Chapter 27

PurserPA: "Ladies and Gentlemen, we have just landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Welcome to Manila. The local time is 30 minutes past the hour of 8 in the morning. Please remain seated with your seatbelts fastened, as the sudden application of the brakes may cause you to fall..."

I took a deep breath. I'm back, finally. For almost three years, nakabalik na rin ako dito. Ilang minuto rin akong naghintay bago ako nakababa sa eroplano.

Naglakad na ako palabas at luminga-linga sa paligid na baka nandito na ang hinihintay kong susundo sa akin. I inhaled. Hindi pa rin nagbabago ang Pilipinas. Nangangamoy usok pa rin talaga ang hangin. And the weather still the same. Mainit.

I heard my phone rang. Kinuha ko ito sa bulsa ng pantalon ko at tiningnan ang ID caller. I smiled from ear to ear when I saw the name written on the screen.

I answered the call.

     "Hello." I said.

Lumaki ang ngiti ko nang marinig ang boses na yun. It's been three years, muli ko na silang makikita. I can't wait to see them in person.

    "Oh my gosh! You're already there, Robin?"

I laughed kung paano magpanic ang dalawang tao sa telepono. They've never changed. Still those person I knew when I left them.

    "Yes. Where are you guys?" I asked.

I heard them arguing to each other. I smiled of that thought.

     "We'll be there at 5 minutes. I'm sorry if were late. Si Nami kasi ang tagal kumilos kaya ayun. Sorry Robin." Hinging paumanhin ni Vivi sa akin.

Natawa ulit ako. I missed them so so much. I've been talking to them via skype for almost two years. They knew that I'm in NYC but I've never told them that I'm living together with Kian because they didn't know anything about him.

     "It's okay. I can wait. I'm still that patient person, you know." I said in my laughter.

I heard them laughed. I really missed them. Ngayon ko lang naramdaman kung gaano ko sila namimiss because I've been working, just to make myself busy.

Ilang minuto rin bago makarating ang dalawang babaeng may malaking ngiti sa kanilang mga labi. Nakatingin ito sa akin habang papalapit. I smiled when I saw them in person. They've changed a lot. Mas lalo silang nagmukhang matured but they are still beautiful tho. Tumangkad sila ng kaunti.

I know that Vivi is pregnant for 6 months. They always update me especially how Wela courting Vivi and Rosel to Nami. Minsan ko lang sila nakakausap pero alam ko kung ano ang nangyayari sa buhay nila. I know I've been unfair to them. Ni wala silang alam tungkol sa akin kung anong nangyayari sa akin sa NYC. Hindi ko sinabi na may pinsan ako and even not telling them that I'm leaving with my cousin, together with his cute little daughter, Kiana.

I didn't bring Kiana with me. Hindi pumayag si K na isama ko ang anak niya but I forced him to agree. Pero mauuna raw akong umuwi at susunod nalang sila sa akin next week. May gagawin lang daw siya bago sila susunod dito sa Pilipinas. Hindi ko rin maintindihan si K. Paano na ang paghahanap niya kay Airy? Hindi ko rin mabasa kung ano ang nasa isip nung lalaking iyon.

Bumalik ako sa ulirat nang may brasong yumakap sa akin.

    "We've missed you so much, Robin. So much." They said in unison.

I hugged them back. I've missed them too. Namiss ko sila ng sobra-sobra. May utang pa ako sa kanila ng sorry. I didn't say sorry because of what I did back then. I leave them without saying any words or goodbye's. I'm unfair, regreting what I did. Hindi sila nagalit or nagtanim ng sama ng loob sa akin kahit na may ginawa akong mali sa kanila. And I'm really sorry for being a selfish person. I felt guilty.
