It'd been nearly three weeks since I'd seen my blood family, in fact I'd mostly been hiding at home watching movies and sleeping avoiding any kind of responsibility. I'd told Jax I was taking my annual leave and just didn't bother going in, something Happy didn't mind as he said the money from the drug running was more than enough to support us both for a while.

I felt tired even though I'd been asleep most of the day and now stood in the kitchen staring at the empty fridge wondering when the last time we ate some thing other than takeout was. The front door opened and I walked to greet Happy.

"I'm hungry" I sighed as he lent into kiss me and rubbed a hand on my now noticeable baby bump.

"I got something you could eat" he winked putting my hand on his crotch causing me to scoff.

I reached up and grabbed his face with my hand "for food dickhead, take me somewhere"

He was midway through stripping his kutte off but pulled it back on with a huff "fine. What does queen Evie want?"

"Thickshake, fries and a big dirty juicy steak" I grinned as I felt a very prominent thump in my stomach "baby agrees"

Happy rolled his eyes "come on then, get changed"

I looked down at my shirt that was too tight causing the bottom of my belly to hang out as it rode up and a pair of shorts "what's wrong with what I'm wearing?"

He squinted at me unsure of how to proceed "nothing" he ended up mumbling grabbing my hand as I slid on my shoes and followed him out.

He drove us down to the diner, and helped me out. I wasn't that far along but he coddled me a lot wherever we went. Always a protective arm around my waist and a scowl whenever anyone got too close. I guess I wasn't complaining too much, I did like the way it made people move.

We sat in a booth and he stared as me rolling the toothpick in his mouth side to side as if he needed to say something but wasn't sure how too "what?" I asked as I looked down at my menu.

"You wanna get married?"

I choked on my water as I looked up at him "do you?"

He looked uncomfortable with the conversation as he played with his rings on his fingers "you're the only person I've ever considered it with" he mumbled.

I stared at him dumbfounded. Happy was many things but romantic was not one of them. The mere fact he was even trying to talk about feelings above 'I love you' had me confused "I mean of course I'd love to marry you Lowman. But what spikes this conversation?"

"I'm not sure. I mean we're about to be a family, and my moms been at me about it" he shrugged.

I smiled at the mention of his mother, she was the polar opposite of my own mom. Maria Lowman was kind and motherly, in fact I wondered how such a vicious scary man could be raised by a woman as sweet as her. "Yeah we are. I don't envision you the type of guy to want a big wedding though?"

"Nah" he shook his head, reaching out to grab my hands "just me and you at the courthouse. And once you pop my son out, my crow on your thigh baby"

I chuckled bringing his hands up to my face to place a kiss on his fingers "let's do it in a few weeks, just me and you"

He nodded and his dark eyes softened, I could feel our sons little movements every time Happy's deep voice sounded and for the first time in many months, I felt pure happiness.
