Don't Tell Rouge
"Ah, sorry for making you cook breakfast again." You let out a sheepish smile, pecking your fiance's cheek.
"It's all right. I don't mind." He turns off the stove before placing the food on the table. He glances at you and finds you yawning then rubbing your right eye.
"Oh God, I have no idea why I've been so tired lately."
"You have been a bit busy with work and the wedding." He's seen you taking on different jobs for the past few weeks as well as planning for yours and his wedding. Of course, Rogue tried to help as much as he could with the planning, but you were more productive than he was.
"Yeah, that's true...and also the fact that you've been keeping me up all night." You poked his chest accusingly and he chuckles, wrapping his arms around you.
"Sorry, I can't resist you at all." He plants a quick peck on your forehead as you playfully roll your eyes. You begin to eat breakfast, however, Rogue frowns at how little you consume.
"Is the food all right?"
"Hmmm? Oh yeah. It's really good, thank you. Why?"
"You ate so little."
"I guess I'm not that hungry? Well, I usually do get hungry a few hours after I'm awake anyway." You look around, noticing that a certain neko-chan was missing. "Where's Fro-kun?"
"He left a few minutes before you came to play with Lector."
"Oh, I see. Well, anyway, let me wash the dishes if you're finished?" You pushed your chair away from the table and stood up, but you felt a little off balance. Rogue quickly rose from his seat, seeing your unsteady gait and his arms reached out to support you.
"What's wrong?" Rogue gives you a worried look.
"Sorry. I'm okay. I just felt a little light headed. I probably got up too fast."
"I'll wash the dishes. You should go rest." Rogue then lifts you up, your arms holding onto him tightly out of reaction.
"Huh? No way! I'm fine, really! I just woke up so I don't think I'll be able to go back to bed. And besides, we got that mission to do."
"No way. Your health comes first. Our mission can wait." He walks into yours and his room. The dragon slayer gently places you on the bed, sitting beside you.
"But we promised our client we'd help find her lost pet."
"I'm sure her pet is fine."
"B-b-but she said she's lost it for a while now. She's an old lady that lives alone and...and," you began to sniffle, giving Rogue a teary look, "and she's really counting on us."
The reason why you took it was because that job had been posted for a long time and no one in Sabertooth thought it was worth looking into. No matter how small or big the job was, you always took it seriously. Rogue is a bit surprised by how sentimental you became, but he understood how much of a kind hearted and selfless person you were. That was one of the many things about you that he loved.
"Okay, okay. How about I go and find her pet and you rest?"
"Nah uh! I want to help."
"You can help by resting. It won't be good if you go there sick. Besides, I know she'll understand and she'll want you to stay in bed also."
You didn't want to cause trouble for anyone, so you had to agree with Rogue. You sighed, finally nodding but then you grinned.
"But you'll have to stay with me until I fall asleep."
