You sit back down on Dan's bed and look around his room while he orders the takeaway food.
You've already seen most of these things in a few videos of his. You recognise the amber lamp in the shape of flames, the caricature of him and Justin Bieber, and the teddy bear with a lampshade head - along with a few other things.
You also see his 'box of secrets' on the chest of drawers. You've always wanted to know what's in there, but you won't open it - that would be a serious invasion of Dan's privacy.
The bedroom generally looks very tidy. The bed is neatly made, the floor is clear, and the furniture isn't dusty - you wish you could say all those things for your bedroom across the road.
You wonder if Dan shoves all his dirty clothes in his wardrobe, or if he tidies meticulously until everything is spotless. You know that in one of his videos a while ago, he was joking about clothes being hidden behind the picture above his bed, and a pile of socks being stored under the big cushion in the corner of the room.
Your thoughts are interrupted suddenly by the bedroom door opening. Dan comes in, noticing you looking around.
"Hi," you say, your voice slightly croaky. You clear your throat hurriedly, feeling yourself blush as he raises one eyebrow at you.
He laughs softly. "Was your voice croaky because you didn't talk for a while? I get that too. Don't worry."
"Yeah, it's very annoying," you agree, feeling a little bit less embarrassed. "I really like your room, by the way."
He does an over the top bow, nearly falling over. However, he quickly regains his balance. "Why, thank you," he replies, trying to sound posh - which doesn't really sound much different, because he's already quite posh sounding.
Oh, sorry, articulate.
He straightens up again and says, "The food should be here soon." While we're waiting," he pauses to sit down on the bed beside you; "Do you want to play twenty questions? I'd like to get to know you a bit more, if that's alright with you. You can ask first."

You nod, and think for a moment what you will ask him. It's hard to think of something you'd like to know. You decide to lie for a bit, seeing as you can't think of anything new. "Is being a youtuber your only job?"
"Yeah," he says with a laugh. "I'm not cut out to do anything else. I mean, can you imagine me as a mechanic or something?"
You laugh with him. You agree, it is kind of hard to imagine Dan doing anything other than YouTube for a job.
"Do you play any musical instruments?" he asks.
"(Yes, I play the ______/ no, I don't. I've never really been that type of person.)" you reply. You hesitate. You want to ask him something, but you're not sure whether to do it or not. You decide to ask him anyway. "Do you- um... do you have a girlfriend?... Or boyfriend?"
"No," he replies, a small smile on his face. "What about you?"
"Nope," you reply (rather smoothly, you think). "If you could go anywhere right now, where would it be?"
"Japan," he says immediately. "I've always wanted to go there. It's so cool! Anyway, my turn... have you ever broken any bones?"
"(Yeah, (how many, what bones, how you broke them)/no, I'm still in one piece! Not sure how I managed that.)" you reply. "Do you speak any languages?"
"Not fluently, but I can say a few phrases in German and French," Dan says, shrugging.
"Can you say something in German for me?" you ask.
"Oi, wait for your next turn!" he replies with a laugh. "Umm... do you watch anime?"
"(Yes, all the time! I watch _____/Yeah, a little bit/Nope, it never really appealed to me.)" you say, crossing your legs and fixing a wild strand of your hair. "Can you please say something in German for me?"
"Ich mag dich. There you go," he says, a light blush on his cheeks.

You're about to ask him what it means, but you hold your tongue, seeing as it's his turn and you don't want to annoy him. You make a mental note to ask about it later.
"What's your favourite colour?" he asks eventually.
"(Favourite colour/I don't have one in particular.) If you could change anything right now, what would it be?"
"I would make everybody happy. I'd cure all diseases, and make everybody be at peace with everyone else," he says, then pauses. "I could go on for a while... so what's your favourite season of the year?"
"(Spring, because _____/Summer, because _____/Autumn, because _____/Winter, because _____/I have no real favourite one/I like them all.) What's your favourite colour?"
Dan raises an eyebrow at you. "Really, Y/n? Really? Take a wild guess." He gestures around his room and to the clothes he's wearing.
"Green," you tease, rolling your eyes.
"It's actually blue, but good guess," he replies with a laugh.
"It's not black?" you ask, puzzled.
"No," Dan replies. "I think, maybe... maybe on a psychological level my liking for black clothes represents me emotionally, you know? Maybe one day I'll wear bright colours." He sees your astounded expression and rushes to take back what he says, but you interrupt as he opens his mouth.
"Don't. I understand. Maybe one day you will wear bright colours, and when that day comes, I'll be happy for you."
"Thank you," he says quietly. "Honestly, thank you so much."
You don't reply, just smile warmly.
"Do you want to continue with the twenty questions?" Dan asks.
"Food's here!" Phil shouts from the hallway.
You and Dan make eye contact and chuckle.
"Later?" he asks.
"Yeah."
