Nene's POV

"Mum! She's coming through. She's opening her eyes." I heard Tona say as I slowly opened my eyes.

I felt sore and tired. I looked around and realized that I was in Dad's and Mum's room. I saw Mum rush to join me on the bed while Tona sat on the mini couch beside the bed and held my left hand.

"What happened? What's going on?" I asked as I tried to sit up.

"Shhhh. Easy love... you fainted. We found you in your bathroom gasping for breath and you passed out." Mum said, as she hugged me and soothed me to relax.

"Please dear, pass the cup of water." She told Tona.

Tona passed her the cup and she gave me to drink. I drank and it had a sweet taste, like glucose. Mum always gives us warm water and glucose anytime any one of us falls ill. She always says it's a principal source of energy.

"How do you feel? Do you want me to get you something to eat? Mum asked.

I nodded and she said to Tona:

"Quick, go get her breakfast. She's hungry."

"Breakfast?" I asked. Then I realized I had been unconscious all through the night.

Tona came back quickly with a bowl of my favorite cereal and a glass of milk.

"Did you add glucose to the milk?" Mum asked.

"Yes, I did," Tona replied as he set the tray on my lap.

Mum poured the milk into the bowl of cereal and spoon-fed me.

"Where is Erima? And dad?" I asked.

"Your dad went to work. He took your sister to school. Don't worry, he said he'll call during his lunch break to check on you." She replied.

"Sugarpie, you didn't go to work?" I asked Tona with my mouth full.

"I took a sick leave. Stop talking and eat. Ok." Tona replied, as he took my left hand and soothed me.

When I was done eating my breakfast, Mum took the tray to the kitchen. Tona asked slowly:

"Did you get bullied again?"

His question caught me off guard to which I replied, stuttering:

"Emmm... N..No! Wh...why wo...would you think that?"

"Well, you haven't had a panic attack for a very, very long time now. The last time you exhibited this kind of episode was during your primary school days when you got bullied and you didn't even tell us then that you were being bullied until we made our findings." Tona replied, raising his eyebrow.

"I'm fine. There's nothing to worry about." I said and I looked away from his gaze.

"If you are having any trouble at the university, let me know and I'll handle it." He said slowly.

"I said I'm fine!" I snapped. I pulled my hand away from him and turned to face the other side of the bed.

"If you say so." Tona got up as mum walked in.

"I'll be in my room," Tona said as he left Mum and I.

Mum stayed with me all day making sure I ate and took my medication. Dad called during his lunch break and we spoke for quite some time. I felt pampered and loved.

Tona kept checking up on me every single hour to the extent I had to tell him to stop. It's not as if I was going to hurt myself. I was however grateful for his care and concern.
