Chapter Ten: New Year's Eve

Everything seemed to fall in place after Bella was gone. To Brandy it seemed that she could finally move forward with Jacob and she was happy that she could finally love him more. She looked up at her werewolf boy friend and smiled as her and all her best friends walked around down town Port Angeles waiting for the countdown to the New Year. Brandy wrapped herself more into Jacob it seem as if Washington keep getting colder and colder since she came here and winter started.

"Cold?" Jake asked with a smile.

"Freezing is a better word." Brandy smiled and she put her face against his chest.

"You'll be warm soon." Jake whispered as Brandy looked back up at him.

"Darlings, let's go get some dinner!" Aunt Mandy said as she opened the door of the Longhorns. Brandy looked up at Jake and kissed his lips. Jake looked down at her and smiled, then she felt her boyfriend go stiff at her side. She looked up at him and then back at the others, all the boys stood frozen.

"Jacob what is it?" Brandy asked softly.

"Victoria she's in here." He told her as they walked over to their booth.

"Who is Victoria?" Brandy asked kinda harshly.

"She was after Bella, we thought she left since she's dead." Jake told his beautiful girlfriend.

"Here she comes." Embry said in a hushed tone as Brandy saw a girl with fiery red, wavy hair approach them with a jubilant smile on her face.

"Hello boys, isn't today just lovely? I believe it is the perfect end to the year." She said as she pulled up a chair to their booth.

"Hello Victoria. What brings you here?" Jake asked hesitantly as he wrapped a protective arm around Brandy and pulled her closer to him.

"Ah, so this is the girl that I owe my thanks to. What is your name dear? I only wish I was there to watch the tramp's face as she fell off the cliff to her doom." She said as she smiled brightly at Brandy.

"My name is Brandy. So you're not here for trouble?" She asked with confusion in her voice.

"Not at all, my dear. I wish to thank you and ask your dear boys here for a truce."

"A truce? How come?" Jake asked defensively.

"I have no reason to be a threat to any of you anymore. I plan to leave here and live the rest of my life in peace. I plan to find a new love since that tramp's boyfriend killed mine." Victoria said with sadness in her voice but quickly smiled.

"So, do we have an agreement?" She asked with her hand held out.

"We do. I hope you have a wonderful life now that she is out of it. I know we will." Jake said with a smile on his face as he shook her hand.

"If you guys ever need me, you can find me in the city of love! Paris here I come!" Victoria said as she strolled out of the restaurant.

"She seemed nice." Brandy said as she took a bite from her bread.

"You wouldn't have thought that a few months ago. But you're right, she did seem nice." Jake said jokingly.

"I hope she finds someone to love her. I know I did." She said happily as she leaned up to give him a kiss. As the whole family stood in the square Sam and Emily came running towards them.

"We set the date!" Sam called as they stood in front of them. Brandy looked up at Jake in confusion.

"They are engaged, Sam imprinted on Emily, and now they are getting married." Jake explained to Brandy as she smiled up at him and looked back at the happy couple.

"Really?! What's the date?" Taylor asked as she smiled at Sam and Emily.

"February 14." Emily said with a smile. Brandy smiled even though she thought it was crony to do it on that date, she knew that she wants her wedding date on a different day, from anything, like The Day of Love, or a birthday, or a holiday. Brandy had a mind set, that her wedding date needed to be its own holiday.

"Honey y'all only have two months to get ready." Aunt Mandy sighed.

"Yes, we do, but that's why we have all of you guys." Emily said with a smile.

"Oh this is so exciting!" Brandy said excitedly as she hugged Emily.

"So, will you guys help us?" She asked the girls.

"Of course we will! And we can even get the guys to help with some stuff too!" Saba said as she elbowed Embry who was about to complain about it.

"Yeah, we'll help too." Paul said as Em gave him a warning look.

"Well, we can finish talking about this later. For now, let's enjoy ourselves!" Emily said as she smiled at everyone and headed off with Sam.

Brandy and Jake stood in the square as they waited for the countdown to the New Year to begin. Brandy looked around and finally took in all the people around her. There were couples everywhere and she smiled as she watched an old couple walk closer to the countdown stage. Brandy hoped that her and Jake would be like that some day. She couldn't wait for her future as long as Jacob was by her side there was nothing she could not conquer. She smiled as her friends inched closer to her. They all went to get some ice cream, Brandy always wondered why people loved ice cream so much in the winter.

"How is the ice cream?" Jake asked as he his friends appeared around him and Brandy.

"Great." They all mumbled with ice cream in their mouths. Brandy giggled at her friends as the countdown began.

"Ten!" They started and Brandy looked over at Jake.

"Nine!" They smiled at each other and he wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Eight!" Brandy wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Seven!"

"Six!" She looked around to see what her friends were doing and noticed that none of them had their ice cream anymore.

"Five!"

"Four!" Brandy turned back around to face Jake.

"I love you."

"I love you too." They said to each other.

"One! Happy New Year!" As the countdown finished, Jake leaned in and closed the small space that was between them. Brandy felt herself melt into him as they kissed. She took one of her hands that was wrapped around his neck and began to play with the hair at the back of his neck. She felt him begin to deepen the kiss as he ran his tongue along her bottom lip. She decided to tease him and kept her lips sealed. She could tell he didn't quite like that and she smiled against his lips. She gasped as he lightly pinched her side and got exactly what he wanted. Soon they broke apart from the lack of air and he rested his forehead against hers. She smiled at him as she leaned up and placed a small kiss on his nose.

"Happy New Year, love." Jake said as he kissed her forehead.

"Happy New Year."
