Michelle looked up at Lexie and smiled, after 4 hours of surgery, she still had it. All she had to do now was check if the heart was beating.
Christen watched down in anticipation as she looked at the monitor. Aquila and Diana, who had been staring at the screen the whole time, we're on the edge of their seats. Chris was thankful they weren't squeamish and had no problem with watching these kinds of stuff, in fact, they were actually very interested.
The whole gallery was silent, waiting for the heart to beat, waiting to see if the body did not reject the heart. So when it started beating, they all cheered, Christen sporting a proud smile on her face.
Michelle looked up at Lexie, who had a grin on her face, and gave her a nod.
"Okay Doctor Grey, it's time to close up."

Having a doctor as your wife is already overwhelming with all the reminders and stuff, but that mixed with 20 or more plus doctors dotting on you was a whole new level.
Turns out when Michelle told her she owned a hospital, she did not think it was this big and being employed by her wife and being a public figure, everyone was very cautious and Mitch's best friends started looking after.
More than Mitch ever did.
"I know a bunch of people in Switzerland that could come over here and look after your baby."
Meredith and Christen looked at Cristina.
"Thank you for the offer Doctor Yang, but I don't think that is needed."
"Addison is enough I think."
"I could give you an ultrasound, we wanna see how the baby is."
Christen's head turned to Arizona, who was giving her a hopeful smile. She looked over at Jackson Avery and Alex Karev, both of them carrying the twins, before sighing and giving them a nod. She sent a quick text over to her wife, telling her where they were going to be, before following the herd of doctors.

Michelle has already taken her gloves and surgical gown off and she was just washing her hands while her eyes are in the OR that was once again being sterilized.
She did not think she was ever going to get to perform surgery again, let alone in front of her pregnant wife and 2 kids.
Mitch and Lexie started walking down the hall. After receiving the text that they were going to get her ultrasound, they both decided to take a little breather and not add to the crowd in that room.
"Are you sure you don't want to be there for the ultrasound?"
Michelle chuckled and shook her head, her hands going to the pocket of her lab coat.
"We already got her ultrasound when we found out that she was pregnant. I don't know why they just can't ask for a picture of the ultrasound like normal people?"
"You and I both know that none of us are normal people."
Lexie shook her head while Michelle laughed, agreeing with her.
"I'm sorry I didn't get to visit you when you were shot 2 Christmases ago, I just could see you like that I-"
Michelle shook her head and looked at her best friend, a sympathetic smile on her face.
"I know, I know, I know you enough to know that seeing me in that position would affect you that way. I mean, that was not the first time I got shot, and probably not the last."
She playfully pushed Mitch making her chuckle. Michelle took a deep breath and looked around the hospital. This is where Isabella practically grew up, having to be here almost 24/7 and then flying to god knows where to go to work.
"I missed you here."
Mitch looked at Lexie with a smirk on her face.
"Of course you do."
"I mean you are literally the reason why I am standing here right now with the plane crash and all, and this is why I wanted you here, I want to be closer to you. I don't think I could stay here any longer."
Michelle looked at Lexie confused.
"I see these halls, all I could think about is Mark and I need a new change in scenery. I want to move on, I NEED to move on. And I need to get out of this state to do so, which leads me to my proposition."
This intrigued Michelle. She raised an eyebrow and looked at Little Grey intrigued.
"We're taking Sheperd-Sloan Memorial Hospital to Los Angeles and I need your help."

