Chapter 3

Pic of Owen-------->

(Owen’s P.O.V)

Coming back from my trance, I searched the place for the dark brown wolf. The woods never looked so empty than it did at this moment. I turned to run dodging the trees. The wolf was definitely a woman; she-wolves are usually not that large. She captured my attention with her actions. While patrolling the area, I noticed someone entranced by the waterfall and played in the water and enjoying the feel of being out and free. I know that feeling; just being out in the woods was relaxing that when I was younger I used to have a hideout in the cave. The memories washed over me and filled me of all the crazy adventures I had. Making my way to the pack house I could see that Jonathan and Ash was awaiting my arrival. Shifting back into my human body, I got some shorts from a near tree and rushed towards them.

“Where have you been Owen?” I growled at Jonathan. He could be worried all he wants but he needed to watch that tone, because last time I checked I was the soon to be alpha not him. I shrugged and kept heading toward the house. I was almost to the back door when Jonathan and Ash grabbed both of my shoulders to stop me.

“What’s up with you, man? Did something happen back there that you can’t wait to tell Alpha Alexander about” I shook my head, I needed to calm down. Breathing slowly, I turned to them.

“No, there is nothing to tell. Let’s just get the report done” Without looking back at them, I went up the stairs. Yelling filled the halls, and I stopped my tracks and listened in.

“We will not stop until we have her” Silently opening the door, I caught him slam the phone on the desk. His shoulders were hiked up and the veins popped in his neck. Power was escalating the room making me want to take steps back and leave immediately, but I didn’t. Steps behind me stopped, when my dad whipped his head around and staring at us with cold black eyes.

“What do you want?” His voice was void of anything and his fists were curled that it seemed like it would hurt. Giving him time to calm down, I tell Jonathan and Ash to meet me downstairs afterwards. When they left, I took a step near my father.

“Are you…good?” He nodded his head and went to his chair. I was in a weird place because I wanted to know what he could be talking about that made him do a complete one-eighty. There was never a time in my entire seventeen years that I have seen that his anger was extreme like he was now.

“What’s the report?”

“There was nothing to report. Everything is fine” He waved his hand and dismissed me to go away and I wasn’t going to stay so I headed to the living room. Jonathan and Ash were deep in discussion that apparently they didn’t want me to hear. I cleared my throat to let them know I was here. The conversation stopped immediately and before they could ask I spoke.

“Don’t” They gave each other a look then laid their eyes upon me. I knew they were going to bombard me with questions that even I couldn’t answer. Plopping on the couch, I grabbed the remote and cut the television on. Instead of bothering me, Ash went to get some snacks from the kitchen and Jonathan took this time to speak with me.

“I’m not going to talk about Alpha Alexander.” He turned to face me seriously.

“I know” and I did know. Jonathan knew if I didn’t want to even speak on it then he shouldn’t bring it up, but that didn’t mean it would be the end. Not even by a long shot.

“Something happened in the woods didn’t it?” My beta never left anything alone. It was one of the things that helped me figure out who was who when it came to Jonathan and Ash. They used to act the same but as we all grew up they developed their own personalities. Jonathan was the serious and business type, while Ash was the fun loving and laid back one.
