A.N. Another fairly short update. I don't know I've been in quite the writing mood, but I never really have any good ideas so I figured I would just do a few fillers until I think of any ideas. Feel free (ha, Free, get it?....okay I'll stop) to leave any suggestions or requests. (*'︶'*)

Haruka and Makoto sat at the edge of the beach, their feet soaking up the water while the rest of them soaking up the sun. It was quite a task to get Haru to stay out of the water completely but after a lot of encouragement and promises of kisses and mackerel, he obeyed.

The two boys and the kids had to have some sort of vacation. Of course things have definitely died down the past few months, there were still rough patches. Ren's night terrors have become more frequent and Makoto has been feeling more depressed than usual, knowing that some bad events have happened around this time in the past.

Now, even though it was Makoto who was feeling depressed, that doesn't mean that Haru was the one who planned this as a way to relax and cheer up. No, Makoto actually came up with this idea, Haru only agreed to it because of staying at a little house on the beach.

Ran and Ren chased each other around in the sand, exerting all of their energy. They spent the entire day that way; chasing each other, finding sea shells and crabs (A.N. You're welcome Brennon), and building sand castles.

To say that Ren and Ran's day was more hectic would be the biggest understatement of the century. The two boys decided that it would be best for them to just relax and enjoy the feeling of resting and sleeping. And that's exactly what they did. They waded in the water for a little bit, picking up interesting looking rocks. They laid down on the beach and fell asleep, managing to not get sunburnt somehow, and sleeping in the house. So basically all they did was sleep.

When it was night time and the moon reflected off of the rippling water, Ren and Ran had tired themselves out and fallen asleep quickly. Makoto and Haru, however, slept the entire day and had fully transformed into a nocturnal animal. They tried but they could not for the life of them fall asleep. They turned and twisted and moved the blankets around, but to no avail.

"Walk?" Makoto mumbled, his face being squished by a pillow.

"I'm not a dog, y'know." Haru replied dryly. But nonetheless he got up and pulled Makoto with him as they walked out of the house barefoot, making sure to lock the doors.

The cool air kissed their skin as they left the house. Saltiness from the ocean was in the air as well as mist that sprayed them occasionally.

"How have you been doing?" Haru built up enough courage to ask.

Makoto laughed slightly. "What do you mean? You're with me everyday."

"I mean how are you doing with the depression and memories and stuff." Haru clarified, his voice getting quieter throughout the sentence as he began to feel shy.

Makoto hummed as he thought of what to say. "I mean, the memories have been coming back to me a lot recently. Lots of nightmares and stuff."

Haru was sort of preparing for this. He knew that one of these days, Makoto was going to relapse. But he was mistaken today.

"But, I've been coping with it better." Makoto added with a soft smile.

"You really are so strong, you know that?" Haru pondered aloud.

Makoto snorted. "No I am not."

Haru simply rolled his eyes, making sure that Makoto saw the faces he was making.

"Oh shut up!" Makoto laughed.

Their walk was pretty quiet after that. They walked hand in hand across the beach, feeling the cool sand between their toes and the wind blow their hair into their eyes.

"We should probably head back." Haru said.

Makoto nodded and they turned on their heel to walk the direction they came from. Makoto shifted his eyes and looked at Makoto with a sly smile. "Race you there?"

Haru scoffed. "You're on!"

And within a second they were off, both of them running at full speed, kicking up sand under their feet.

Huffing and puffing, Makoto leaned over on the front porch of the house, holding onto the railing. Haru arriving not 5 seconds later.
"Gosh, what took you so long? I could've been asleep by now." Makoto joked.

"At least I'm not breathing like an elderly man who just attempted to run a marathon." Haru shot back.

Makoto clutched his chest where his heart was. "Ouch, that hurts." He teased. "I mean, I'm so nice to you and you're just so rude."

Haru stifled a laugh before pulling Makoto toward him so that he could attach their lips for a quick but loving kiss. "Let's get to sleep." Haru said as he opened the door to the house.
