Sophie was talking on the phone with Harry, they met at the store a few days ago and they gave eachothers numbers, when she heard a very loud sound from the livingroom
"Hey, I'll call you in a few minutes" she said hanging up and going out of her room and into the livingroom to find Claire in front of the TV with the remote
"Mom!Why is the TV volume so
loud?" Sophie asked
"I don't know how to turn down the volume"
"Sophie, help me"
"PHIL!" Claire yelled
"PHIL!"
"Here!" Sophie said turning down the volume and handing her the remote and started turning around when Phil arrived
"Wooo,why was the volume so loud"
Sophie just continued walking to her room
Later, Sophie and Haley were on the couch while Phil tried to teach Haley how to control the remote and obligated Sophie to try and teach her too
"Okay, now Haley press the button labeled "Activities"
"And where is that?"
"It's just to the right,to the right. And now choose "Watch DVD"
"What?"
"Haley,you need to focus. We've only got 20 minutes"
"Why does she have to learn this?" Sophie asked
"Yeah,why?" Haley agreed
"Because,your Mom doesn't think you can"
"Nobody can" Haley said
"Girls,listen to me. I know this seems impossible,but this is for all those times that Mom told you she was right,and you know she was wrong"
"I'll do it" Haley said
"This is my girl" Phil said
Later
"Okay, are you ready?" Sophie asked
"Let's do this" Haley said
"Haley,turn on the TV" Claire said and Haley turned on the TV
"mute it".
"un-mute it now"
"Put on a DVD"
"Skip forward" After that sentence
Haley looked confused at the remote
"Wait"
"Ah!" Claire cheered
"Oh,right" Haley said skipping forward
"Okay,back to TV".
"Face!" Phil cheered
"Don't get all cocky,Phil. Let's see what happens to little Haley when I do this" Claire said turning it to cable
"Oh,oh,oh,oh. Face!"
"Sophie,w-what do I do?"
"Don't panic,we went through this just-just think" Sophie said
"Give up,give up. Admit defeat"
"Okay,uh,let's see. You put the remote on TV mode,and then press input till you get HDMI 1 and-" After that It went back to the TV
"I did it!" Haley yelled
"She did it!" Phil and Sophie yelled
Haley hugged both Phil and Sophie
"Fine,you proved your point,everybody in this house is smarter than me" Claire said
"No,honey,you're missing the point. I taught Haley how to use the remote in 20 minutes, so think how fast you can learn it"
In the night, Sophie was sleeping, when Claire entered her room
"Sophie,honey wake up"
"What is it?Why are you here?"
"I want you to teach me,how to use the remote"
"Why can't Dad teach you"
"Because,we're married"
In the livingroom
"That way,yeah" Sophie said
"And then press"
"Hmm,I got it" Claire said
"Mom,you did it!"
"I did it!"
Sophie and Claire hugged
"Thank you honey"
"No,problem Mom. Can I go back to bed now?"
"Yes,sure sorry. Goodnight sweetie"
"Night, Mom"
