Three days.

That was all it took to rebuild Atlantis to its former glory, and Percy never left Annabeth's side during that entire period. And today was the day Percy would put a full stop to it all, once and for all.

"Are you sure about this?" Annabeth asked, her fingers lacing in his as she came to stand beside him.

Percy was facing the ocean, waiting. Triton had told him to wait until sunset. Because one, the Council was mostly free by then and two, it would make a lovely dramatic entrance when the light bounced off the entrance. Percy had laughed but he took Triton's advice, because he was nervous, and the longer he got to prepare himself mentally, the better.

"I'm sure," Percy said, giving Annabeth's hand a reassuring squeeze. He could tell she was just as nervous in this as him.

"You don't have to do this because of me—"

Percy cut her off, kissing her. Annabeth gasped but leaned into the kiss a second later. Percy sighed at the feeling of comfort when Annabeth finally put her arms around him. He missed this, the feeling of safety, the feel of her beside him.

They pulled back a second later. "Stop worrying," Percy laughed when Annabeth opened her mouth again.

She jerked away, glaring at him. "You're a Seaweed Brain, you know that?"

Percy laughed softly. "I'm going to fix this," he said. "Things can go back to the way it was."

"It won't entirely go back," Annabeth said. "You can't erase the past."

"I know that," Percy nodded. "Do you trust me?"

"You know I do," she grumbled.

"Then wait for me," Percy said, walking backward so he was now at the edge of the small cliff, the vast ocean below him. He picked up the trident he had discarded there hours ago, holding it carelessly in one hand. He gave her another smile that was more mischievous than reassuring and spread his arms, falling backward and letting the ocean swallow him up.

Percy wasn't too surprised to find that Atlantis hadn't changed much though Cassian somehow managed to add in more gold to the walls and pillars. He had no doubt the throne was now decorated with even more gold than before, not that it mattered.

He knew everyone was waiting in the Grand Hall, Triton had made sure of it. He hadn't exactly mentioned what he was thinking when he requested an audience but he hoped Triton suspected enough, otherwise things would get embarrassing for him.

He quickly found his way to the Grand Hall and steeled himself. You've gotten this far, he muttered to himself and swung the doors open.

Triton wasn't kidding when he said this entrance would be dramatic.

The light shone directly at him and cascaded around him in gold-flecked shimmers. Judging by the awed looks from the audience, Percy could tell he looked impressive. He made his way to the front where the throne sat, golden and anew. He sat on it.
