Ciara Mendes

Standing in front of the mirror I stare at my reflection, wondering if I had chosen the right outfit. I had chosen a light pink crop long sleeve lace front blouse, black and white skinny jeans with a pair of peep toe knee high boots. I flat iron my hair though there wasn't much reason to do so since it was already straight. Putting in silver hoop earrings I add a bit of gloss to my lips.

I stood there contemplating whether to change my outfit are not. I didn't know where we were going, the only thing he told me was to dress comfortable. Comfortable for me was a pair of sweat pants with a tube top and I'm sure if it wasn't a date, then that's what I would have thrown on. The door bell went off simply indicating that he was here and there was no time to change my look. Glancing at the clock it reads five minutes after five, after work I had rush home to have a shower and get ready while feeling all jittery as if this was our first date.

Giovanni stood on the other side of the door wearing a tight grey shirt and a black jeans jacket over it, a simple black jeans and a pair of shoes that looks like it cost a fortune. He was the epitome of elegance and I couldn't help but stare at him.

"This is for you." My eyes widen at the large pink cotton candy.

Reaching out I took it from his hand. "Thank you. The last time I ate one of these was in middle school." I confess.

He chuckles. "It was either that or flowers."

I close the door behind me, "Good choice."

"Speaking of good you look gorgeous. I'm glad I wore this jacket though."

"And why is that?"

"I'm trying to get you to agree to be my girlfriend, I won't have you wearing such revealing tops for other men to snatch you away from me."

I laugh at his words. "I have a feeling you wouldn't just stand there and let other men snatch me away."

"Damn right I wouldn't." He says looking seriously upset.

Sliding an arm around his neck I press my lips against his, it didn't take long for him to wrap his arms around my waist, taking control. He was so gentle as if I was a fine china that he had no intention of breaking. The thought and feel of his body and soft lips against mine made me feel a bit emasculated.

My eyes flutter open to see that he was already looking down at me.

"Good because I would be disappointed if you didn't." I whisper the words I knew he wanted to hear against his lips. "By the way you look gorgeous as well."

His smile turn into a grin. I swear it was contagious. "You know, just trying to impress this sexy raven hair woman I met some time back."

"Why are you wasting your time here with me then?"

The smile never left his face as he took my hand in his. "I figured your company would be better, now come on before I kiss you right here, senseless for your neighbours to see."

"What's with you and underground parking lots?"

We have been driving for less than ten minutes and the moment I thought we had reached our destination, Giovanni drove to an eery underground parking lot. It was even more so considering that it was almost six o'clock.

He shrug, "Wait here." I rose a brow as I watch him get out of his luxurious car only to realize that he ordered me to stay just so he could open the door for me, which was sweet but not necessary.

"Where are we going?" I ask now standing next to him.

Locking the car he lace his fingers through mine. "Where going on a stroll love, now tell me, how do you feel about Mexican food?"

"I love Mexican food."

He remove his fingers from mine and throw his arm around my shoulder bringing me closer, a move that I was grateful for. "I could tell there was a reason why I was drawn to you."

Giggling I reply. "I think I feel offended."

His eyes met mine a smile forming on his face. "There's no need to feel offended love, they are plenty of reasons why I'm drawn to you."

Giovanni Haynes

"Tacos Tamix." Ciara reads while we walk towards the Mexican food truck.

"Yeah. I hope you don't mind, you said you didn't want anything fancy and Leo recommend we go here."

"Are you kidding me? This is so much better than a fancy restaurant, tell whoever Leo is that I love it."

I smile at her fascination with the big yellow food truck. I must say this is a different version of that woman who threaten to get a restraining order against me and although I miss her glares and harsh words I can't say I'm not glad she is at least allowing me to be apart of her life. Even though she refuse to have me call her mine.

I consider telling her that Leo is my best friend slash business partner but figured it wasn't important right now. I can just introduce him as such if she agrees to be my date at his wedding.

I still can't believe Leonardo is getting married; sure I knew Carmela had him wrap around her little finger like a damn ring but I never thought he would propose to her; at least not so soon.

"That I will." I mumble.

Ciara and I sat on a bench around a small wooden table across from where the food truck is located. This was not a five star restaurant which was my kind of place to dine but who the fuck am I to complain when the woman I like was sitting across from me moaning every goddamn time she took a bite from her burrito.

"You have to stop doing that, buttercup." Taking a sip of gatorade as I watch her. I can't say this is my favourite drink but there wasn't much option here.

"And you should stop staring at me while I eat— it's making me nervous."

"It's only your fault for making, eating look so damn sexy."

She place her food down glancing at me. "Giovanni I've been thinking—"

Now the feelings were switched and I'm the one feeling anxious. What was she thinking?

"— I want us to make this official."

I stare at her, "You mean us?" I was making sure that my ears weren't playing tricks on me. She nod and relief washes over me. "What changed your mind, buttercup?"

"I think you deserve a chance— I mean I knew you were like a wild dingo." She smiles playfully but I frown at my past actions that made her consider me as a wild Australian dog. "—and even though we shared more than a bed once you still stayed and that's saying something. I'm not about to let what my ex and sister did ruin my views on relationships are break my trust for other men that comes my way."

I couldn't help but smile even though the last part about men didn't sit well with me. The only man that will be in her life for a very long time will be me.

"There is one more thing. My best friend, well she's more like a sister and is very close to my heart wants to meet you."

"Who is your best friend?" I ask scrupulously.

"Her name is Eve Malhamie."

Fucking hell.
