"Ah, Mary!" Willow opened her arms and welcomed the emotional nanny.

It may be unbecoming of a head maid but Mary can't stop herself from hugging her ladyship after a long time.

"Alas, I'm getting older. Forgive my insolence young miss. Dinner will be served right away." Mary spoke and wiped her tears.

"I'm fine, did father finish his meal?" She guided the aged nanny by her waist and walked up the stairs.

"Not yet, miss"

"I'll feed him then, bring me his foods"

Mary hesitated and looked at her inappropriate outfit. Her eyes landed on the unique double sword fastened at her hips but Willow tugged at Mary's hand to let it slide.

"There's no need to worry about my clothing, father's condition is more urgent" Mary nodded and made her way down the kitchen.

Willow entered her room and observed that nothing changed much. It's still the same when she left. She had a hunch that Mary took care of it while she's gone.

She placed her swords beside the bed and waited patiently. Soon enough, a knock interrupted her reminiscing.

"Come in"

"T-the Lord's meal is ready, young miss. The head maid is by the master's room" she meekly entered the room.

"Thank you"

Willow passed her and made her way to the master's room.

She nodded when she saw the butler and Mary waiting by the door.

The butler, Edward, knocked and announced her arrival.

Willow entered the room and they followed suit.

The room was well lit but the drapes on the bed casted a shadow on the Duke's figure.

Mary placed the food on the table and Willow ordered them to wait outside.

The duke looked at Willow quizzically, until her bizarre appearance registered in his mind.

Her hair was neatly pulled back and she was dressed in worn out clothes. Willow's visage was on the rough side so the duke nearly can't recognized her frail daughter.

"W-willow?" He asked in doubt and tried to sit.

"The one only, old man, to think that you've fallen this low" Willow said in a joking manner while helping him sit properly.

"Watch your words lad-*cough*" he tried to reprimand but he can't assert dominance over a weak body.

"Yes, yes, calm down father" she patted his back while offering the water.

"So you don't plan to go back if not for the fact that I'm on my deathbed huh?" He reproached after drinking the water.

"Hmm, maybe?" Willow shrugged and get the bowl of stew. "You see, you're still far from death father. You even had the strength to spout spiteful words so you're probably doing fine"

"You little!" He tried to shout but he had another fit of coughs.

"I told you, take it easy." He glared in silence as Willow continue to stroke his back.

"Can you eat by yourself?"

"Of course! I'm only sick not invalidated"

He grab the bowl from her hands and tried to eat by himself, but his hand shook very bad.

*Tsk*

Willow clicked her tongue and wordlessly feed him. The silence is deafening but it's not awkward.
