"Penny... it's been days since you've last gone home. Lucas and I are here to watch over Zeke also." I tried reasoning.

"No." She whispered, she ripped her teary gaze from her brother's form and to me. "What if something happens, and I'm not here."

I put my hand on her shoulder, squeezing it gently. "Then, I'll mind link you immediately." To which she just shook her head, laying her head back on Zeke's bed. "Penny... what would Zeke say if he saw how you weren't taking care of yourself."

I saw her lips tug until a small smile showed, she wiped a stray tear from her cheek and laughed, "He would probably call me a dirty bitch."

I laughed silently at her response, that would be something he would say.

"OK." She said, getting up. She pointed a thin finger towards me, "If anything, and I mean it if anything happens. Like his heart skipping a beat or his finger moving, anything!" She emphasized. "If anything happens you mind link me immediately."

Holding two fingers in the air, I replied. "Scouts honor." She had a lopsided smile as she saw that, and she opened her arms for a hug, to which I eagerly gave her back.

The door creaked open and in walked Lucas and Mandy, both of whom wore the same expression on their face as they looked at Zeke.

Lucas walked towards Penny and threw his arm around her, pulling her towards him as he gave her a tight hug. He pulled back and dropped his car keys into her hands. "Go home, take care of yourself and Mandy, alright?"

She nodded as she clutched the keys in her hands and walking towards Mandy's outstretched arm. She took her hand and they both left the room, leaving Lucas, Zeke and I alone.

We both walked towards the two empty seats positioned in the corner of the room, plopping down on it we watched Zeke's heartbeat steadily on the monitor. The rhythmical constancy of it easing my heart.

"How long." I started, licking my dry lips. "How much longer, do you think, until he gets better?"

Turning to face Lucas, who was already looking at me. "Doctor's told me that it shouldn't even be a couple more days." I watched as he crossed his arms. "If it was a normal bullet we would've been out of this place the day he got shot. But that silver messed up his entire body."

"How bad exactly is silver?"

I watched eyes flicker before his face grimaced. "Touch it for more than ten minutes, you're a dead man." His blunt words causing me to gulp.

For a bit, I just nodded. Trying to allow this new piece of werewolf information to stick into my brain.

"Can't help but wonder- not even wonder. I know this is partly my fault." I started. "Because of how I know that man. If I didn't, would all of this even of happened?"

Lucas' face turned angry, and I found myself wanting to cower, but I sat still in my seat. "Dawn, you didn't pick up the gun, you didn't pull the trigger, you didn't shoot. It's not your fault."

I didn't respond, just gazed back over to Zeke's asleep figure.

"How do you know that man?" Lucas asked, causing my own heart to fall to the depths of my stomach. I turned to face him, and he was looking at me with raw intensity. Licking my chapped skin again, I felt my mouth go dry, could I tell him? I still hadn't forgiven him for what he had done, but I trusted him with my life more than I trusted myself. I turned to fix my gaze onto the shiny linoleum. Seeing my own reflection staring back at me, my leg started to bounce up and down as I tried to give him an answer.

Either, it's not important. I don't want to talk about it. Or being honest and telling him.

"Dawn..."

"I was twelve." I blurted out, guess we're being honest.

"My dad had told me that he was going to be gone that weekend. I was alone in the house by myself, I couldn't bring it within me to run away during that time." Lucas' fists quickly clenched at the mention of my father but released once I continued. "I hadn't eaten in the longest time, part of his way to ensure I wouldn't get away, but I had found those little Hershey bars. You know the ones with the pieces you can break off?" I faced him, and he nodded back to me. "I was practically inhaling the thing when I heard noises come from outside, then some loud yelling accompanied it. He wasn't supposed to be home that early." I whispered.

Lucas' hand came into view and held mine in his hands, squeezing slightly.

"I ran like a trailblazer, hid in my closet as he called out for me, and his friend..." I peered from under my eyelashes towards Lucas, who seemed to be connecting the puzzle that was my life. "I can't remember anything other- anything other- anythi-" I started repeating like a broken record.

"Take your time." Lucas whispered, "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."

"He raped me." I felt Lucas' hand squeeze once more before it went limp. My eyes finally shedding the tears I pushed back while telling him my story. "Lucas... I was only twelve."

His eyes were the blackest I've ever seen them, a sight I hadn't seen in the longest time. "I swear Dawn, the mi-"

He was cut off by a groan coming from Zeke, I snapped my head towards him. We both got quiet, listening for another noise to come out.

"Whaddafuck." He mumbled, and I gasped.

I looked back at Lucas, his eyes still fighting with each other. "Call the doctor!"

"Dawn..." He started, still holding onto our conversation.

"Later." I wiped a tear from my cheek, while moving towards a struggling Zeke, "I promise."

He looked hesitant but nevertheless got up from the chair to the hallway to get the doctor as I mind linked Penny.

I took the seat next to Zeke's bed, grabbing his hand, as his eyes peeled open, only to snap them shut the minute the bright lights hit his dark eyes. I laughed at the action, brushing his long hair off his forehead.

"Hi, Zeke." I sniffed.

♥ ♥ ♥

Such a short chapter, but I decided to change the route of the ending. The ending's going to be prolonged, and I wouldn't say I'm milking out the story but in a sense I kind of am. Lucas and Dawn's relationship is only going to go up from now. And theres still ways to go before that new roller coaster starts. Im guessing at the most, like the very most there'll be about and again at the most like ive milked the cow (this story) dry like 20 more chapters. But i kind of doubt that.

but just like every roller coaster.... there's gotta be a big drop ; )

I also, made that song up there... well not made but i didn't like the background of the og video so i made my own and edited the audio a bit, it sounds better with headphones because the audio travels from the left ear to the right to both. vvvvvv trip.
