Dakota smirks at Winter's reply, a mischievous grin spreading over his face as he stares ahead, thinking of a dare.

"I dare you to - "

"Remember, middle school dares." I remind him, knowing my brother all too well.

He gives me a bored look, a sigh escaping. "Okay fine you downer. Winter, I dare you to hang mistletoe somewhere in the house."

"That's all?" Winter laughs, standing to his feet. "My mom has some in the kitchen drawer for Christmas parties." He tells us, walking off.

I shoot Dakota a glare. "I know what you're doing." I hiss.

He gives me an innocent look, placing a hand on his chest as if he's been falsely accused. "And what exactly am I doing?"

"Finding a loophole." I whisper in annoyance. "This should be against the rules."

"Well it's not so get over it." He smirks, stretching his arms behind his head and kicking up his feet.

"I loathe you." I hiss.

"Who loathes who?" Winter asks as he enters the room once again. My eyes search his hands for the mistletoe but I don't see it.

"You couldn't find it?" I ask.

"No I did." He nods, taking a seat once again. "I already hung it up."

I pause, glancing over at my brother who's wearing a triumphant smile. "Where did you hang it?" I ask.

"You'll have to use a truth for that." He winks, earning a chuckle from Dakota.

"Alright alright enough flirting. It's your turn, Winter." My brother urges us to continue. I begin to sweat at his statement, my head lowering in frustration.

"Okay...Dakota. Truth or dare?" Winter asks my brother. Dakota looks slightly surprised he was chosen which is stupid considering he had a 50/50 chance.

"Truth." He answers immediately.

"Now who's a chump?" I throw a couch cushion in his direction but he easily catches it.

"I'm just afraid he'll get revenge on me for not going outside with you guys." He shrugs as if this is an obvious fact.

"You think so lowly of me." Winter says dramatically.

"Yeah yeah just ask the question, lover boy." My brother sighs.

"Alright fine. If you're such a huge fan of Kissmas, how many girls exactly have you really kissed under the mistletoe?" He asks with genuine curiosity as he reaches across Dakota to grab a couple of cookies.

I bite my lower lip to contain any laughter that's threatening to spill out. This is what karma looks like, my friends. My brother is full of tall tales and jokes but when he's actually confronted with his own stories, the payback is real.
