior. She looks drunk, but that's so unlike Venus. She hates getting drunk.
She finally reaches me, taking a swig of her drink before breaking into a fit of laughter.
"Hi, Gally!" She exclaims, her voice loud and clear, breaking through the chatter around us. I know something's off. She's never done this before. She'd be embarrassed if she saw someone acting the way she is now.
"You been drinking?" I ask, the frown still plastered on my face.
"Just a little." She replies, her words slurred together. "I'm fine though!"
"Venus, how many drinks have you had?" I ask, but she doesn't respond. Instead, she takes my hand with her free one, intertwining our fingers and pressing her chest against mine. She looks up at me through her lashes, a small smile on her face.
"We should go." I hear her say, her voice surprisingly soft and steady. I shake my head, shaking myself out of my trance.
"How much have you had to drink, Ven?" I repeat, gently prying the glass out of her other hand and handing it to one of the boys behind me.
"Hey! Give me that back, you thief! That was mine!" She shouts, poking my chest with her finger and glaring at me.
"No. That's enough. I'm cutting you off."
"That's not fair! You're not the boss of me, thief!"
"You'll thank me tomorrow." I reply, crossing my arms. She huffs out a sigh before suddenly smiling again, grabbing onto my bicep. God, her emotions change fast when she's drunk.
"C'mon, Wonder Boy! Let's go somewhere else and have some fun!"
"No, Venus. You're drunk. You don't even know what you're saying."
"I'm not drunk! I wanna go have some fun! Don't be boring!" She turns around, trying to pull me after her, but I stand firmly in my spot.
"Look, how about I go get you some water and you go to sleep? Doesn't that sound like fun?" I ask, raising an eyebrow as she huffs again, pushing a piece of hair behind her ear.
"It sounds boring." She mutters.
"Great. Let's go."

After one glass of water and lots of struggling, Venus is finally tucked into her bed and ready to go to sleep. I guess I never realized how persistent she tries to be when she wants something.
I pull another blanket over her, tucking in the edges slightly. Just as I'm about to walk away, a hand reaches out and grabs my arm. I turn around to see Venus staring at me, her eyebrows slightly furrowed.
"Don't you wanna stay?" She asks, her voice low.
"I was just gonna-"
"You don't wanna sleep with me?" Fuck. How do I respond to that. "Gally, don't you wanna sleep with me?" She asks again, a small smile teasing her lips.
Holy fuck, she's pretty. I shake my head, trying to shake the strange thoughts from my mind. I need to think clearly since she obviously isn't.
"Go to sleep." I whisper, pushing a piece of hair out of her eyes.
"But Gally, don't you wanna come to bed?" She asks.
"Ven, you're drunk. You don't know what you're saying. You'd regret it in the morning." I gently pry my wrist from her grip. "Go to sleep."
"But I don't want to all alone." She responds, her eyes darting back and forth into mine. "I want you to sleep with me."
"You'll be fine on your own."
"No I won't. What if I have a bad dream?" I sigh, running a hand over my hair before complying.
"Fine, but stay on your side, okay?" She nods eagerly, watching as I slowly lower myself into the farthest side of the bed, my back to her. The space between us doesn't last long.
Just a few seconds after I've layed down, I feel Venus's chest pressed against my back.
"Venus, what are you doing?" I grunt, gritting my teeth as she slowly leans over, pressing a kiss to my neck.
"Just giving my boyfriend a kiss goodnight." She whispers in my ear. The sound sends shivers down my spine. I clench my jaw as she presses more kisses from my neck to my shoulder.
"Go to bed, Venus." I say, but feel her pressing her palms into my shoulder until I'm laying flat on my back. "What're you-"
She cuts me off by cupping her hands behind my neck, bringing my face to hers and pressing a kiss to my lips. She tastes sweet and intoxicating, leaving the taste of liquor lingering on my lips.
I gently push her away much to my dismay.
"No, Ven. This isn't right." She pokes her bottom lip out. "It isn't a good idea."
"Why not?" She asks, her thumb running across my cheek.
"Because you're drunk."
"No I'm not. I promise. I can prove it to you." She says, gently lifting the hem of my shirt up and running her hands all across my torso before bringing them out and resting them on the fabric of my shirt. I fight the shivers that run up and down my spine at her touch. She grabs a fistful, holding the material steadily in her hands. "See?"
Still gripping onto my shirt, she pulls me up before mashing her lips back onto mine. God, the things she does to me. I forget reality for a second, getting fully lost in the taste of her lips on mine. She leaves a trail of kisses from my lips to my jawline, her fingers gently skimming the waistband of my pants. That snaps me back to reality. I push her away again, standing up quickly.
"No." I say sternly, walking to the wall farthest from her and leaning up against it, running a hand down my face.
"What, you don't wanna have sex with me?" She asks, her voice soft and innocent.
"No. Not while you're drunk." I reply, linking my hands behind my neck. "I want you to remember your first time, not be flat out drunk during it. I don't want you to regret it."
She lets out an irritated sigh before flopping down onto her side.
"Fine." She snaps, her arms crossing. I grab a few pillows and blankets and settle myself down on the floor by the foot of her bed. There's a long silence when I think she's already gone to sleep before I hear her say into the darkness of her hut, "Just for the record, I'd be great. Fantastic, in fact."
And after that, all I hear is silence.
