"I love that you're so confident about yourself, it's like fucking sexy.... like I've seen girls who think that they're not enough and I feel so sad like you should always be confident about your personality and looks." Shawn said.
"Would you believe me if I said I once was like those girls?" Camila said forcing a half hearted smile.
"Seriously? Like do you wanna talk about it?" Shawn softly asked at which Camila nodded.
"I was maybe 15, and I had a major crush on this guy and he became my friend he was in my group...so, one day we all were out at a restaurant and I was just sitting parallel to him and literally out of nowhere, he told me not to show him his face because I was...ugly and everyone started laughing and on the other hand I was on the verge of breaking down. I wanted to so badly bitch slap him across his face but what I did was force a smile. The saddest thing was at that time I wasn't proud of how I looked, but it wasn't like I was ashamed of myself but his comment made me think all those things. It was hard and it took months but I realised it doesn't matters how people think you look, it matters how you think you look and that's how gradually I fell in love with myself. Now it doesn't matters to me what people think about myself, I love myself and I'm proud of who I am."
Shawn proudly and lovingly took Camila's hand in hers.
"I'm so proud of you baby, and that guy was an ignorant jerk, if I see him anywhere I'll hand his stinking ass to him." He said as Camila giggled at his comment.
"You know I've gone through a very rough phase in my life, I've lost the only people that were important to me." He said before taking the photograph of his parents from the nightstand. He wasn't sharing this part of his life, only because Camila shared a painful memory with him rather he was telling her about his parents, because he wanted to.
He showed the picture to Camila before continuing.
"These are my parents, my father....he passed away when I was 10 because of pulmonary fibrosis and when uh when I was 14, my mom married Mark Levy, my stepdad so well yeah I'm not a Lockwood I'm a Mendes. So, a year later I-I lost my mom due to a....car accident."
They were both crying by now, Shawn was shaking as Camila hugged him tightly not saying any petty words which he hated the most. He didn't wanted sympathy, he just wanted to be held, and without even asking that's just what she did. She held him tightly in her arms conveying she wouldn't let go of him ever as she rubbed his back.
"You're so strong baby, I'm proud of you." She whispered softly.
"My parents were my everything, Camila. My mom used to be my rock, now you are, I can't lose you, ever."
"Then I promise, you won't lose me. I'm yours forever." Camila lovingly cooed.
Shawn pulled away a little to look in her eyes, they were shimmering with hope and love and I knew every word she said was true.
"And I promise you that I'm yours too, forever."
A/N: What a bittersweet chapter 🤧
Also this was a true incident which Camila described, happened to me. I was left heartbroken, but I know boys are blah so.
I have a crazy story idea, it's where people are very narrow- minded and judgemental and it will be full of twists and back story and themed on music. So tell me honestly would you guys be interested, it's inspired by a new web series I was busy watching for the past few days. Anyways I love you guys♥️
