rain. it was the first thing yeonjun noticed as he stepped outside his house. he lifted a hand and felt the raindrops fall against his palm.
pretty. there was always something beautiful about the rain. yeonjun smiled brightly and opened up his umbrella.
he waved goodbye to his mother and began the walk to school, ignoring her requests to take a bus due to the harsh weather. he was careful to not step into any puddles and keep his uniform dry.
as he approached the crosswalk he heard running footsteps behind him. the boy didn't mind it, probably someone else trying to catch the next light.
abruptly, the footsteps stopped. the sound was instead placed with a feeling,
a feeling of someone staring directly at him.
he whipped his head around, preparing to greet the stranger.
but there was no one behind him.
"weird..." he felt his shoulders tense up as he waited for the light to turn green. but the boy couldn't shake the feeling of eyes glaring daggers into back. he turned around again, narrowing his eyes when he once again saw nothing.
"am i going crazy?" he mumbled. the light flashed green and he walked across.

he finally arrived at the building and quickly ran inside, the school halls were packed with kids due to the weather outside. "jjunie! over here!" kai's voice called out. "hey." he smiled at the group, but he noticed the empty space.
"where's...-" "fever. his mom won't even let him leave bed." beomgyu sighed. yeonjun widened his eyes, "FEVER? is he okay? how sick is he on a scale of 1-10? how high is his tempature? does he have proper medicine? WHY DIDN'T HE CALL ME?"
"YAH! SNAP OUT OF IT!" kai snapped, shaking yeonjun's shoulders. the older pouted, "but-" beomgyu giggled, "he probably didn't wanna worry you, just text him." yeonjun nodded his head.
"i'll see you guys during break!" he waved before walking off. taehyun rolled his eyes, "it's not like he's not dying." "ah, to yeonjun it probably feels close to the same." kai giggled,
