A𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐮𝐝, knew nothing of her past but only three things; a) Her brother, b) Her name, and c) drowning.
The girl was heavily breathing while looking around the suffocating box, she tried plenty of solutions, banging, yelling... until she couldn't stand it anymore, searching on the boxes in front of her for a weapon, she grabbed it firmly in her hand before backing up further into the box.
Her fingers on her soft hair as she tried to stop her panicking down, this place smelt like garbage, the box suddenly jolted to a stop as she grabbed the weapon hiding it behind her; a sharp pocket knife.
She didn't know if she was stuck or if this nightmare has ended.
The gates suddenly opened as she let out a sigh of relief, Asterin thought she was stuck in here forever covering her eyes with her hand at the sudden burst of light hitting her eyes blinding her completely, "It's a girl!" A blonde guy snapped as he jumped down to where she was, scaring the living out of her, she backed away in fear, the guy had a buzz cut and was probably two years older than her.
"Welcome, Greenie." His hand was out as he watched the girl take it after what seemed to be 3 minutes, in a blink of an eye, she climbed up the box pushing past the 40 guys surrounding her before running without looking at the guys whistling and calling dips.
'What am I? You're fucking pet' she thought without looking at the guys behind her. Asterin ran as fast as she could toward the open walls. Newt looked at Minho with worry in his eyes before ordering him to go after her, Minho on the other hand rolled his eyes, he just came out and Newt wanted him to go back in. "Fine..." the guy grumbled in annoyance before taking after the girl.
She was a very fast runner.
Asterin looked around as soon as she was inside the maze, ivy in the grey huge walls, this place was also suffocating and creepy but she still continued her way to the right.
She could hear a screech from a distance, her stomach dropped once she realized where it was coming from, a hand suddenly was suddenly on her mouth from behind as she tried to push and kick whoever this person was, she struggled against the person grip, he was much stronger than her but stopped once a metal cling was right behind the wall where they were.
Eyes wide with fear, Asterin bit the person's hand trying to run away from this situation, fear and anger pulsing in her veins as a sudden rush of adrenaline rushed through her body in a blink of an eye as she backed away with wide eyes, looking at the guy in front of her who was trying not to groan in pain or else the griever will get them, Asterin looked at him with wide eyes.
She felt sorry for biting his hand but she was so afraid that she might die at that moment, she didn't know this person but he was very handsome; an asian guy with beautiful black hair, ravishing dark brown eyes and he was very muscular.
He was hot, very attractive to be exact.
Without a second thought, he grabbed her wrist and they both started running down the corridor, turning left and right. This time she didn't stop him, they were going to die if they stayed inside.
Both the teenagers ran down the corridor at a fast speed, Minho was making sure to keep an eye on her and behind to see if there was any griever behind. They both ran together until they reached the glade.
Falling to the ground, Asterin had her hand on her chest as she panted heavily trying to catch her breath, Minho stood beside her with a smirk on his face, and the girl looked up at him with a glare, her head snapped towards the walls who are slowly closing.
Minho gave her a smug grin, how can he smile when they were literally about to die inside that unknown place?
Asterin blinked, twice, before getting up and started heading towards some trees, Newt had a worried look and gestured to Minho to get her once again before something happens again, Asterin suddenly stopped dead in her track before turning around and facing the boys following her, taking the pocket knife she pointed it at the boys with a glare.
"If y'all follow me, I swear to god I'm going to cut you with-" Asterin cut herself as she stared at the knife with narrowed eyes, 'why did I pick the worse weapon?' Mentally slapping herself she pursed her lips together, the girl had the same accent as Frypan and spoke like him, they looked similar as well.
"-this knife, yes! I'll cut you with it!" With that she walked away in embarrassment leaving the boys confused and in awe at how harsh this girl was, Newt looked at Alby then at Minho who stood with a smirk on the corner of his dimples, a proud grin to be exact.
"Bloody hell, she's not an easy one..." Newt whispered to himself with a small smile on his lips, he was happy that a girl was with them and wasn't mad at her for going inside the maze, not even a single bit.
It was adorable how she was threatening everyone, thought Minho.

Asterin stayed the whole day alone, Newt was getting worried about the girl, she hadn't eaten all day ever since she came in the box and it was really unhealthy, especially after what she went through this morning, and that was why he was making his way up the ladder holding the delicious food Frypan made, knocking on the small opening, Newt peeked his head a little to see the girl already death glaring and pointing the knife at him.
"Brought you food?" Newt spoke softly while holding the bag in his hand showing it to the girl whose eyes lit up, she's been starving the whole day, and seeing this guy bring her food was so sweet that she forgot where she was and didn't know who he is.
"Come in." Newt sat beside the girl watching as she smiled at the food in front of her, with that she started eating, holding a piece of bread in her left hand and the spoon in her right hand. "This...is...delicious! I don't know who you are but you're a lifesaver!" Asterin exclaimed while munching quietly, Newt smiled softly at her before nodding his head.
Looking at the guy beside her she took a cookie from the box before handing it to him with a soft smile, Newt smiled back at her before taking the cookie from her hand biting on it, the chocolate melting in his mouth. "I'm Asterin, and I'm sorry about earlier..." she bit her lip nervously and sent the boy an apologetic look, Newt shook his head at the girl before responding gently.
"Oh no, it's nothing to worry about, these bloody shanks scared you, it's not your fault, and I'm Newt!" His voice was warm and it brought a spark of comfort in her heart, she felt safe and close to him, Asterin took his hand in hers shaking it softly.
"Nice to meet you, Newt, what a lovely name..." the girl awkwardly spoke as she looked at the bonfire going on, people were screaming cheerfully, drinking and, having fun, her eyes landed on the guy she saw earlier, the handsome asian guy who saved her life back in that place.
She should thank him.
He was very handsome, the black hair, ravishing dark brown eyes she can stare at her whole life and never get bored, an amazing posture, a sharp jawline that can cut paper easily, and how sporty he is. He was hot.
"Thank you so much, I also love your name" Newt thanked her with the most brilliant smile, she swore his smile was one of the best things that happened today, he lit up the mood like the sun.
He was a ray of sunshine. And her first friend in the maze.
