Gabriel stood in his room at the pack house. Well, it was more like the entire top floor of the grand house hidden in the woods. He paced in the room finally stopping at the window. The cardigan Carlisia had draped around his sister was now wrapped around his knuckles, which he would smell every once in a while, losing himself to the sensation.
He could still taste her sweet skin when he had licked her neck on the park. He wanted to bite her there. But it would have been too dangerous. Marking her without any medical attention could have killed her. She would have bled to death.
He brought the clothed knuckle back to his nose taking a whiff of it before kissing it and going back to bed.
He was tired. Very tired.
He looked around his room which had crimson dark walls and everything black. From his silk bedspread to the dark lamp above his bed.
All black and dark. Just like him. Dark.
He gets into his king sized bed and gently unwraps the cloth from his hand, placing it on the other side of the bed, where Carlisia should be. Where she belonged.
But for now the cardigan would do.
He looked back up at the ceiling his thought going to that Zane guy. He would have to do something about him. Make sure he stays away from her.
Far away for that matter.
His hand made its way into the pocket of his sweats, taking out the packet of death sticks which he had grown accustomed to after the death of his father at the age of sixteen.
He used to be normal back then. Had friends. A prankster too. But that all changed when the weight of an entire pack was put on his shoulder.
He became to cut himself off. Getting tattooed and pierced step by step.
Now his body was covered in tattoos, adding to his scary aura.
He lit the cigarette placing it into his mouth while taking long drags in his bed, devising a way to get rid of Zane.
What to do? What to do?
He wasn’t thinking anything drastic like killing the human or hurting him but cutting his contact with her would be calming.
But that seemed impossible. They both talked to each other practically all the time!
He grabbed his cell phone calling the boy, who he had finally found a good use of.
“Hello?” David picked up after the third ring.
“David.” Gabriel replies in a manner of greeting and the boy at the other side becomes attentive.
According to his orders David had gone to the pack house first thing after school and given all the information about Carlisia. Like Gabriel had expected, of course.
“A-alpha. Is there a problem?” The boy asks probably scared.
“No. But I want you to get me information on Carlisia’s best friend. His name is Zane. I want the folder ready by tomorrow evening. On my desk. Is it clear?” Gabriel says sternly and the boy cringes.
“Yes, yes. Of course.” He replies and Gabriel smiles with satisfaction
“Good.” He replies and ends the line.
Gabriel gets out of bed and began pacing the room once again puffing smoke out of his nose and mouth every once in a while, but it failed to calm him down.
He grabbed the cardigan again, taking a long whiff of it before placing it down on the bed very preciously.
“I want you. I want you now.” He says and sighs knowing he had to wait.
He didn’t know how he was going to explain anything to his little mate. He didn’t even know where to begin. She was so innocent. So oblivious. She would laugh it off as a joke in the beginning but one thing was for sure that she has realized something was wrong. The way she read body languages, yet didn’t say anything made him realize, no matter how innocent she was, she wasn’t an idiot.
She was onto them.
He went to the full length mirror at the corner of the room and stared at his reflection.
He looked at the tattoo’s that covered every inch of his torso and arms, extending to his fingers. His snake bites still intact and his gauges adding to the mystery.
The cigarette secured between his index and middle finger of his right hand made its way to his mouth. He took a long whiff before exhaling the smoke on to his reflection in the mirror.
He was dark. He was dangerous. He was uncontrollable.
And he knew that.
He looked at his reflection one more time before throwing away the cigarette and padding back to his bed.
He threw the silk covers over his naked body before grabbing the cardigan and draping it over himself. Imagining his little mate on top of him, straddling him.
He chuckled at all the dirty thoughts that were going through his mind before his eyes began to get heavy and he fell into a deep slumber.

The next morning he stood in his office looking through a pile of papers. He hadn’t bothered going to that high school because Carlisia’s mother had called, telling that her daughter was sick and won’t come to school for the next few days.
He was extremely worried for her well being and had called Maria to ask about the condition of his mate, which was better than before.
It was already four in the evening and Gabriel waited patiently for David, to bring the information he had asked for last night.
He was the hacker of the pack and it seemed just right to ask him to get it for him.
Gabriel looked at the clock impatiently; his patience was thinning just as the clocked ticked. He wanted to deal with this guy ‘Zane’ as quickly as possible.
Soon enough he heard a knock on his office door.
“Come in.” He said while massaging his temple. He opens his eyes and finds it to be David who had a folder in his hand.
A big folder.
“I see you got what I needed.” Gabriel asks and David gives a curt nod before placing the folder in front of him.
“Anything else?” David asks.
“No. You may leave.” Gabriel replies watching the boy leave, softly closing the door behind him.
Gabriel finally brings his attention to the large folder.
On top of the folder was the picture of a guy with jet black hair and piercing blue eyes. His skin was a bit pale which made the boys hair stands out more and he could see the tattoo peeking from underneath his shirt.
‘Zane Andrew Demitri’
Gabriel carelessly opened the folder and started going through the information of the boy from the moment the boy was born.
Gabriel’s eyes scanned the information in front of him, flipping page after page which included everything plus the medical history of the boy.
His father was a colleague in Carlisia’s Uncles business and that’s how Zane and his pretty little mate met.
Practically the two of them met when they were in diapers, so hurting the boy wouldn’t be an option because that would scar Carlisia.
But then something caught Carlisia’s attention.
Got rejected by the army due to failure to come according to the requirements.
Gabriel looked into that and found out that Zane had apparently applied to join the army a year ago at the age of eighteen but had failed the test.
With this, Gabriel’s mind began to work and he finally got the perfect idea.
This was too easy.
If he sent Zane off to fulfill his wish in the army, Carlisia’s contact with him would be cut off.
Gabriel smiled and grabbed his cell phone. Dialing the number of one of his many allies.
This was perfect.
