Chapter 5:Why does it have to be me?

“Basta jan lang sa Katip.” Sabi niya sa akin, ngiting-ngiti pa ang loko halatang gusto ng makita si ate Chel.

“Ikaw noh paran kang tuta ng inlove, lakas talaga ng tama mo jan kay ate Chel noh?” Tanong ko dito.

“Oo naman, mahal ko yun eh. Kaya ikaw Alyssa, humanap ka na ng girlfriend.” Sabi pa niya, bakit ba kasi nila pinu-push na kailangan ko ng girlfriend eh masaya naman ako dito sa buhay ko noh.

“I’m happy being single, I can do whatever I want without someone stopping me or getting in the way.” Sabi ko pero minsan I want to consider the thought though pero I always back off. The truth is, I’m a coward.

“Pero Aly sobrang sarap ng may girlfriend at may mahal ka. May mag-aalaga sa’yo, may magmamahal sa’yo, may mag-aalala sayo. Ayaw mo ban g ganong Aly?” Jovelyn said to Aly and Aly was not able to answer immediately somehow got caught up of the idea but of course she composed herself. Jan siya magaling bukod sa magpacute, Aly is a very composed person.

“Ah basta, dadating din tayo jan pero for now I’m just gonne enjoy my life.” Sabi ni Alyssa, hindi niya alam if she was trying to convince Jovelyn or herself.

“Dadating ka din jan? Ano hihintayin mo pa na puputi yang mga buhok mo bago ka titino? Naku Alysssa ha, concern lang din ako sa’yo para na rin kitang nakakabatang kapatid kaya wag kang ano jan.” Na-touch naman ako sa sinabi ni Jovelyn sa akin. This girl has always been here for me, ups and downs. She’s there.

“Hey Dude, thank you. For always being there for me.” Sabi ko dito at tinap ko yung shoulders niya.

“Nababanding ka na ata Baldo? Hahaha, pero kidding aside dude I love you like a sister kaya wag ka ng magtaka if I get overprotected with you. Kahit sakit ka pa sa ulo at minsan binibigyan mo kami ng sakit sa ulo. And I will always be thankful to you, because you took me in when my parents died. Kaya nagpapasalamat din ako sa family mo specially sayo.” Sabi pa neto sa akin.

Jovelyn’s parents died already, plane crash. Kaya nga ayaw na ayaw na ni Jovelyn sumakay ng eroplano eh, she was with them when the crash happened unfortunately only Jovzkie survived the crash. They were riding one of their private Jet going to Guimaras when that happened. Jovelyn was 15 then.

When her parents died she took care of all their business and stuffs. I know Jovelyn is still hurting, but I also know that she’s also slowly moving on from the pain. And I know for a fact the ate Rachel has been a big factor on that process kaya I can’t thank her enough for loving my sister.

Jovelyn will always be there para sa mga kalokohan at stunts ko, siya yung tipo ng kaibigan na sasakyan ang mga trip mo pero pag wala ng tao babatukan ka. She that kind of a friend na mamahalin ka pa rin kahit ilang ulit ka pang magkamali.

Kaya di ko tuloy mapigilang mapangiti dahil dito.

“Anong ngiti yan ha Baldo?” Sabi pa nito, taking a glance at me then back on the road.

“Wala!” Sabi ko at natawa na lang ako.
