Third Person POV

The sun was setting amongst the summer breeze. In front of the fallen Summer's Gravestone is a young girl with a cloak billowing petals in the breeze. Hands clasped and hood up, Ruby Rose stands over the white stone memorial.

"Hey, mom... Sorry I haven't come by in a while. Things have been... well, things have been, pretty busy. Oh, Dad's here, too! He's, uh, you know... Dad. He's still teaching at Signal. But he told me that he's going to be on some mission soon. I think he misses adventuring with you. I miss you too. Haven't gotten kicked out of Beacon yet! So that's cool. I think being on a team with Yang helps. Keep her in line... That was a joke. She's actually a really great fighter! You can tell she's learned a lot from Dad! Oh, so are Weiss and Blake. Oh! They're my teammates! Together, we form Team RWBY! And yes, before you ask, that does cause a lot of confusion. Anyways, I made a bunch of new friends, and then I met some... let's just say, uh, odd teachers. I also met Team SLVR, I bet you would've liked Sam. I know I like him... Oh! We've also stopped some bad guys, too! I guess it's like they say: "like mother, like daughter"! I still wonder why Ozpin let me into the school early. But uh, I guess he'll tell me one day. You know how he is. It's funny, the more I get to know him, the more he's starting to sound like Uncle Qrow." Zwei and Ruby's father,  Taiyang approach, the dog barks and gains the attention of the hooded girl. "Oh! Looks like Dad's back! I gotta go! He's dropping me off at Beacon for the tournament match before he goes on his next mission. Wish me luck! It was good to talk."

Samuel's POV

I watched intently as Team RWBY was fighting against another team. Ruby had begun to fire shots in their directions as the announcers had also begun their job.

"Hello! It seems that we have another astonishing bout ahead of us! Wouldn't you agree, Professor?" It sounded like Professor Port who laughed at the battle. "Doctor! And yes Peter, I think it's safe to say this match may be the closest we've seen of the four-on-four round of the tournament!"

"For those of you just now joining us, welcome to the Vytal Festival Tournament, broadcast live from the Amity Colosseum!" I looked down quickly at the battlefield and watched as Yang made explosions with her gauntlets. "If this is your first time watching, allow us to break down the rules."

"The tournament is divided into three distinctive rounds; teams, doubles, and singles. Age and school year are irrelevant! In this tournament, your only attribute being tested... is skill." My eyes scanned over the hooded girl as she caught herself from falling off the edge. "Correct! The winners of this battle will elect two of their members to represent them in the doubles round, followed by the winners of that round choosing one member to advance once again. The remaining combatants will then fight their way through the final bracket in the hope of achieving victory for their kingdom!"

"And yes, Peter, these certainly are some spectacular spectacles on which to spectate on! I don't think anyone tuning in around the world is going to disagree with me on that!" I sure as hell wouldn't disagree. We've only been waiting for this festival since the beginning of the second semester. "Ahh, and why would they? Now, let's get back to the match between Team RWBY of Beacon, and Team ABRN, of Haven."

My eyes wandered back to the battle, I watched as Ruby and Weiss had each other's back. Weiss had rolled her eyes, but Ruby looked overly pleased with the outcome. I turned to see the girl with the greenish hair get knocked out of the arena.

"Ooh, a double whammy! Reese Chloris is eliminated by ringout and Aura level!" Obleck announced the knock put to the auidence. "She should have worn a helmet."

"Really Vi?" I asked as she snickered. "Shes driving around on that floating skateboard with nothing but knee pads."

"How would a helmet have saved her?" I asked and Vi shrugged. I face palmed and noticed that Lydia and Ryan were engrossed in the battle. "I don't know, save her from a potential concussion."

"Right." Our conversation ended there as the sound of a buzzer echoed throughout the arena. I looked down and saw Team RWBY jumping for joy at their victory. "And that's the match! Team RWBY is victorious!"

The crowd erupted into a frenzy of cheers. I smiled down at the team and o locked eyes with the certain hooded girl. I was inturupted from the stare down by arms landing on my shoulder.

"They won!" Viridian exclaimed, she was jumping up and down. I looked over at Ryan who solely shrugged at the sight. Lydia stood up and stretched her hands over her head. "Who's down to get some food?"

"Me!!" Vi yelled and started running out of the auditorium. The rest of us stood and followed her. Once we reached the stadium exit I felt an overwhelming sense of pain well inside my head. With one hand I clutched the side of my head, and the other supported my weight against the wall. "Sam are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," I nodded and staighted up my body, ignoring the pain in my head. "I'll catch up with you later, I'm going to take a nap before our round. Tell Team JNPR good luck for me."

"Whatever you say man." Ryan muttered and gave me a raised brow. Lydia looked me over and shook her head slightly. "I'll be fine, I just forgot about something I had to do."

"Alright catch ya around!" Vi waved as the rest of the group followed her. Once they were far enough away I placed my hand around my head. My thoughts seemed to puns so hard against my skull that it would explode. I stepped forward and was thrown of balance.

"Something is not right." I spoke through clenched teeth. I practicly ripped my scroll put from my pocket and started hitting buttons quickly. It was sent to a ring tone as I anxiously waited for the person to answer, whilst trying to hide the pain in my head.
