Chapter 14: I'm babe now?

(I pushed publish last night and when I woke up to no notifs about it, I was like H U H? But this mf didn't publish I guess 🙄)

Ariana's POV:

I walked downstairs and out to the kitchen, turning on the sink to get some water for my tea. As I waited for the water to boil, my front door opened and in came my best friend on the phone.

"Can you bring me some Tylenol? I have a major headache and ran out" The person she was talking to either had a cold or a deep voice.

Courtney walked over to me, still on the phone.
"Yeah, I'll drop some off later. See you then"
"Thank you Court"

The voice sounded a bit familiar now that I could hear them clearer.

"Was that Nevaeh?" I asked my best friend who nodded as if it was nothing.
"Yeah why?"
"W-What's going on? Is she okay?"

"Yeah, she's got a cold. She's staying at some hotel near Malibu for the time being, then she's gonna stay with me"

Oh.

I turned off the stove and put the pot onto an empty burner, grabbing my keys.

"I'll be back, I forgot to pick up creamer at the store"
"Don't tell her I told you anything" Courtney said shaking her head as I walked out.

Nevaeh's POV:

I laid in bed, fading in and out of consciousness as Adventure Time played on the tv. When my phone started ringing, I didn't bother to check the caller ID, I just answered it.

"Why didn't you tell me you were sick dickhead?"

Ariana.

I could tell by the tone of her voice she was genuinely hurt that I didn't show up but I couldn't help but laugh at the name she called me.

"Because"
"Because..why?"

"I don't need to explain myself to you Ariana, we aren't together. You made that clear the last time we spoke"

"I care about you bab- Nevvy, contrary to what you believe. I care about you okay?"

She sounded so sincere when she spoke, I was actually believing what she was saying. Her voice had even cracked a bit toward the end.

"Whatever"
"I'm on my way over, be there soon"

Before I could say another word she hung up.

I sat in disbelief of what just happened with a headache from hell.

I had woken up from a 10 minute nap to see Ariana walking toward the bed after setting the plastic bag on the floor.

"Why couldn't you just say that you're sick Nevaeh?"

I rolled my eyes and huffed.

"My poor baby" She whispered as she got behind me, lifting my head up to rest on her lap.

I tried my best to bite back the smile that was forming on my face as she caressed my cheek with one hand and the other occasionally tugging on my tightly spiraled curls.

A few minutes of comfortable silence passed before she leaned down and gently placed a kiss onto my forehead. She then gently kissed my cheek, her lips lingered for a bit before she let go and we made eye contact.

I glanced at her mouth only to see her tongue exit and wet her lips.

She leaned in slowly and at the last second I turned my head, earning a low groan from her.

"I'd feel like a piece of shit if you got sick because of me that's why I didn't want you showing up in the first place" I whispered, my eyes switching from her lips to her beautifully colored brown eyes.

I didn't realize but she had moved my head off of her lap and was now holding herself up over me with her right arm near me head.

"Just kiss me" She begged, her eyes never leaving my lips.
"Ariana.."
"Just one Nevaeh"

When I didn't respond she moved her mouth near my ear and whispered, "baby please"

I shut my eyes as she spoke.

"Oh so now I'm your baby?"
"You've always been my baby"

I heard her giggle which made me smile and nod my head slowly. At this point I didn't care what was said the other day, I wanted her, even if that made me an idiot.

Using her thumb, she pulled my bottom lip down, only releasing it when hers entered my mouth.

I couldn't help but smile as she pulled away.

"I want another one" She whispered, still staring directly into my eyes. I felt her fingertips gently touch my stomach, slowly pulling my shirt up.

"Well that's too bad isn't it? Can't always get what you want Ariana"

Her nose brushed mine as her smile never left her face.

"You drive me absolutely insane" She mumbled, her lips meeting mine in a quick kiss.

I let out a sigh into mouth, kissing her again before pushing her chest away from me just a bit.

"What about Dalton?" I asked and she shrugged, her thumb running along my bottom lip as she spoke to me.
"He said something yesterday that made me realize what I really want"

"And what's that?" I questioned with a smile, kissing the pad of her thumb that ran across my lip again.

"I want you and I'm sorry for being an idiot and not being able to admit that to myself"

A brief moment of silence passed before she spoke again.
"Oh my god. Am I gay? Did I just come out?"

The room filled with laughter after her sudden realization.

"You don't have to label yourself if you don't want to babe" I suggested as my hands ran up her thighs and rested on her waist.
"Babe? I'm babe now?" She asked with a smile, making me roll my eyes and look away as blush crept up onto my cheeks.

"Don't get all shy on my now baby"

My breath got caught in my throat and I think she noticed.

"Uh oh, someone's getting red" She teased, her focus constantly shifting from my lips to my eyes.

"Since you won't ask the question, I guess I will..."

She leaned down, her lips near my ear before asking, "Who's gonna top tonight?"
