Chapter 16

I grab a blanket at the end of the couch and drape it over her. We are next to each other on opposite sides of the big peice of couch.

When the movies over its 10:38 so we decide to talk for a little while.

"Is your dad gonna care that your sleeping over?" Cheryl asks concerned

"I don't think he will even realize, he doesn't care about me anyway" I say and she frowns

"Well I care about you, forget about him hes a waist of thought" she says and kisses my forehead

"Your to cute chez" I giggle and she does as well

We talk for a little while and get to know eachother better, and I realize we both have a lot in common.

"Favorite sport?" She asks

"Volleyball whats yours?"

"Volleyball" she smirks and I laugh

"Favorite food?" I ask

"Curly wurlys, favorite animal"

"Same and dolphins, favorite movie"

"The fault in our stars how about you?"

"Endless love, favorite show?"

No response... "Cheryl" I say leaning over and looking at her face and shes asleep.

I feel bad waking her up since she has had a long day so I carefully slip my arms under her and lift her off the couch.

Her eyes open a little and she smiles at me and snuggles further into my oversized hoodie.

I carry her up the stairs and into her room and carefully place her on her bed and tuck her in the big fluffy duvet

"Can you stay with us?" Cheryl says sleepily

"sure" I say and climb in next to her

She slowly wraps her arms tightly around my middle and lays her head on my chest, I put my arms around her as well and drift off into a peaceful sleep.

I wake up the next morning for once with out the fear of being beaten

I sit up and realize cheryl is already up, I go downstairs and hear her yelling.

I look into the kitchen and see her fighting with ashley.

Why is he here? Didnt they get divorced..?

he's standing over her with his first raised and she is shielding her face.

"DONT YOU TOUCH HER" I say and he turns around to face me

"and who are you?"

"Brianna, and I said dont touch cheryl" I say angrily and he laughs

"what are you gonna do about it" he says and picks her up off the ground and holds her against the wall by her neck.

Cheryl turns her face away from his fist and faces me with tears run down her cheeks.

Something inside me snaps and I kick him between his legs with all my force, he releases cheryl and she drops to the floor.

He falls onto the floor as well

"Go upstairs, lock the door and call the police" I say and to cheryl and she runs upstairs with her phone.

Ashley gets up and runs for the room where cheryl is and I punch him in the face with all my Strength.

He falls to the floor and I run upstairs and knock on the door

"cheryl open it quick" I say and she opens it, I bolt in and re lock the door

"Did you call the police already?" I ask and she nods "yeah I-I called t-them a f-few m-minutes ago" she says, tears still rolling down her cheeks rapidly

I move closer to her and rap my arms tightly around her small frame and she sobs into my shoulder

"Shh its ok babe, your safe. He cant get you, the cops will Be here any minute and we will be safe" I whisper into her ear and I can feel her phisically shaking against me

I hold her for a few mintues rubbing her back gently and We hear police sirens and look out the window to see about 20 cop cars

They all come into the house and me and cheryl sigh in relief.

We hear ashley screaming and a knock on the door

"POLICE OPEN UP"
