Unexpected Love

•Chapter Twenty-Two•

The last few days Miya and Nick had spent time together. Things for them were slowly getting back to normal but there was one thing. They avoided any type of sexual sensations for each other, mainly Nick did because he didn't think it was the right time. When Miya would dress sexy, he'd just avoid the situation all together.

Today was going to be different at least that's what Miya had thought, she put on black laced panties and bra, with a black robe. She walked out the door, there on the bed sat Nick. He looked up at her and chuckled. He soon turned his attention back towards his phone, he was texting Phoenix. They had to do a deal the next day, things could go sideways if the man didn't take the offer.

She made her way towards the bed, she walked over to Nick's side. She got on top straddling Nick's lap. Which caused him to groan, he didn't want to do this. He thought Miya was moving too quickly, not too long ago she was traumatized. He knew she was still recovering, even if she was denying it. Soon he felt her take his phone, he looked up at her.

He hated denying Miya but it was for her own good. He suddenly was surprised by her lips on his. He kissed her back just for a second, then moved back. "I'm sorry, not tonight" Nick pulled Miya off of him. "I'm tired" he said placing a blanket on her.

She frowned slightly, she couldn't believe he denied her again. It was like Twilight, when Edward had denied Bella but at least she knew his excuse. But what was Nicks? She pulled the cover up slighty, it nearly covered her face. It broke her heart, the fact Nick didn't think she was beautiful anymore. What other reason would he cover her up for? Maybe it was because of the scars on her body? She shut her eyes, trying to fall asleep but that wasn't happening. Tears started to stream down her cheeks, she laid their crying silently.

The next morning Nick was up before Miya, he had some business to take care of. He walked over to Miya's side and bent down, he moved some hair from her face. "I love you, you're my world. You're the light in my life, my little firefly" Nick leaned over kissing her head. He got up then walked over to grab his long black peacoat off the chair, he put it on then walked out the door. He came face to face with Reece. "Hey, can you tell Miya I went to meet Phoenix?" Nick asked. "I'll be back later" he added.

Reece stared at Nick, he nodded his head. He still didn't like Nick too much because whenever he was around Miya would get hurt.

Nick nodded then left, he knew Reece didn't like him because he thought Nick would put Miya in danger. But that wasn't his intentions, he wanted her safe. He made his way outside, the snow had stopped sometime during the night. The cold air sent chills down his spine, it felt like it was below zero outside. Luckily he already had his car started up so he could just get in and drive. The snow crunched under his feet as he walked towards his car. He opened up the door then climbed inside, he put his seatbelt on then took off.

After a while he arrived at the building, he parked the car. Then stepped out heading towards the inside. He could hear talking in the distance. "Don't worry, I'm here" Nick said.

The short man looked at Nick, he had short brown hair. "I wasn't worried" Leslie said as he fixed his glasses.

"Good" Nick said. He looked over at his boys, then nodded his head. It was a sign for them to get the illegal automatic weapons he had.

The guys brought about six barrels of them, they placed it in front of Leslie. He snapped his fingers so one of his men could check. The guy bent down checking, he glanced up at Leslie and nodded his head.

Leslie turned his head towards the other man, he moved his head a little. The man went to the van grabbing some bags, he placed them in front of Nick.

One of Nick's guys went over checking the bag, everything was there. He went over taking it outside.

"It was pleasure doing business with you, be sure to be in contact again" Nick said.

Leslie nodded his head, he went to the van and got inside. The men drove away without another word.

Nick let a sigh escape his lips, he looked over at Phoenix. "That went smoothly" he said. "Oh be sure to pay our men" he started walking away.

"Wait, where are you going?" Phoenix turned to look at Nick.

"I have to go get Miya a gift, I haven't done that yet" Nick proceeded to leave the building.

Phoenix chuckled shaking his head, he followed Nick out the building. They both got in sperate cars then drove away.

Nick started to drive, he didn't know what to get Miya. The two had been though so much in the last couple of months. He glanced out the window as he drove, the snow started to fall again. People filled the streets of Chicago even though it was freezing.

After a few more minutes of driving Nick knew exactly what he was getting Miya. He pulled up to the side of the curb. He parked the car,  then got out. He went over to the parking meter putting some coins inside, he then proceeded inside the store.
