"Sophia sino nga kasi crush mo???"

I stopped eating my lunch to look at my bestfriend, Christine, who was munching on her own food quite hard as she looked at me with a serious face.

I rolled my eyes at what I saw and proceeded to eat again.

"Tine ayan ka na naman sa whole crush thing na yan. Wala bang isang araw na hindi naten pag-uusapan yan?"

She gave me a ridicule laugh and answered my question,

"Kapag ako ang kaibigan mo, walang araw na hindi naten pag-uusapan yung mga ganitong bagay! Tsaka kapag highschool normal lang na ayan yung pinoproblema kaysa pag-aaral noh!"

I chuckled at her weird statement and shook my head in disagreement.

"Eto yung rason kung bakit gusto ni Tita na lagi ako yung kasama mo eh. Utak mo ba naman punong puno ng ganyan kaysa unahin pag-aaral."

"Hoy! Excuse me! Why choose when you can handle both at the same time??"

In result I laughed at her. But Christine actually had a point. It wasn't like she was flunking her grades and it wasn't like she was an uneducated person. She was just an easy person to get to and add the fact she's a hopeless romantic. Without me looking out for Christine who knows what kind of men would have already been with her and hurt her.

"Ewan ko sayo, kumain na nga lang tayo ng tahimik."

"Sino nga kasi crush mo, Sophiaaaaaaaa?"

"Hays di talaga titigil..."

I heard her giggle and saw her clean up her food and put her lunch box inside her bag.

"Sooo sino nga crush mo?? Ilang beses ko na sayo sinabi kung sino sino mga crush ko ngayoonnn."

Sighing really big and exhaling dramatically. I closed my eyes to prepare myself for my bestfriend to bombard me with questions.

"Wala."

"Ha?"

"Wala akong crush, period."

"SERYOSO KA???"

I groaned and cleaned up my food too while still talking to Christine. I didn't feel like eating now.

"Kulet mo Tine. Ngayon na sinagot ko tanong mo hindi ka maniniwala sakin."

"Pero kasi seryoso nga talaga yan? Ilang months na nagsisimula school year wala ka pa rin crush kahit isa man lang sa mga kaklase nateng lalaki?"

We were now both finished with our lunches and prepared to leave the canteen. Before we did, we fix our appearance so that we didn't look haggard at the second half of our school day.

"Ewan ko...basta wala pa rin akong crush. Napopogian ako sa mga ibang lalaking nakilala ko pero ayun nga wala naman akong nararamdaman talaga sa kanila na anything. Weird ba na wala akong crush?"

"Oo! Super weird!"

I pouted at that and laughed quietly to myself. Thinking if it really was weird for me not to have a crush. I mean it's not that I haven't had school crushes before, it's just now that i'm a bit older I focus more on studying and making my parents proud than waste my time fawning over boys.

"Wala naman matutulong sakin yang crush crush na yan ngayon."

"Sophia ano ka baaa! Inspirasyon mo malamang! Siya magiging rason kung bakit gusto mo pumasok araw araw sa school tapos sya rin magiging happy pill mo!"

"Share mo lang."

"Leche ka teh! Sana magkaron ka ng crush na hindi ka ic-crush back!"

"Wow scary naman pala."
