PRE-TWILIGHT
1955
It had been a week or so since Katherine accepted Carlisle's offer to stay the night however they hadn't just spent one day.
Somehow the Cullen clan had used many tactics to make them stay for a week longer, even persuading the Williams twins to try the animal diet which surprisingly the twins actually did, Kol preferably liked it more than humans, so from that they said they would try to stick to it although Katherine felt a little bad about hurting harmless animals but her brother just shrugged and said 'we are the top predators of the food chain whether we eat humans or animals it's all the same really' she had rolled her eyes at that, but complied seeing how happy drinking animal blood make him.
The whole family had grown to love the twins, and they wanted so desperately for them to join their little family, even Kol who rarely speaks to them and barely left his sisters or Carlisle's side had become more comfortable with them within a week, which was a shock to himself although he had been avoiding his mate like the plague, who he found out was called Emmet.
It's not that he didn't like him or found him unattractive because he truly did, he was the best looking man Kol had ever seen. Emmet had muscles to die for and even-though he looked intimidating was actually a massive teddy bear, he was so soft and cuddly and Kol found himself staring at the boy frequently when he wasn't looking, better yet Katherine loved him which couldn't make him happier.
He was skeptical about trusting others and didn't like to get close to anyone else it was a fear of his, which Emmet totally understood. Emmet had already taken a huge liking to the quiet boy and told him straight up that Kol can take all the time he needs, even if it's an eternity for him to even trust him the tiniest bit he would be the most happy.
Now Kathrine was basking in the glory of teasing her own mate. She found out that Rosalie Hale was a very short tempered little hothead who got flustered by her very easily.
Katherine loved it.
She had always wanted a mate and now she finally had her and god was she falling hard and way too fast for the stubborn blonde although she wouldn't give Rosalie the satisfaction of letting her know that just yet. She wanted to see if Rosalie felt the same for her so therefore was waiting for Rosalie to make any sort of first move, this had the rest of the Cullens in their own little frustration bubble.
They were betting on how long it would be until Rosalie snapped from the thick tension between the two.
Little did Katherine know Rosalie very much shared these same feelings, possibly even stronger. Rosalie was already head over heels for her. The second she laid eyes on Katherine, she couldn't turn her gaze away. She was stunning. Her silky black locks flowed down her back and would blow around her perfect face in the strong winds, making her look like an goddess. Rosalie herself knew she was self-centered and she took pride in knowing she was beautiful, she was quite cocky in that department and didn't really care however her beauty was nothing compared the girl's she would hopefully make her own, Katherine was the definition of beautiful and the blonde haired female couldn't keep her eyes away from her .
Rosalie still struggled with her own trauma from years ago, a heart wrenching nightmare of the night she died always clawing at the surface of her mind, she never thought she would be able to love again....or love for the first time if you will. What Rosalie had with a scumbag from when she was human was not love, it was a relationship built on the idea of it and how she thought it should be, a week ago the thought of having someone touch her or be close to her made her feel anxious but when she looked at Katherine she couldn't help but want the girl in every way.
Katherine was nothing like her ex fiancé Royce, Katherine was kind and gentle, she has this innocence that surrounded her and you can't help but get sucked into it but also has this aura of mischief and playfulness that Rosalie couldn't help but adore.
She takes away bad tension from situations and makes people feel better, she can always bring a smile upon someones face. Within a week of being here she doesn't think she's seen the rest of her coven be as lively as they were with Katherine and Kol there. They made the whole family smile and everyone instantly clicked and became close, laughing off the way they had first greeted eachother.
Within a week this girl has come along and has made Rosalie feel things she's never felt before. She felt protective, loving, she gets nervous and flustered, she even gets jealous easily over her. Jealous! Rosalie Lillian Hale jealous because of a girl that may not even like her back. She knows she shouldn't get jealous, the pair barely knew eachother and she's not even hers, she has no right to get jealous so easily but when she sees Alice hugging her arm and pulling her away or the way the male and female population of forks eye her up when they went out In public she couldn't help the feeling.
Edward and Jasper had it the worst, Edward could hear and see their thoughts and Jasper could feel the emotions they felt towards one another but they didn't interfere; it was quite amusing watching Rosalie get all flustered and frustrated but try to cover it up with a glare when Katherine teased her.
They were all currently sat in the living room and instantly Katherine and Kol knew something was up, Carlisle seemed nervous and they weren't sure why. Had they done something? Did he want them to leave? Was their presence making the coven uncomfortable? The thoughts ran through their heads and Kol slipped his hand into hers. He was actually starting to like it here, he didn't want to necessarily leave just yet.
"Is everything alright? You look anxious" Katherine cocked her head at the man she saw as a father figure and couldn't help the worry that bubbled up inside her.
"Darling you're making them panic!" Esme scolded lightly walking behind the twins and placing a motherly hand on their shoulders instantly making them feel calmer.
"Sorry i just- we would like to ask you something now you don't have to feel pressured you can say n-" Rosalie and Emmet cut Carlisle off at the same time, the sentence falling out of their lips.
"Join our coven"
The twins didn't respond at first, just sat there processing what had just been said by their mates.
"What?" Kols voice was quiet as he looked up at them, he really hoped this wasn't some joke.
