"i only got the envelope for you, i don't really care." i mumbled, as she frowned, nodding her head.

we got home, & i walked upstairs, laying in bed.

i miss mike.

i sniffled, resting my hand on my stomach, wishing this nightmare would go away. i want things to be back to normal.

i heard the door open, as i sniffled, looking up & saw mike walk in, setting his stuff down.

he didn't even look at me.

"mike?" i sniffled, getting no response, as i sighed, gulping. "are you coming home?"

"i'm staying in the basement eleven." he mumbled, grabbing clothes.

"can you just please stay with me? i miss you." i sniffled, as he sighed, turning around to face me.

"you know i didn't mean what i said yesterday right?" he gave a sincere look, as i sniffled, shrugging.

"k." he mumbled, continuing to pack his clothes.

i got up, walking over to the closet, grabbing him some blankets.

"it's cold in the basement." i mumbled, handing them to him, as he took them from my hand, setting them by his stuff.

"mike please." i gave him a pleading look, grabbing his hands, as he sighed, not saying anything. "eleven let me go." he mumbled, as my grip loosened on his hands.

i cried, letting go of his hands, as he sighed, giving me a hug. i cried in his chest, hugging him tightly, as he sighed, resting his chin on my head.

i soaked his shirt in tears, breathing heavily, as he hugged me closely.

"el please stop crying, i love you." he whispered, kissing my head, as i cried harder, pulling him closer.

he let go of me, pulling away from the hug, as he wiped my tears, sighing. he grabbed his stuff, as i sniffled, furrowing my eyebrows.

"b-but"—

"i was calming you down el." he mumbled, as i sniffled, nodding slowly.

he left the room, carrying his stuff downstairs, as i sniffled, sitting down on the bed.

"do you want eggos?" karen asked, knocking lightly, making me look up.

i nodded slowly, as she nodded, smiling lightly, walking downstairs. i sniffled, laying down, staring at the wall.

"here you go." karen walked back in, turning on the lamp by the nightstand, as i sat up, sniffling.

i furrowed my eyebrows, seeing pink eggos, as i looked up at her, seeing her smiling.

"surprise, i opened the envelope." she smiled widely, as i gasped, smiling lightly.

"it's a girl?" i asked, smiling, as she nodded, smiling as well.

tears burned in my eyes, as i smiled, looking down. "i'm calling nancy and telling her the news!" she walked out, as i smiled, rubbing my stomach.

i checked the window, seeing it was dark out, as i sighed, getting up. i grabbed an eggo, putting it in my pocket, as i sighed, walking downstairs.

i walked in the basement, seeing mike asleep in the fort, as i sighed, taking the eggo from my pocket, & put it beside him.

i saw him shivering, as i put another blanket over him, kissing his cheek softly, as i sniffled, walking back upstairs.

i laid down, eventually drifting off to sleep, thinking about how cute my little girl is gonna be.

i woke up, seeing mike in the room, as i furrowed my eyebrows, sitting up.

"what's this?" he pulled out the eggo from behind his back, as i looked down.

"surprise." i mumbled, as he nodded, throwing it away.

"the eggo was cold." he mumbled, walking out, as i sighed, looking down.

"mike?" i walked downstairs, seeing him doing
homework, as i sighed, sitting down.

"i'm busy el." he mumbled, as i looked down, fiddling with my ring.

"why can't you be happy for us?" i asked, seeing him set down his pencil.

"we're having a little girl." i smiled lightly, as he looked away, not wanting to look at me.

"mike please." i gave a sad look, sitting next to him, as he sighed, pulling me in for a hug.

i sniffled, hugging him tightly, as he sighed, burying his face in my shoulder. "i'm sorry." he whispered, as i hugged him tightly, nodding slowly.

we went upstairs, laying down, as i cried, hugging him. "why are you crying?"

"i thought you were gonna leave me." i cried, hugging him tightly, as he sighed, kissing my head.

"el i would never leave you, no matter how mad or upset i get." he whispered, hugging me, as i sniffled, nodding slowly.

"el you're my whole world, i love you. please don't ever think i'm gonna leave you."

"b-but you said i ruined your life"-

"i was just upset, i'm sorry. i don't care about harvard as long as i'm with you." he whispered, kissing my head, as i sniffled, nodding slowly.

he rested his hand on my stomach, as i sighed, drifting off to sleep feeling his warmth.
