Chapter 87

Ethan POV
I got a call from Carson's math teacher today asking me to come in to talk about his progress.

We set up a meeting for Tuesday after school.

"Carson" I say walking into the kitchen where he's snacking on a bag of chips

"What?" He asks

"I got called into a meeting with your math teacher anything you wanna tell me?" I ask

"Nope" Carson says going back to his chips

I snatch the bag from him

"Hey!" He yells

I roll my eyes and proceed to grab a paper bowl and pour a decent amount of chips into it

Then I seal the bag and hand the bowl to Carson

"You're not an animal use a bowl" I say

Carson rolls his eyes then continues eating

"What?" He asks

"Tell me why I'm getting called into a meeting with your math teacher" I say

"I don't know ask her" He says

"I'm asking you" I say

"And I'm saying I don't know!" Carson yells back at me

"Hey! Watch your attitude!" I raise my voice

Again Carson rolls his eyes

"I don't know why" Carson says calmer

I know he's lying but I also know I'll find out soon enough what he's been up to so I drop it for now.

Tuesday After School
I walk into Carson's math classroom and see Carson sitting in a desk on his phone

I introduce myself to his teacher Ms.Brown and take a seat next to Carson

"Ethan as you know Carson has not been doing well on his last few tests-" She begins

"I'm sorry I haven't heard anything about him doing poorly on tests" I interrupt

Ms. Brown rummages through a few pieces of paper and hands me three tests one with a 62, one with a 54 and one with a 49 all with Carson's name and my signature on them

"Am I correct in assuming you didn't sign these?" Ms.Brown asks

"Yes ma'am" I say eyeing Carson who's doing his best not to look at me or his teacher

"Well taking in to account of these recent developments Carson will have Saturday detention for the next two weeks" Ms.Brown says writing up a slip

"Now moving on to what he needs to do to ensure he passes my class" She continues

"We have 3 tests and 5 quizzes left this semester Carson will need to get above an 75 on all of them to have a chance at passing my class. In addition I am missing a substantial amount of homework from him I will give him till the end of next week to turn in as many assignments as possible for a maximum of 75% credit on each otherwise he will fail my class and have to take it over the summer" Ms Brown explains

"I think that is more than generous thank you." I say

"You are welcome I will print out a copy of the assignments Carson is missing. He should have a handout of them but if not there are copies of every page on our google classroom excuse me" Ms Brown excused herself to go grab the paper

I look over at Carson who still refuses to make eye contact with me

Ms.Brown returns with a piece of paper with a long list of assignments and hands it to me