"Join our coven, stay with us, we would like you to become part of our family" Esme smiles brightly at them and the twins looked at eachother before their faces lit up, no one seeing Kol look so happy in his whole time being there.
"Really?" He asks again for reassurance.
"Yes!" Emmet exclaims a little too loudly which makes him scratch his head with a sheepish smile. Katherine sees her brother looking at the muscular vampire in pure adoration and can't help but smile brightly. Kol will finally be truly happy. She turns to look at the family again, a massive grin on her lips.
"After centuries of declining..I think it's finally time we took you up on that offer" Katherine chuckles as both her and Kol are pulled into a massive group hug but her smile impossibly widens when she feels two slender arms wrapping around her waist from behind, a head nuzzling her neck.
Rosalie took full advantage of the 'family hug' moment to get a little bit closer to her mate, to have her in her arms without it seeming weird. Katherine rested against her, loving the tingles that shot through her body from the touch. Of course Katherine being Katherine couldn't pass at the opportunity to tease her.
"I'm guessing you're very happy with these turn of events love" Katherine smirks as Rosalie's head lifted from her neck but her arms stayed firmly in place around the smaller girls waist.
"I'm actually very pleased with the outcome" she winks back making Katherine wear a shit eating grin. Oh how she wants to hear her voice every second of every day.
"You know if you wanted to get handsy with me, all you had to do was ask darling" Katherine winks with a cheeky grin as she places a peck on Rosalies cheek before shooting her brother a thumbs up with a smile as she catches him going outside with Emmet, he gives her one back with a shy upturn of his lips.
Katherine was feeling giddy knowing her brother was going to confess to Emmet, having talked with her the night before she promised him there was nothing to worry about and that Emmet would be good for him, she also said if he ever hurt him she'd set the large man on fire which had Kol laughing to himself.
As the pair left, she herself was dragged upstairs with Alice to try on new clothes they had bought a few hours before.
Rosalie was in shock, a simple kiss on the cheek had never felt so good, her body felt like it was on fire but in a good way, an unfamiliar warmth spread through her as she felt herself craving to touch and hold of the girl who had just sauntered away from her with a teasing sway of her hips.
Rosalie needed her to be hers. She needed to know everything about her and have the mate bond completed. In the smallest amount of time she had fallen for Katherine Williams and she had fallen hard.
"Tell me why you're down here and your mate, who you obviously want at this moment in time, is upstairs" Jasper quirks his eyebrow at his 'sister' in amusement as she scowls at him.
"I just- what if she doesn't feel the same? I don't want to rush into anything and lose her. She might just have a flirty personality and not even think of me that way but I don't kno-" Rosalie was cut off by Edward and Jasper's laughter, them receiving a glare instantly.
"This is no laughing matter" she huffs which makes the boys laugh harder. The pretty blonde couldn't understand how she fuelled their amusement for expressing, for once, her concerns about her mate, her soul mate, not sharing the same feelings she had for her.
The boys laughter died down and they both shook their head softy with small smiles.
"Rose you want to hear the things she thinks about you. She's literally like a little love sick pup" Edward sighs, a rare smile coming upon his features, normally he would be jealous that he was now the only one without a mate but hearing how both twins held such a deep feeling for their mates he couldn't find it in him to be sour about it. They had been through so much, he couldn't be jealous at their happiness.
"Oh yeah an' don't get me started on what she feels for you, the pair of you are both sickenin'" Jasper chips in with a quirk of his lips which makes Rosalie let out a beaming smile.
"Really?"
"Oh yeah" both boys reply in sync and Rosalie felt as though she was on cloud nine. So she does feel the same, now she doesn't feel weird at the fact she literally fell for a girl within seven days.
Alice came back downstairs with Katherine, who had her arm over her shoulder, Rosalie feeling a pang of jealousy in the pit of her stomach.
Feeling her emotions, Jasper smirks widely as Alice grins up at him and Edward, the vision she just had of Rosalie and Katherine playing in her mind.
"Why don't you two go hunt together, Katherine still needs to adjust to the diet and Rose you haven't fed in days" Alice chirps, her golden eyes holding specks of mischief as a little sly grin made its way upon her lips.
"I could do with a hunt. Mind coming with Goldilocks?" Katherines taunting smirk grows upon her face as her mate glared at her, Rosalie not liking the way Katherine didn't call her love or darling.
"Fuck you" Rosalie rolled her eyes but then freezes hoping Katherine didn't take offence to that, she was only being playful.
Katherine grinned brightly loving the feisty side of her mate.
"Oh I'm sure you would love to darling" was Katherines reply with a wink which if human, Rosalie would of blushed profusely. The other vampires in the room laughed as Katherine so openly teased her. Rosalie couldn't believe the way she reacted to Katherine, she was meant to be the confident one, the one makes others shy and intimidated but here she was, getting all flushed over Katherines flirty comments.
"Well my love, are you coming to hunt with me or not?" Katherine sauntered out of the house waiting for her at the tree line.
"I would love it actually" Rosalie mumbled to Katherines previous statement, forgetting that everyone could hear her. Alice, Jasper and Edward let out booming laughs and Katherine turned around with a shit-eating grin on her perfectly perfect face. So she does feel the same.
Very good to know.
"What was the vision?" Jasper asks his wife, his laughter settling whilst watching the two girls speed away.
"A wedding, a grand white wedding"
