"I'm sorry, I don't think I know you," I say as nicely as possible.

"You probably don't, but everyone at school knows you! I'm Caroline, by the way," she holds out a hand for me to shake which I take and shake. "I know you're probably wondering why I'm talking to you."

"No, no! It's totally fine with me," I say with a small smile. I knew how it felt to try introduce yourself, and I think it was better if I saved her breath.

Her smile went from ear to ear, saying, "I guess I should get you two's orders, huh?" she giggles. We tell her what we want and she nods, taking note of what we ordered on her notepad. "So are you guys on a date?"

"We are actually," Terrance says, looking me in the eyes with his beautiful emerald ones. I couldn't help but blush and look at my hands. I honestly felt really vulnerable right now. I mean, I hadn't been this open or 'emotionally open' like this since I was in seventh grade, around three years ago.

"Aw! She's blushing," Caroline giggles. "I'll get your orders out here ASAP, love birds. Have fun on your date!"

She left us alone and I looked up at Terrance. He was observing my face, when he took my hand in his. Tingles when up my arm and I gasp quietly at the sweet contact.

"You're really beautiful, Sarah," he says. I blush really hard this time.

"Why are you being so nice to me?" I ask.

"You deserve it, Sarah. You deserve to be complimented, and told the truth to, and the truth is that you're beautiful. You may have a past. Everyone does, but that doesn't change you. You're still going to be the same sweet, sarcastic, and gorgeous Sarah," he says, looking me deep in the eyes. It made me want to kiss him. 'Yeah, hormones' she said in a sing song voice.

"You're just too sweet aren't you, Terr?" I smile. "You're really handsome. No matter how many stereotypical girls call you hot, you're handsome, and amazing, and kind, or for what I know. Who knows? You could be a stalker for real who has amazing acting skills, but again who knows?" I laugh. He laughs with me, and I shiver when his thumb rubs my hand as he does so.

The rest of the time we wait, we ask each other questions like 'whats your favorite color?' 'or what do you want to do after you graduate?'.

Our food came shortly afterwards and I found that Caroline had brought us, instead of two shakes, one tall glass of vanilla shake with two straws and a cheery on top.

"Ooh! Cherries!" I squeak, grabbing one, making Terrance chuckle, shaking his head.

"Can you tie the stem in your mouth?" Terrance asks, taking his.

"Nope. I never learned. You?"

"Yep," he says, eating the cherry and taking the stem in this mouth. I just watched him, waiting. He finally held the tied cherry stem in between his teeth with a smile, making me laugh.

We laughed together before we are our food. Terrance paid the bill, giving Caroline a twenty dollar tip, me adding ten dollars to his ten, and we left.

When we arrived at my house, he walked me up to my door, holding my hand in his. "I had so much fun, Terr! I haven't had that much fun for a long time. Thank you," I smiled. "Though, you'll have to teach me how to tie a cherry stem."

"I think I know how I can do that," his voice was husky, sending a shiver down my spine. He began to lean in and eventually took the back of my neck impatiently smashing his lips to mine. The feeling made me weak at the knees as I kissed him back. His lips were so soft on mine it seemed like I could kiss him for forever and still not get the least bit bored.

My arms snaked around his neck, and his around my waist and he deepened the kiss, trying to get his tongue access to my mouth, but being the leader I am, I didn't let him. He eventually just shoved his tongue in my mouth, and the cool feeling made something in my stomach ache, yet it wasn't painful, it was ticklish almost.

He groaned as he pulled away, still holding me to him. My breath was coming out hard as I caught my breath and Terrance rested his chin on top of my head, pulling my head to rest on his chest. I felt his heartbeat begin to slow down as his chest rose and fell.

The feeling of having him close felt comforting and safe, like I could trust him, even if we hadn't known each other for more than two days.

Terrance finally pulled away, looking me in the eyes as he ticked a loose piece of hair behind my ear, kissing my forehead, "Good night, Sarah. I'll pick you up for school in the morning."

Then he walks back to his car, giving me one last smile and wave. I wave dreamily as he drives off, before heading to the Willis' house to pick up Madeline.

"Hello, Sarah! How was your date?" Mr. Willis opened the door this time.

"It was truly amazing to be honest. Terrance is really sweet," I say with a huge grin.

"Well I'm glad you two had a good time. I'll go get Madeline. She's asleep," he says.

"Oh! I can just carry her," I say going in to where she sleeps. "Thank you so much for looking after her, Mr. Willis."

"No problem, Sarah. Have a good night's sleep," Mr. Willis says, closing the front door behind me. I sigh as I manage to open the front door to my house and carry Madeline to our bedroom, setting her on the bed as she continues to sleep. I jump in the shower, quickly cleaning myself before getting into my pajamas and getting in bed, ready to go to sleep and dream about Terrance.
