You watched as he hurried out of the class, and shuffled through the crowded halls, making no effort to talk to anyone. You scurried out of the corner you were hiding in, and chased after him. Today was the day you planned to actually speak to Niall.
You finally caught up to him as he entered another classroom, avoiding the snickers that erupted when he walked in. Nobody particularly liked Niall. Except you, of course. He was quite the nerdy type, and people used him as the perfect example of what not to be.
You picked a seat right next to him, and just stared at him. You knew it was creepy, but he was...he was just the kind of person that you could stare at without caring what he'd think. He turned and stared at you in return for a minute before he awkwardly cleared his throat.
"Is there a reason why you're sitting next to me?" He said, barely above a whisper. He avoided eye contact.
"Yes, actually," You smiled.
He ran his fingers through his light hair, causing you to giggle and squirm around in your chair. He raised an eyebrow at you, probably wondering what the heck was wrong with you.
His thoughts were cut short, though, when the teacher walked in and started speaking. But that didn't stop you. You just smiled and continued to stare at him, noticing his piercing blue eyes, and taking in his perfect features. You would never be able to understand how people could hate him.
"(Y/N), is everything alright?" You snapped out of your daze at the sound of your name. You looked up to see your teacher hovering above you.
Your eyes grew wide as you realized your teacher must have noticed you staring. You blushed a deep color, and quickly nodded. Your teacher still looked suspicious, but continued on with the lesson, nonetheless.
You looked down, and heard a couple derps laughing behind you. You turned around and saw two of the biggest idiots in the world, pointing and laughing at you.
One of them said, "(Y/N)'s crushing on the NERD!!"
You just rolled your eyes, knowing all too well that it was the truth. You faced the front again, but not before noticing Niall smiling at you. You smiled back, before quickly looking away.
After class was dismissed, a few kids continued to mess with you. You just pushed yourself through the school, relieved that it was the end of the day.
As you waited for your bus to arrive, you felt a hand pat your shoulder. You turned slightly, to see Niall standing next to you. He cleared his throat before looking into your eyes, and you melted immediately.
"I know I'm a nerd, and you probably just go home and laugh at how stupid I look everyday," He said. "But, I think you're special. And, I think you're pretty. And...um, I was wondering if maybe we could be friends, or ya know...if we could...um. Oh God. Maybe I could take you out someday?" He stuttered, while you giggled.
He looked at you with hopeful eyes, and you smiled. "I'd love to, Niall," You said, absolutely screaming on the inside. You'd waited so long for this to happen.
He charged forward and engulfed you in a bear hug, that he'd been wanting to give you for quite some time. You hugged him back, and kissed his cheek, as he blushed and giggled, taking your hand and leading you down the road to his house.
