Chapter 7 - You are?

Start from the beginning

“Did you meet up with a girl recently?” I asked. He played with the hem of his shirt and avoided eye contact with me.

“I... uh... ermmm, well I fancy someone...” He muttered. Knew it! I called it! Louis was so head over heels for someone!

“Who! How long have you been seeing each other? Or have you not asked her out yet? Does she go to our school?” I interrogated him.

“Oh,” he said slowly thinking, “well this someone does go to our school and I’m very fond of this someone and uhhh I think you like this person too and so you see this someone everyday.” I smiled, Louis hasn’t seemed this lovestruck in a long time. I couldn’t help but think: maybe she’ll finally be the one...

“So who is she?” I bounced on up and down. He fidgeted a bit more. Maybe it was that beautiful theater girl, Lizz? Or that sexy cheerleader Kiara! He always seemed to have a thing for Emily though...or maybe his science partner Christina. She was there at the party wasn’t she?

“Um well uh this person is special and umm yea...” He looked over towards the doorway, contemplating something. He wasn’t telling me something... and I don’t mean the girl’s name. There’s something else. I could read Louis like an open book. We were the closest out of everyone.

“Lou, you can tell me anything.” I gave him a sympathetic look.

“I uh well I fancy someone.”

“Yea Lou I know! Alright tell me about this someone, eh?” His face brightened up.

“Well this someone has an amazing smile, adorable laugh, the cutest accent, they’re just so kind and down to earth and laugh at everything! And my g-d don’t even get me started on his eyes they’re so blue like the ocean or the sky and you just want to stare into them forever,” he froze up for a second and looked at me fear in his eyes.

I didn’t get it. What was wrong with Lou, wait. His? His eyes? As in a guy? He raced for the door, but I grabbed his arms and held him back.

“Lou-”

“YOU HATE ME! I’M SO SORRY! I SWEAR I’M STRAIGHT! YOU’LL NEVER HAVE TO SEE ME AGAIN! YOU HATE ME YOU HATE ME!”

“Lou no I do-”

“YOU MUST NEVER WANT ME TO COME TO YOUR HOUSE AGAIN! I’M SO SORRY HARRY!! YOU’LL NEVER HAVE TO SEE ME AGAIN I’LL LEAVE YOU ALONE!”

“LOUIS!!!” I yelled cutting off his sobs and rambling.  He looked up at me startled.

“Yes?” he squeaked. I pulled him closer to me even though he was protesting and engulfed him in a hug. He relaxed after a few seconds.

“You don’t hate me?” He asked. I chuckled and looked down at him.

“No, I don’t hate you. I will never hate you Lou. You are practically my brother,” he smiled. If I hated him that would just make me a hypocrite right?  I felt Louis tense and saw his eyes go wide. “Shit, I said that allowed didn’t I?”

“Yea mate... you did.” he gulped. I shuffled my feet a little and he play punched my arm. I looked up at him confused.

“Harry, I just told you I fancied a guy, why do you think I’m going to judge you or be upset with you? Cheer up!” he said softly. I thought it over for a second and then felt a little better. It was off my chest someone knew and it was my best friend! And also he didn’t care!

I then thought over everything Louis had said and felt my eyes go wide.

“Niall?” I choked out. He stilled all his muscles frozen and he had the same doe eyed look I probably had on.

He locked with my eyes again and sheepishly nodded, “ok, look. It is Niall... but I don’t know...” he looked at the ground drawing circles on the tiles with his toes like he’s done since he was a little kid.

“Zayn!” I blurted out. He looked at me puzzled.

“What?”

“I fancy the art nerd, Zayn.” I sighed shakily.

“Oh... ok?” he said still looking confused as to why I said that, “Well there’s something with that Harry that you’ll have to understand,” he said looking a little like a worried mother.

“Ok, what’s wrong?” I said. What was wrong with me liking Zayn? Well besides the fact that everyone dislikes him, the people I hang out with especially, and the fact that I’m known as a lady’s man....but I’m still the same Harry... right?

Finally Louis spoke. “Well Harry, you know what category he falls under, right?” he said. How could he say that! That’s rude in so many levels! So what if he’s not a part of my regular group of friends?! It’s not like it’s law to not hang out with him... it’s just pretty much going to risk my high status and friends.

“I don’t care what ‘category’ he falls under Lou,” I said through clenched teeth. He sighed.

“I didn’t mean to offend you. I’m sorry Hazz. I’m in no better place...loving a boy who thinks of me as his best friends...but hey we still have eachother and we can work it through this maybe even get us in a relationship with who we want!” He chuckled.

I smiled leave it to Lou to laugh in such a predicament! Then he was dragging me to the living room.