Christen looked around the lecture room, Tobin, Kling, Pinoe, and Sue sitting with her and the twins because they just finished doing other re-inc stuff and wanted to see Michelle's lecture.
"You're wife is literally the definition of perfect."
"So this is why I had a sprain she knew everything I had to do."
Chris chuckled and smiled at the side stage where you stood around talking to Lexie, Meredith, Owen, Jackson, and Andy joking around.
"You didn't know she owned this hospital?"
"I know she owns a hospital but I didn't think it was a hospital this big. I always thought it was like private practices or a bunch of clinics or something."
"And did you know she was a general surgeon?"
Christen hummed and nodded her head, her fingers going through Aquila's curly hair. Pinoe looked at the stage with an awestruck look on her face.
"That lab coat looks great on your wife."
Sue hit the back of Pinoe's head, giving her a look to say that she should stop oggling on Michelle, making their friends chuckle. Christen gave her a look before turning back to the stage when Doctor Miranda Bailey walked in front.
Bailey, Owen, Meredith, and Lexie already did their lecture so it was Michelle's turn. She strutted up to the front and smiled at everyone. They all sat at the edge of their seats, excited for whatever is about to come out of her mouth,
"Good afternoon everybody, my name is Doctor Michelle Press and I used to be an Attending here in this very hospital, a general surgeon."
Christen looked at Meredith, who had a smug smirk on her face making her chuckle, before looking back at all of the interns and residents that are in the room.
"Now, becoming a surgeon wasn't something that had ever been on my agenda, in fact, I never thought I would ever be one. But some things happened that made me change my mind."
She kept her arms behind her back and started walking around the stage.
"Something happened back when I was a junior in high school, and I felt so helpless. A father figure of mine, Burt Hummel, had a heart attack, and at the same time, my Abuelo had a brain aneurysm in Spain. I had always been known to be someone who would put myself in the line of danger, which is why ever since I was 13, I volunteered as a firefighter."
She pressed on a button and a picture of her as a 13-year-old wearing an oversized helmet. Diana and Aquila started pointing at the screen at someone who looked a little bit like them, leading them to believe that the three of them are somehow related to each other, which is honestly not wrong.
"I started volunteering because I almost died at a race track and Captain Andy Herrera here wasn't a hotshot but saved my life."
"The car in front of me burst into flames and I was going so fast that I did not realize what happened. The next thing I know, the front of my car was also set on fire and I got stuck at my seatbelt and the helmet was giving me a hard time breathing."
Michelle gave them a smile, noticing the concerned look on their faces.
"But I was pulled out just in time and here I am standing in front of you all. All because of Andy over there. Ever since, I have dedicated my life to saving other people, through music, being a firefighter, films, and being a surgeon."
"So after 4 years of Stanford, 3 years of Medical School at NYU, 5 years of residency, and a year of fellowship, this is what happened."
"I became a general surgeon. The 6 years that I spent my life here, we all went through hell. A shooting, a plane crash, residents and attendees getting together, and a lot of people having sex in the on-call room..."
She looked at the Attendees with a knowing look, making all of them blush and look away while their students laughed. She went ahead and told some of her revolutionary and groundbreaking surgeries, leaving everyone in the room awestruck.
"I learned a lot of things when I was here, you have amazing teachers and you are all lucky to have them. Aside from being a kickass surgeon, this is where I found my patience, found my people, found empathy. I have seen this place change people, some good, some bad, but don't lose yourself while you are here. Don't overwork yourself and help each other, that is how I got through residency."
Michelle made eye contact with Lexie. They were the only two people of their batch left standing, since the others were fired when the merger happened, and they were each other's person. Of course, Santana, Quinn, and Brittany are her people as well, but Lexie...
She was there when all the shit went down, she understands her on a different level. Having someone in the same career field really really helps keep you grounded. There are some things that she could tell Lex that she can't tell them. Like all of her exciting surgeries, telling each other in total detail all about them, and having someone to hold when a surgery goes wrong. There is a reason why she is called an honorary Grey.
"This is where you will find your people."
She stopped for a second, her eyes on the ground, before making eye contact with the crowd.
"I met this girl... I mean a woman. She's a woman now, but the first time I met her, she was in this hospital with a heart condition that has gotten so bad that she can't do any physical activity or else it could kill her. I met her a few days ago at Stanford, and she is the captain of the Women's soccer team, an amazing forward."
She showed a picture of Stacy Pollock.
"This place does wonders, and we are literally changing the fate of our patients. I have seen a lot of miracles in this hospital and I wish that you guys would have the same experience I had."

They started asking Michelle some questions after her lecture. Owen raised his hand, making Michelle raise an eyebrow at him, amused, but pointed at him.
"Yes Doctor Hunt?"
"Do you remember our theme song?"
"We have a theme song? Why is this the first time I'm hearing about this Doctor Hunt?"
"You know what I mean."
Michelle chuckled and nodded her head.
"Yes, I do."
"So you'll be able to sing along then."
She looked at the trauma surgeon confused when Owen stood up and music started playing.
Owen Hunt:
Step one, you say we need to talk
He walks, you say sit down; it's just a talk
He smiles politely back at you
You stare politely right on through
Her confusion heightened when Meredith stood up, and she tried to stop herself from laughing when she started singing as we ll. Meredith gave her a look that told her to shut up, making her press her lips together and just nod her head with the beat of the music.
Meredith Grey:
Some sort of window to your right
As he goes left and you stay right
Between the lines of fear and blame
You begin to wonder why you came
But she couldn't help but laugh out loud when she saw Cristina sing the next verse.
Cristina Yang:
Where did I go
I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness, and
I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known
How to save a life
Jackson walked beside her, making Michelle grin. She gave him a hug, keeping her arms around him as they swayed to the music.
Jackson Avery:
Let him know that you know best
'Cause after all, you do know best
Try to slip past his defense
Without granting innocence
The blonde peds walked on stage as well. She blew a kiss to Michelle, making her grin and pretend to catch it.
Arizona Robbins:
Lay down a list of what is wrong
The things you've told him all along
Miranda Bailey:
And pray to God he hears you
And pray to God he hears you
Michelle looked at one of her mentors, the person who taught her so much as a surgeon and became like her mother figure while she was a resident, even as an intern. The only intern that she actually tolerated was Michelle.
Lexie Grey:
Where did I go wrong?
I lost a friend
She gave her person a warm smile, reaching her hand out for her. She was still amused that they were actually singing.
Lexie Grey and April Kepner:
Somewhere along in the bitterness, and
I would have stayed up
Lexie grey, April Kepner, and Alex Karev:
With you all night
Had I known how to save a life
They all looked at her, nudging the singer to sing the next part. She gave them a sigh and brought the mic up to her lips.
Michelle Press:
As he begins to raise his voice
You lower yours and grant him one last choice
Drive until you lose the road
Or break with the ones you've followed
He will do one of two things
He will admit to everything
Or he'll say he's just not the same
And you'll begin to wonder why you came
All:
Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness, and
I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness, and
I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
Everybody cheered while all of the doctors brought each other into a huge group hug making Michelle laugh. She looked around as chatter started emerging from all of them. She missed this, she missed them, and she was glad that this part of her life is slowly coming back for her.

A/N: Really though, imagine Michelle being your doctor? Oh my god. I had never had to go to the hospital, but I think I would need to if she is. Also, justice for Lexie.
