I quickly slammed the door back closed
"Riley go in the coat closet and stay in there for a minute"
"Why"
"Just please do it"
"Okay I'm going but I still want to know why"
"I will tell you in a minute"
RILEY'S POV
I trust Ashley so I believe that she has a good reason for sending me in here. Everything seemed fine until she opened the door though. I don't know what it could be. I didn't see anything. Maybe her parents came home and she's not allowed to have people over or something or maybe...all of a sudden I heard a mans voice hollering and I instantly knew
"Why are you still here huh if you can spend all this time messing around we could have went out"
"I was just getting ready to leave I swear" I heard Ashley whimper
"Oh yeah sure I swear to god Ashley if I find out you're lying to me we're over"
I then heard a smacking sound and the front door slam shut. I busted out of the closet and saw her sitting on the floor crying and she had a huge hand print on the side of her face
"You need to get away from him" I told her
"I know it's just..."
"It's just what"
It was silent
"Ashley you can talk to me what is it" I asked as I sat down on the floor right across from her
"If I do anything about it now he'll swear it's because of you and the last thing I want is for you to get hurt" she cried
"Look don't worry nothing is going to happen to me and from now on nothing will happen to you" I said giving her a huge hug
"Now let's go so you can get your mind off of this"
