"How interesting"

I race into class almost spilling my coffee until a hand catches the cup preventing it from falling to the ground. I breathe a sigh of relief before closing the door breathing slightly faster than normal until a hand lands on my shoulder. I whirl around causing him to furrow his brows still holding my coffee in his hands.

"Thank you," I murmur taking my coffee back before heading to my seat amidst his staring.

I slip my earbuds in hoping to calm my heart down after having to dash all the way to the school. However, he has other plans and turns in his seat to stare at me. Pausing my music I tilt my head wondering what is going through his mind at the moment.

"Why did you run into class? You're naturally a more laid-back type of person."

"It was nothing, Todoroki. Just made a bad impression with a few people on the first day. There's no cause for concern."

"You're still scared even though no one has walked through the door in the last few minutes. What were they going to do to scare you?"

"Are you implying that I seem to have no fear? The usual treatment that I normally get when people find out about my quirk. They're scared of me so they wouldn't have tried too much."

"When Aizawa mentioned that someone was going to be expelled you didn't even change expressions minutely. How did you make a bad impression?"

I give a light laugh realizing that he's curious, but he's also trying to seem like he doesn't care. I give a hint of a smile at the thought before flirting back to his question. I give a huge grin thinking of the answer causing his eyes to widen just a bit.

"I stopped them from bullying and beating up a kid after school on the first day. Let's just say they didn't take that quite well. As for why I didn't bat an eyelash it's because I knew he was judging us. Why keep a student without any potential of growth?"

"Interesting, but you don't seem to have any friends like your brother naturally does. Is there a reason?"

"I won't bother changing your view in friendship Todoroki, but you make a good friend. Even if you don't think of me as a friend right now, I do. Kids were scared of me and my quirk growing up so I didn't have friends, but I made my first one on the first day of school."

"No one would dare try to bully someone from the Hero course unless they were overestimating their power."

"He's not in the Hero course, but that doesn't matter to me."

We both fall silent as the other students start coming to class making me realize how early I had left for school. Izuku comes into class and is automatically surrounded by Uraraka and Iida causing my lips to curl at the ends.

It's good to see Izuku has made some friends so readily. I've also made two friends in just a few days which will make mom happy.

Everyone sits in their seats before Aizawa-Sensei can enter the room to start home room. However, they chatter amongst themselves as I turn my music off to sip on my coffee while it's still hot. The class falls silent as the door opens causing me to nod as I continue drinking my coffee while he walks up to the podium.

I barely listen as he talks to the others about the team exercises they did yesterday. I swirl my coffee around in its container taking in his words thinking then through. However, I'm caught by surprise when he says my name.

"Hotaru, you did well during the analysis of the fights, but you need to work in split second decisions." He mutters causing the other kids to look at one another when I give a nod.

"Now, let's get down to homeroom business. Sorry about the late notice, but today I'll have you..."

I can almost sense everyone panicking causing me to subtly bite my lip at their reactions. However, I frown noticing this new manifestation as of late, but brush it to the side for the moment.
