Kai was stunned for a moment, before he returned the hug.

They separated after a moment, and Cecil stared intently at Kai, her tears have finally stopped.

"Wh-what is it?"

"Xue...he let you take over his body?"

Kai nodded with a grin.

Cecil was shocked, in the novel, that had never happened before. The author only stated that he was constantly fighting for control among the souls in his body, not letting one of them take control.

He didn't want any one of them touching Hana, even if they were using his body and his appearance.

"Xue really did that?"

"Yeah, he did."

"Bu-but why?"

"For you--" Kai admitted in a heartbeat, and he winced, stopping his words.

Xue: "Shut the hell up. Don't say anything unnecessary."

Kai: "...sorry."

Alas, Cecil had already heard his words clearly.

She was touched beyond words.

...the great lord protagonist...he is treating me very well now. My position, it has been upgraded! I...I feel so honoured! And grateful My life feels complete now.

Cecil beamed, "I see. Thank you...to the both of you, and thank you for coming back, Kai. I've...I've never felt so happy in my life, thank you so much--so very much."

Kai started becoming shy from her huge, beautific smile, as well as her words. He rubbed at his neck, grinning back sheepishly.

Cecil couldn't resist, hugging him again and Kai automatically hugged her back. They both let out a small chuckle, until the joyous mood was interrupted.

"...oh."

"What is it?"

"I can feel him taking back control over this body. I need to go now."

Cecil was disappointed, withdrawing from the hug. Kai noticed her disappointment, helpless. He turned his head, seeing the scorched on the ground behind him.

"Are you going to fix that?" Kai pointed to the ground and Cecil followed his finger.

"No, I'm not going to fix it, there isn't any need to." Cecil shook her head, smiling at Kai and he smiled back.

A thought occured in Kai's mind, and he took a step closer to Cecil, licking his lips.

"Cecil, can I...do something before Xue comes back?"

"Sure."

"Can I kiss your forehead?"

"Of course." Cecil answered, her voice tender.

He clasped his hands around her cheek, caressing them gently and he leaned down, pressing his soft, damp lips against her forehead.

"See you later, Cecil."

Cecil closed her eyes, her hand on Kai's hand. "See you later, Kai."

Xue, regaining the control of his body, had barked at Kai inside earlier to not kiss her forehead. Unfortunately, Kai didn't listen to him and he opened his eyes, widening when he saw black hair in front of him.

He even felt his lips against Cecil's forehead, her skin smooth and fair, her petite hand wrapped around his.

Cecil felt the hands around her cheeks loosening, and the lips pulling back slightly. She withdrew abruptly, the horror evident in her eyes.
