"Chris told me two days ago to never leave him alone with Cheyenne again and I've still yet to know why." I said to Mia as I put Cheyennes' clothes in the washing machine.

"You know men don't know how to deal with babies so when they do, they either fuck up everything, don't know something, or get frustrated or all of the above. But, he'll be okay—whatever he went through is only half of it. Try being a full time parent." She said and I nodded in agreement.

"Exactly! Whatever his reasoning, he still has to get in the habit because he is her parent so he'll be with her alone many times."

"He'll get accustomed to it gradually, he's just being a punk. Wanna go to the beach?" She asked

"Actually, yeah. We can go to my beach house!" I said

"That's more like it. I don't feel like being bothered with a lot of outside people today."

"Me neither." I said, closing the washing machine and turning the light out as we walked out.

"How's the job search coming along?"

"Oh yeah! I forgot to mention that I have an interview in about a week. The place is about 15 minutes from here and it's for an executive account manager position. The salary is around 80,000. It's not too bad. I can live off of it." I explained

She raised her eyebrows, "Not bad! I don't even have to wish you luck because you've already bagged this position especially with the experience you have under your tool belt. The icing on the cake is that you ran an entire company so skip the good luck—congrats on the new job." She excitedly smiled

I smiled in return, I love the positivity.

"Thank you so much!"

"No problem, and I of course wouldn't mind coming to watch Cheyenne once you figure out your schedule."

"Well I'm salary based and I'm a morning person so I'll likely be working from 9 to 5. I don't want to inconvenience your working schedule though, and Chris likely won't be able to make it here all the time either so, I'll look into getting a babysitter." I explained

I paused and sighed, "I should've actually thought this through. I may not even be comfortable with leaving her with a babysitter so soon, and she's only a month, going on two in a few weeks, I...ugh." I said and rolled my eyes

"What is the issue? I said I'd do it."

"As I said I don't want to inconvenience you or him."

"Well firstly, she's my niece slash goddaughter and she's his daughter. If you need our help, we don't mind. I can periodically alter my schedule. I can do nights some days and his ass is going to fix his schedule according to our needs." She explained

"But so soon?"

"How long are you suppose to wait when you have bills to pay?" She asked and placed her hand on her hip

I nodded, "You're right. I'm tired of digging in my savings."

"Exactly. So girl go get that job." She said as if she brushed my concerns off.

"Thank you. I don't know how to show my appreciation." I said

But her birthday is next month, I can figure out something for her.

"You don't have to, let's get to this beach house." She excitedly said

"You know, this was a great idea. I don't know why I didn't think of it. No social interactions and you don't have to worry about where you'd be putting Cheyenne while she's asleep or where you're going to go change her. This is just like your house, except it's on a beach. I could stay here all day." Mia said as we got settled inside.
