ep. 2-1 | elimination test

"your two hours start now,"

great. just great. everyone around NaRi was freaking out, tension filling the room as they would have to vote three people to be eliminated.

NaRi didn't have really anyone to follow or stick with, so she just kind of followed along with everybody else, not wanting to be a disturbance in anyone's path.

the group of 17 trainees walked around i-land, getting to know the building, eyes popping out of their heads with every room entry. NaRi was the same. she really couldn't believe she was there. she had gotten so used to being at BigHit, being in the same rooms and same building for years; it was nice to get out and see a different place for once. let's just hope i can stay here.

they walked in and out of the different rooms — the main room, pantry, bedrooms, fitness center, kitchen.

then their pictures popped up.

EW. GROSS. BARF! why did i have to look so bad that particular day? like i look pretty good usually but that was an awful day to take an important picture..

there really only was space for 13 contestants. 13 cups. 13 chairs. 13 pairs of utensils. 13 of every shirt, pant, shoe, accessory.

this is too cruel. i have to make sure i maintain a spot here after every round. i'm not going anywhere.

the 17 trainees began finding seats in the living room, talking about what madness they were thrown into. the young girl could feel her anxiety start to rise, her leg starting to bounce up and down. i need to make them like me. they can't not like me, i have to stay here.

"since our ultimate goal is to make the best team, we should vote for the 13 members that fit the ideal image of the group when we each think about it objectively, don't you think?" said Seon.

hmm what if you're the one that doesn't fit my ideal team image? you've been on my 'vote this person out' list since i saw your attitude earlier. thought NaRi. unable to control her facial expressions, she rolled her eyes and silently scoffed at the older boy, unknowingly being caught by the cameras.

she truly didn't know what it was about Seon that she didn't like, she just knew she didn't like him. would that change over the next three months? probably not, but she sure would try her best to conceal her true feelings about the boy as much as possible.

"when choosing who to vote out, im taking into consideration their performances from today, and what i can catch of their overall vibe in the next two hours. that's what matters most in my opinion." said NaRi to the camera.

when asked who fits her standards, her answer was no different than the rest. "Heeseung-ie hyung," she answered, her lips curving up in a smile.

after the clips of the members expressing their desire to be on a team with HeeSeung, it showed Seon leading HeeSeung to the coffee.

what Seon didn't catch, but both HeeSeung and the viewers did, was NaRi in the corner of the pantry room, finding something to eat away from everyone else.

she watched as Seon seemed to get a bit.. flustered and decide on whether or not to tell HeeSeung a secret in front of the cameras.

"i really want to be on the same team as you," he told the younger. NaRi couldn't help but to hold down her want to laugh at the sudden statement. awe how cute, confessing his burning desire to be on a team with the well-known ace. she thought, all in a very sarcastic tone.

she watched as Seon walked around the room, talking to the younger competitors, trying to ease his way into their good sides.

all she could do was roll her eyes and silently scoff. "i wish this group could last forever, " he told all other 16 members.

it'd be better if you weren't included in that group.

she didn't know what it was about him she didn't like. maybe his kissy-up attitude to the younger members? no part of him in general sat well with her — she couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was.

throughout the next part of the episode, NaRi was barely seen, the girl was casually walking around each floor and room, trying to find somewhere to stay or something to do.

"10 minutes till the voting for elimination."

well fuck.

i already know who im voting for, there's really no reason for me to be so nervous now... i guess

"we will now begin the voting that will determine the 12 I-LANDERS who will stay. Ni-Ki, please head to the decision room."

"oh so we're really going one by one like this? great.." said NaRi to, really, no one in particular.

"i was really scared during this time, knowing at least one person may have voted for me didn't sit well with me." NaRi told the camera.

although she felt scared since there was a chance she'd be one of the 4 leaving, she quickly voted before bowing a full 90 degrees and saying a quick "im sorry! don't hate me!" to the camera.

who did she vote for? although it was a sort of tough decision, she was able to narrow it down to four people through some tough criticism. Seon, TaKi, SungChul, and YoungBin. although she had a reason for wanting to vote Seon out of I-Land, she really had no reason for the others — they just didn't really stand out to her.

during the eliminated participants reveal, NaRi couldn't watch. she had her hands crossed and kept her eyes on the floor. i could definitely be one of the ones to go.

"...Kim Sunoo." what? he got 10 votes? why? how? he was so good! ran through NaRi's head. she couldn't help but look over at him with a slight pout.

okay but why do i LOWKEY feel like NiKi voted for TaKi........ girll.. the way they're looking, one looks guilty and it's not the one that just got called as an eliminated participant..

"those who have been eliminated, please move to the GROUND now." NaRi's heart started to slowly sink. she hadn't been eliminated, but she felt a hint of guilt? she'd voted for three of the boys who were eliminated, sure, but she still felt bad?

she watched from afar as the four left, seeing how happy Sunoo looked made her cheer up. it'd be awesome if i could somehow debut with him..

"Let's work hard!"
"1,2,3 I-LAND!" the 13 shouted, NaRi's feminine voice barely heard over the 12 masculine voices.

NaRi chose the seat on the right side of HeeSeung, seeing 김나리 stuck on the back of the chair took the pressure off her shoulders.

looking up at the posters, she felt out of place. seeing her petite body in the same vest as the older boys ( plus the 2 younger ones ), seeing herself on the wall just felt so unreal to her.

i just really, really hope i can keep my place here.

now, it was time to choose roommates for the time being. i could go with HeeSeung, but that room has him in it.. so.. ORR i could choose the one with Jay... Jay it is!

in the time being, she could be seen going into the small practice room, watching SungHoon show off his figure skating skills, and falling asleep on one of the beds in her room.
