Chapter 4

He's testing me. That's the thought comes in my head when he told me what to do. Even if I don't want any of it, I have no other option but to go for it. Maybe after all, he's just trying my ability and skills, so he would know how far I'll go into this kind of situation. Kung alam niya lang kung paano ako nahihirapan sa mga pinag-gagawa niya sa akin. I'm trying my best to keep myself from the danger that's why pushing people away I cared about was my first priority. I only did it because I don't want them to be part of something they actually didn't know about.

They have to be safe and so I'm enough with that thought.

When I got home, my parents weren't home and they're just still probably at their respective works. And I think it is better that they don't know I came home and left the house because they would just ask me where would I go. Even if I'm not their little baby any more, they still do think I'm their baby. They don't want to let go their sight out of us. Gusto nila, alam nila kung saan kami pumupunta. They should've been informed everytime.

But now, I'm the only one whose getting the same treatment.

Since my brother left our house, he cut out his connections to our parents. I don't know his reasons and I don't even bother to ask him. It is his life and what's matter the most, I still get see his condition. And now, I think, he's doing good... not literally good things but the other way that keeps him alive.

Not that long when I receive a message on my burner phone.

The rides outside. Good luck, brother.

It is coming from Gio, obviously. When I stood up from the couch, our maid immediately come up to me and blocked my way.

I could totally sense frighten on her face but I didn't mind it.

I shook my head, as a respond. "I'm sorry, I'm not available tonight. They should booked it next time I do. I gotta go now."

"Ser, saan po kayo pupunta para po masabi ko kila madam kung saan—" I didn't finished her words.

"Basta, and don't wait for me, gagabihin ako."

"Ser." She kept calling me pero hindi na ako lumingon sa kanya. "Ser, ano pong sasabihin ko kay madam?"

"Just tell anything!" I said, raised my hand so she would give up asking.

When I reach the gate, nakita ko na kaagad ang sasakyang naghihintay sa akin. I couldn't see who's inside, the window were hard tinted so it won't give a person sight from the outside. Tuluyan din naman akong tumungo doon at kinatok ang bintana. Binaba naman nito ng kaunti ang binata. Ang akala ko na makikilala ko kung sinong nasa loob ay hindi pala.

He's wearing a black hood, but he couldn't hide his voice or maybe, he's trying to imitate someone so he won't sound like him. "Are you, Danford Vandorphy?" a deep voice comes from him.

I nodded to him, "I am... is this the car would bring me to the club?"

"It is, hop in." he timidly said.

Mabilis ko namang binuksan ang pinto sa passenger seat at pumasok sa loob. I wasn't comfortable seating in a car where I don't know it would bring me to, but for now, I trust Gio and if this won't go as to what I'm thinking. Maybe, it is the time I should forget him and his criminal alliance.
