Chapter 39

We already arrived at the house and already finished eating dinner pero ni isa sa'min ay wala paring nagsasalita. There's a heavy atmosphere surrounding us, making us not able to talk.

I keep glancing at Frost who was sitting at the single couch in front of us. Kanina pa siya hindi nagsasalita at parang malalim ang iniisip. He emitted this cold, dark and scary aura that was making me shiver and afraid of him. Kung naiintimidate na ako sa kanya no'ng good mood siya, ngayon feeling ko masu-suffocate ako kung lalapit man ako sa kanya. He's scary!

Nagtutulakan kaming apat kung sinong kakausap sa kanya. We need to create a concrete plan on how to save Hyeri. Kaya lang nakakatakot kausapin si Frost. He's so intimidating right now, and I don't want to get into his nerves.

I tapped Vanvan's shoulder. "Ikaw na ang kumausap. Close naman kayo diba?"

Agad na umiiling si Vanvan saka tinulak si Lily. "Ikaw na Lily. Tutal magaling ka naman mangonvince diba?"

Lily shook her head. "No. Nakakatakot si Frostie ngayon."

"Don't force her, Vance." Lyndon shook his head on Vance. "All we need to do is wait for his head to cool down. Let us rest first."

Inakbayan niya si Lily at sabay silang umakyat sa taas. Nagkatinginan naman kami ni Vanvan. I guess that's the best to do for now. Our mind were not stable and we surely needed a rest.

Sabay kaming umakyat sa taas. Bahagya ko pang sinulyapan si Frost na nakatulala sa baba. He heaved a deep sigh as he stared at nothing.

"U-uh... Frost?" He looked at me, blankly. "Uhmm.. Rest f-first."

He gave me a small smile. "I will. Just let me think for a while."

Tumango nalang ako bago nilingon si Vanvan. "Sa'n ako matutulog?"

"Sa kwarto ko. Tabi ta— aray!" Hinampas ko siya. Ayan na naman siya eh. But anyway, i'm already used to his attitude.

"Ayoko nga. Siguro may empty room naman dito diba? Or I could use Ate's room."

Sumimangot siya. "Nagsasuggest lang eh. Sige na nga, doon ka na sa kwarto ni Pretty girl."

Sinundan ko siya hanggang sa tumigil siya sa tapat ng isang pintuan saka iyon binuksan. He gestured me to come in kaya pumasok rin ako.

"Here is her room. Now, go rest. Have a good sleep, Gabby. Good night!" He kissed my forehead before closing the door.

Iginala ko naman ang tingin ko sa buong kwarto. It was cream in color with a touch of gold. Malinis rin ito at organized and mga gamit. This really was her room. It smelled like her too.

Lumapit ako sa backpack na nasa kama. It was the same backpack Hyeri brought when she found me. Inilabas ko ang mga damit do'n at sinauli sa closet ang malilinis at inilagay naman ang marurumi sa laundry basket sa gilid. I smiled when I saw the sketchbook I gave her on our fifth birthday. Ginagamit niya pala 'to. I opened it and I can't help but to smile and admire her sketches. Ang gaganda!

Nang matapos ko ng makita lahat ng sketches niya ay napagpasyahan kong maligo at kumuha ng unused undergarments at isang pajama sa closet ni Ate. It's a good thing we have the same size. I blow dried my hair and just let it cascade on my shoulders. I stared at the mirror. Now I definitely looked like Hyeri. Specially with this blue pajamas i'm wearing.

Humiga na ako sa kama at niyakap ang isang unan. I closed my eyes and hugged the pillow, imagining it was Ate. It smelled like her anyway. Ganoon lang ang porma ko hanggang sa makatulog ako.
