While we were walking Toby found a little snake in the corner of someones yard. I have a terrible fear of snakes so I was instantly scared. Apparently so was Connor because the minute Toby picked it up he began yelling at him to put it down.
"Its just a garden snake" Toby said
"I don't care put it down" Connor hollered
"Is the little boy scared" Riley laughed as him and Toby took a step towards Connor with the snake
Connor took off running and I ran with him scared that they would come towards me next. Once we got so far ahead that you couldn't even see them anymore we slowed down and just started walking again.
"I really hate snakes" Connor said out of breath
"Me too" I agreed
"Hey what the hell are you doing" I heard a male voice say from in front of us
I looked up to see no other than Zach standing there looking at me and Connor. Shit I had to think quick.
"Uhh...you see my aunt's friend Robert lives over here and she wanted him to come up to the hospital but when she tried calling him his phone was shut off. So she sent me and Charlie to come and let him know, but then Charlie's car wouldn't start so we had to take the bus and now here we are just going to let Robert know" I lied
"Yeah sure who the hell are you" he asked Connor
"This is Charlie he is my aunt's husband's nephew" I said quickly before Connor had a chance to say anything
"Yeah whatever I will get to the bottom of this" Zach said pushing past us
"What was all that about" Connor asked me once Zach was out of sight
"I can explain later but right now we have to warn Riley and Toby that Zach is headed their way"
"Okay I'll text him but what do you want me to say"
"Go the other way, hide in a bush, just anything so that Zach doesn't see them" I panicked

Once the four of us were safe and back inside their house I decided to tell Connor everything. He pretty much had the same reaction that Riley did.
"If I would have known all of that out there I would have said something to the jerk about it" he blurted out
"No Connor please don't. The last thing I want is for something to happen to you guys. In plus he didn't even recognize you"
"Okay I'll be quiet for now but if this keeps going on I will do something"
