"Clem!," Louis cried out. Violet rushed over to help carry her.
"We'll take her upstairs, go get Ruby," Violet's voice cracked at the sight of Clementine's condition.
[Yeah yeah ik if you save Lou, Vi is blind and shit but lets say she regained eyesight in her non-eye patched eye.]
I raced to the greenhouse where Ruby was tending to the flowers and herbs.
"Hey there honey," she sweetly spoke in her country accent.
"Clem..she's hurt..bad," I gasped for breath. "Come with me." She grabbed my hand and we raced upstairs to the infirmary.
"God...what happened?" Her smile dropped, her eyes fixated upon the lack of legs she had.
"She was bit. She told me to kill her but I...I couldn't do it. So I chopped off her legs."
"Was she bit twice?"
The memories of the event replayed in my head like a broken record replaying that one note. I felt guilty for putting her through this trauma.
"Yes," I lied. Ruby grabbed bandages and medical stuff I've never seened before.
"Give me space, I'll call ya'll when it's done."
Violet and Louis walked away but stopped in their tracks.
"Is she gonna make it?" Violet asked with heaviness on her heart.
"I don't know sugar." Ruby's answer only gave us more worry. I walked with Louis and Violet outside.
"She's gonna make it, Vi." Louis tried to be upfitting and hopeful but I could see the fear and sadness in his eyes.
"I agree with Louis. She's gonna be okay." I was lying to myself if the thought of her turning into a monster wasn't deeply on my mind. If my greatest fear became reality.....
"I hope so," Violet sniffled as she wipped the tears from her eyes. Me and Louis held her tightly in a hug, hoping thay by some godly force of nature that Clem survives.

Fishing wasn't my favorite choir but it beats trying to catch those pesky rabbits. Holding the sharp spear in ky hands, I managed to get 3 rather large fish. We will be eating good tonight. Rosie accompanied me, always staring at the fish with hunger in her eyes.
"Who's a good girl? That's you, Rosie," I smiled. I liked having a dog, one as loyal and sweet as Rosie. As I walked into the shed to put away the spear, I noticed a carving on the wall.
"V+M... Violet and Minnie. They were close. How could someone just make that disappear?" I wanted to scratch it out but I felt guilty about such actions, even if Minnie's dead. I left the shack to find Rosie growling. Grabbing my gun, I pulled it out. Within the everflourshing forest, a body was walking. Tenn's body. The way his hands positioned, his like when he was nervous when he was alive. The pale, lifeless eyes aimlessly searching for a victim. I couldn't bring myself to shoot him a second time. I threw a rock away from the creek and he followed it.
"Goodbye Tenn," I sighed. Rosie whimpered at the sadness of losing Tenn.
"I miss him too." Through the rushing water, I saw Clementine's hat. I raced over to grab it but miss. I ran ahead onto the bridge to grab it, missing again. I can't lose this. Feeling hopeless in catching her hat, Rosie ran into the water and caught it.
"Good girl Rosie!" I praised her as I looked at the wet, blood stained cap. "Lets go home?" Rosie wagged her nubby tail "Lets go home."
The walk home was peaceful and relaxing. The honey golden sun shinning through the leaves of the everlasting forest. A small leaf fell into my fish bucket and as I picked it up, a hole shaped like a heart was revealed. I looked onto Erickson- I mean Texas Two. This is home. Dropping the leaf, I continued my walk towards home. Ruby and Aasim held hands and walked infront of me. Omar finished nailing a sign reading "Don't Fuck With Us" besides Abel's dead body wrapped around a tree. Willy climbed down from amongst the trees and Violet waved to me from ontop of the wall. I whistled for Rosie to come in as I closed the gate's door. Ruby walked besides the brown horse, admiring its beauty. Louis sat in his favorite chair alongside Aasim and Violet for a game of cards. I handed the bucket of fish off to Omar so he could prepare our dinner. As I turned away to tend to my lookout duty, a familiar voice caught my attention.
"Whatca doing there, goofball?"
My face broke out into a wide smile as I turned around to find Clem in a wheelchair. I ran over and hugged her.
"Woah there kiddo."
"You're awake! And you have a chair with wheels!"
"It's a wheelchair," she laughed.
"Wheelchair," I repeated the foriegn word.
"I have a surprise for you too. Come on," she rolled the wheels of the chair over towards the graveyard. My eyes lit up at the sight of her surprise. A tire swing. "Willy helped me with it."
"It's for me?"
"Yep, try it out."
I climbed into the swing and she pushed me high into the sky.
"I'm flying," I laughed and smiled. Clem procceeded to smile and laugh along with me.
"Dinner's ready!" Omar called out, signaling it was time to eat. I slowed to a hault and jumped out.
"I love today," I hugged her again.
"It's gonna get cold!' Omar impatiently called for us, indirectly.
"We're coming!" I pushed Clem's wheelchair towards the dinner table, passing the new gravestone reading "Tennessee."
As we dined on rabbit stew, I looked around the table. Ruby, Aasim, Rosie, Willy, Louis, Violet, Clem. The people I call family. Everyone smiled and laughed, happiness was in our hearts.
"All of this, it's worth it," Clementine spoke as she ate her bowl of stew.
"Lets go on a romantic walk, Clem." Louis smiled. Clementine stared at him.
"Hey genius," she pointed to her stumps. Louis's face instantly dropped.
"Oh shit- I..Violet! Help," Louis panicked.
"I got this," Violet stood up and pushed Clementine away from Louis. "SHE'S MINE, LOUIS!" Violet immediately ran off, pushing Clem.
"HEY! NO FAIR! I CALL DIBS," Louis stood up and ran after them. All of us at the table laughted at the two fighting over Clem's heart. Clementine couldn't help but just laugh as the two bicker and try to one up each other to win her love.
The sun began to set on the beautiful day. As me and Rosie walked into the school, I stared at the graffied walls, the chipped walls, the rain kissed windowstills. This home wasn't perfect but it was perfect to us. Pulling out Clem's hat, I set it on the desk besides our beds. This is our lives. This is our tale. We finally have a home. Our journey's over.
