26. You & I Collide

I moved through the little town as I saw the people looking down at us. "They know this isn't our car."

"We need to stop in the next town and get a map and a new car." Jared said back to me.

I nodded my head as I pushed through the little town.

"So where is the mountain castle at?"

I looked back at him, "Did you just say mountain castle?"

"Then what the fuck do you call it?"

"Jared it was our house in the mountains, it wasn't really a castle. Not everyone in Romania lives in a castle."

Jared looked at me. "I'm sorry I just thought that maybe you did."

"I'm not part of that world."

"And what world is that?"

"The vampire world." I smiled back at him.

"Vampires have castles?"

"Yea, I mean we are here the home of Dracula."

"You are fucking with me."

"No, I mean it's like a day's drive but his house is here."

"I don't wanna see his house; I wanna see my wife and my kids."

I hit the brakes. "You may be seeing something else."

"Is that the police?"

"The boy either called them or they found the bodies."

"You think they traced the car?"

"I wouldn't put it past them."

"You just passed a man riding a donkey and you think they have a computer system set up with car tags and registration?"

"I don't know Jared!"

The man with the hand gun told me to put the window down.

I smiled back at him.

"I haven't seen you before." The officer smiled back at me.

"I am just visiting some family."

Jared looked at me as my voice echoed the officer's.

"Oh, really, by the looks of it you are visiting the..."

I swung the door open hitting the cop in the head.

His gun dropped on the ground as I picked it up and pointed it back at the other officer in the car. "You are gonna put the gun down and get out of the car."

The officer put his hands up as Jared walked over to him.

Jared took the weapon from the officer as he took his jacket and cuffs.

Jared turned the officer around and put the cuffs on him.

I glanced down at the officer on the ground, "You should have just kept moving."

The officer on the ground went to reach for his radio.

I walked over to him and hit him across the face as I took his radio from him.
