CHAPTER FIFTY. TASTE OF REGRET.

Start from the beginning

"So he did go berserk." Amused, Shand chuckled. Stepping away he added. "I have things to attend."

Hitomu changed direction in an instant, blocking his path.
"You always come and go like the wind. Its becoming annoying."

Looking him in the eye Shand spoke wearing a creepy smile. "Let me give you a piece of advice, both you and me, should be somewhere else where we are needed." His eyes darted behind Hitomu. Then he steered them back to him.
"See. I told you."

The sound of heavy footsteps entered his ears followed by familiar voices.

"Master Hitomu....there is trouble...."

His eyebrows twitched as he turned around to face them. From the corner of his eyes he saw the back of the emperor reaper depart.
"What is it?"

Because his back was faced against Shand Hitomu did not see the strange soft look in the man's eyes he had while looking at his back before he left.

"The captial town is under attack....magical beasts are rampaging the town...." A young member of the black knight reported, he talked in a very rushed manner, almost choking himself while speaking.

"How many?"

"A..about forty of them. All S class type magical beast. A few of them are even G class levels."

Forty......? That bastard.....

As soon as he processed this piece of information a realisation hit him. Shand was trying to expose the existence of the black knights. High class level magical beast were minimal in number but they were extremely difficult to handle. Normal soldiers would be able to handle a few of them but forty....it was impossible for them to protect the capital unless the black knights helped them get rid of the beasts.
Suddenly his own eyes looked towards the palace, his heart throbbing uncomfortably.
Without looking away he asked.
"Where are the elder members?"

"Master Khiluya and the rest of them are already in the town. However he asked us to get the approval of the first prince first. Without his command he....he said that none of us will move." He continued reluctantly.
The town was in danger.

Very well. Exposing themselves was better than being exposed. This was bound to happen sooner or latter anyway.
"Tell them to act. Protect the town and get rid of the beast."

The youths looked at him wearing complicated faces.
One of them mustered the courage to ask.
"Master, is...is that...order from Master Zarad?"

The former looked at him with a calm expression as he replied, "No." Not giving the other party any chance to question further he added.
"I will bring Z...Master Zarad and relay him of my decision. Rest assured, he won't object."

Objecting and commanding are not the same. The youths could only complain in their hearts not daring to raise out this issue. Still, they were reluctant.

Hitomu noticed their hesitation. So he couldn't help but speak rashly to them. "You guys just need to know, your master won't be against our act of protecting the capital, or don't tell me you guys don't mind watching the capital fall to ruins?"

The group flinched at his words.

"If so, i am fine with either." He began walking away. His mind was weighed with the thought of a certain someone.
After he had walked away a few steps he finally heard them reply.

"W....we....we will relay the message to act to Master Khiluya under Master's name." It was smart of them to think a way through things.
Taking his silence as an answer they immediately left without delay as they saw him leave elsewhere.

While Hitomu was heading to the palace, the long hallways and corridors were decorated with red blood, smell of iron filling the entire place.
On the other side of the palace was the crown prince of the empire. A group of royal knights surrounded him. They were armed with weapons. Currently they were investigating the room where the crown prince of the Moon empire was staying.
Satatra, who had a keen sense, ntoiced the presence of a person inside this empty room.

"I see i have a rather special guest." A sweet voice sounded. And a slender figure with beautiful yellow hair jumped into the room. This time he did not conceal his natural aura. The mask on his face, likewise, was also not there.

Satatra scoffed. The man have shown his true colors.
He unsheathed his own sword. Without hesitating even for a moment he dashed towards the other person, who had also withdrawn the sword on his hips.
Two people ran towards each other, their swords aiming for each other's head. An intense yellow and green aura collided against each other as their attack met.

During this time Hitomu who had headed for the palace finally found the shadow of the man he was looking for. And when his own eyes landed on him his body and soul froze.

For the first time after coming to this world, he felt the curse called regret.

Maybe...he should have stopped it........
