"So, that was it," Veau let out a short, incredulous laugh. "It was all because of a human, a woman. Cecil Lan."

Veau released Kai, retracting his claws of dark magic and Kai collapsed to the ground, wincing as he clutched his head.

"How absurd, and foolish." Veau mocked, wearing a bitter expression on his face as he lowered his voice. "...very foolish."

The bitter expression was gone as quickly as it came, and Veau turned to Kai, who was slowly standing up, scowling at him.

Kai never wanted to experience that ever again.

It felt like there was something was digging around in his head, and once it found what it desired, that object would wrench at that particular point in his head.

"Now that you have seen it," Kai growled out, dusting his clothes with his hands. "Will you please leave us alone?"

"That human, Cecil Lan, Hana and you--no, all of you," Veau gave another lazy smile, his ebony eyes glinting. "I want to see how far all of you will change."

"So, you won't leave us alone?"

"Probably not."

Kai regarded Veau with a bewildered stare.

Kai: "Xue, who the hell is he? Why is he even doing this?"

Xue: "..."

Seeing Kai's perplexed stare, Veau began to laugh, his shoulder started shaking with mirth. "I haven't been entertained like this in a long time. Even that woman's ugly face doesn't compare to this."

Kai furrowed his eyebrows even further.

Ugly face? Who is he talking about?

"Let me help you, to show my gratitude for entertaining me."

Kai took a step back, looking even more puzzled. "What do you even want to help with?"

"To get the robe, to prove the innocence of your other soul."

"...we don't need your help for that."

"I don't care, I'll get the robe," Veau maintained his lazy smile. "If you aren't there to take it, I'll rip it to shreds."

"..."

Upon hearing that, Kai wanted to puke blood. All of them went through such an effort to locate the robe, and Cecil barely managed to convince Alric to help them, and Alric was almost killed for finding this robe.

Even Xue willingly let Alric control this body, despite his doubtful nature!

"...fine, I'll go."

"I will meet you there." Veau stated simply, his figure became a blur and he was gone from the spot.

Kai clicked his tongue, he thought he would be given enough time to switch to Xue. Unfortunately, Veau clearly didn't want to give him a break.

Thankfully, Kai remembered the way back to the shop from Alric’s perspective and he didn’t dare delay, dashing off to his destination.

Kai: “What’s wrong with this guy? Seriously, Xue, who is he?”

Xue: “A crazy son of a bitch.”

Xue spat those words out, and Kai had a feeling that he shouldn’t pry any further. Even though Kai was part of Xue’s soul, no matter how he searched his mind, he couldn’t remember seeing this crazy son of a bitch anywhere, other than the academy.

Kai burst into the shop, panting heavily and resting his hands on his knees, lifting his head up. To his horror, Veau was already standing there, brandishing sharp claws made from dark magic and on the verge of tearing it apart.
