Carson POV
Ethan told me I have to tell Autumn that Kelly kissed me or else he'll forbid me to date. He's so annoying.
Anyway I asked Autumn if she wants to go out to a late lunch on Friday and she said she could.
I was going to tell her on FaceTime but I decided it would be better in person and with witnesses.
So today we're going to lunch at this little cafe she likes about 10 minutes from my house.
After school I changed out of my school clothes and then Ethan dropped me off.
I got us a table for two and waited for Autumn.
"Hey Carson" Autumn says and gives me a hug
I hug her back and place a kiss on her cheek
We both sit down and the waitress brings us water.
We start talking about a few random things. I haven't seen her in a while so we had a few things to catch up on.
A little while later the waitress takes are orders.
"Autumn there's something I have to tell you" I start
"There's something I have to tell you too but you go first" She says
"So there's this girl Kelly who's in my history class who has a crush on me and we were assigned to be partners and Ethan invited her over on Tuesday so we could work on our project and when we finished she kissed me and obviously I pushed her off and stuff but ya" I explain and Autumn looks kinda stunned
She's about to speak when the waitress brings out our food
"Can I get you anything else?" She asks
"No we're fine" I say and she walks away
"Autumn come on say something" I say
"What a bitch!" Autumn says and I can't help but laugh
"Does she know you have a girlfriend?" Autumn asks
"Yes" I say
"Oh my god then what the fuck!!" Autumn says a little mad
"Are you mad?" I ask
"Ya at her like what he's off limits like that's just like a rule if someone is taken you don't kiss them" Autumn rants
"That's true" I agree with her
"Ugh I just can't believe it but I'm glad you told me" Autumn says calming down
"Anyway we can just switch topics unless you have something else to tell me" Autumn says
"No I'm good" I say
Autumn and I start eating and talking about some things like movies and basketball
"Was there something you wanted to tell me?" I ask her
"Oh ya I forgot um" She says sadly
"Is everything alright? Did some guy kiss you" I ask
"No" She says still sad
"Then what is it?" I ask
Autumn reaches across the table and grabs my hand
"Ok you're kinda scaring me" I joke
"Carson I have some bad news" Autumn says
"Ok what is it?" I ask
"Just promise me you'll hear me out first" Autumn says
"Ya promise so what's up?" I say
"My dad got a promotion at work" Autumn says
"That's great I don't get it why are you upset" I say
"His promotion means he has to go to Kentucky" Autumn says
"For like a week?" I ask hopefully
"For like a year and my mom doesn't want us to be away from him so she wants us to move" Autumn explains
I look at her shocked trying to find the right words
"When?" I ask
"My mom still has to find a house but once she finds one I'm moving in a month once basketball season ends" Autumn tells me
I feel my eyes start to water a bit
"But what about school we still have a whole semester left?" I ask
"My credits will transfer I might have to do a few classes over the summer but" She explains
"But what if they don't maybe you're parents would let you stay? Or what if you moved in with your brother or something" I say
"I already asked my mom talked to both schools and they said my credits will transfer and my parents won't let me stay with Blake" Autumn explains
"How long have you known?" I ask
"Only a few weeks" She says
"A few weeks!?" I exclaim
"I wanted to tell you right when I found out I just didn't know how" Autumn says
"I'm sorry Carson" Autumn says
"So then what are we breaking up?" I ask
"I don't want to" I add
"Neither do I" Autumn says
"So we're just going to date knowing in a month you're gonna pack up and move like 1000 miles away" I ask
"Yes?" Autumn questions
"Look I don't know this whole thing sucks but I know I like being with you and I'd rather have another month with you then end things now" Autumn says
I smile at her
"You're right and maybe your mom will change her mind or something but until then we should the time we have" I say
Autumn smiles then gets up and comes and kisses me.
